David Letterman Makes Fun Of John McCain

Last night David Letterman ripped into septugenarian presidential candidate John McCain. Letterman made a couple quips that could definitely offend the ARRP community. He framed McCain as the stodgy old man that looks "like the old guy at the barber shop," "a Wal-mart greeter," "the guy who is always early for the 'Early Bird Special'," and "the guy at the supermarket who is confused by the automatic doors."

I am an old fart AARPer so I do not find Letterman's jokes about McCain's age all that funny particularly since Dave is only ten years younger and has been eligible for AARP for over a decade. It's not McCain's age. It is that he represents the past. He wants to be the warrior president. It is time for the hand off to the millenial generation.

Reagan had alzheimers disease during much, if not all, of his presidency, and look at what his economic policies have led to. Do we really need to take a chance that we'll have another one like him? I know that the Republicans just "get off" over Reagan, but he did have alzheimers while he was in office.

Bush is mentally challenged. How much more of this crap can we take. I have no problem with the mentally challenged, but do we really need them to run this country? I'm not saying that McCain is mentally challenged, but look at the odds.

Bearing in mind that age is quite frequently a state of mind and not so much a chronological number, yes, McCrazy is indeed too old for the Presidency. *Something*, whether simple age, psychological quirks, or whatever, has turned him into an irresponsible crank who will obviously say and do anything he thinks he can get away with in order to be President. Of course, those on the right will be livid that Letterman sees the reality of McCain and not the fraud that the mainstream media promotes.

And what's with McCain's shoulder pads? They must be bigger than Joan Crawford's and they look ridiculous. And it's not just the shoulder pads. His arm gestures look wierd.
