Tim Gunn

Tim Gunn, the creative director for Liz Claiborne, star Bravo's "Project Runway" and host of "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style" stopped by Conan last night to offer some fashion criticism about Hillary Clinton. In a recent Newsweek he broached the subject, suggesting Senator Clinton could learn from Nancy Pelosi's dress sense. He went further on Conan saying, "I think she's confused about what her gender is. She's so mannish in her dress."

Clinton should not be judged on her "mannish" appearance but on her vote to authorize bush to go to war in iraq and her yea vote on Kyl-Lieberman which would give bush tacit support to go to war with Iran. Fortunately, the intelligence report thwarted the later, for now. Tim Gunn's ideas about how she dresses stresses what we should be ignoring when we choose our leaders. Of course, we know that we rarely decide for the right reasons.

Prejudiced speech. Shame on the Huff Post for publishing it. Offensive to any professional woman (it's not what you say, cookie; it's how you dress) and sad, sad, sad that a respectable news organization would further publicize it. I support the other candidate, but I respect Hillary Clinton for her distinctive and attractive style these days.

Look, I'm an Obama supporter but I think the publication of this kind of thing on Huff Post is offensive and sad: offensive because the item insults any professional woman (it's not what you say, cookie; it's how you comb your hair) and sad because the person at the Huff Post who made the decision to publicize this drivel was playing to the worst instincts in the readership. This person's pronouncement isn't treated as the prejudiced speech as it should be. I may be siding with the other candidate, but I think Hillary is carrying herself well these days and--insofar as it matters on TV--looking great. The editorial team should be ashamed of themselves.

Thank you for saying this, haiku. As a staunch feminist, I have been beating this drum for many, many months. But let's be honest. What if she WAS a lesbian? How would that possibly impact how she runs the country? The answer, as far as I am concerned, is that it wouldn't. No more than a blow job did.

And I thought Huffington had sunk to her lowest level.

Disgusting.

It was only to win Bill re-election as Governor
of Arkansas that she started to wear make-up,
contacts, shave her armpits, call herself Hillary Rodham Clinton, instead of Hillary
Rodham. The pantsuits are meant to hide her legs and calves.
Clearly she has confusion about her identity
and true self. Probably why people think she
is not authentic. If she had listened more to Marlo Thomas' "Free to be you and me", she might doing better in the public opinion polls right now.
She is a intelligent women who tied her ambitions to her husband, and forgot who she was along the way.
Tim Gunn for President!

Unfortunately I keep wondering if the Gold jacket of Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore
might be available?

When is HuffPo going to tire of knocking women? Not just Senator Clinton ... every woman has become fair game. I am stunned that Huffington herself doesn't seem to see how far back she is shoving the woman's movement. I am ashamed for you Ariana.

That was a surprisingly unclassy remark to be heard coming from the mouth of a man that I used to consider the epitome of class.

I guess Tim got tired of making it work!

Wow, everyone needs to lighten up here. Tim Gunn's only problem, far as I'm concerned, is that he isn't straight and available. He's the perfect man. However, does anyone think for a moment that every stitch of Hillary's wardrobe isn't calculated? One of my many worries about her is that, if elected president, she'll out-Bush Bush just to prove she's not a pussy.

Hillary has gained a lot of weight. She just doesn't look good in her pantsuits.

Tim Gunn said later on the same show that Nancy Pelosi is a fashion icon for Congress. Uh..because she is skinny, and FITS her pantsuits.

Talk about a person who is confused about their gender. Gunn isn't just confused, he's totally baffled. Kind of like a lisp calling a novocained tongue phonetically challenged.

Ask not what is her sense of fashion; ask, what can she do for our country.
