Politico:

It may be too little too late, but Hillary Clinton may have been onto something with her warning to Democrats last night.

Only one of us, she said about her and Barack Obama at a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, is "ready to defeat the Republicans."

On potentially lethal lines of attack, religion and patriotism, Obama has twice now demonstrated that he's not sufficiently aware of the danger that exists from the conservative Freak Show that did as much to beat John Kerry as George W. Bush did in 2004.

Obama is not limited to great oratory. Read his resume. It is refreshing to have someone who can capture the attention of educated people and inspire them. Look how long America has done without it. I'm having a difficult time imagining why the Clintons did this. Wasn't he our 42nd president? Then no, I am not surprised. I HOPE that Colin Powell and Jimmie Carter endorse him. That's if someone doesn't go completely insane over Obama first; if you know who I mean.

Kinda sad Hillary is having to ask people to vote for her because she can beat them, instead of asking them to vote for her because she's the best candidate.
(I'm not saying that is or is not the the actual case)

John McCain wants to continue a failed war based on lies (wmd's). Keeping our American heroes in harms way for up to 100 years. Not in Guam. Not in Korea. In the Middle East surrounded by terrorists who hate us. Voting for McCain is voting for putting our troops in harms way in Iraq and eventually in Iran (he's said it)

Y'all keep hacking and we'll keep voting. I think John McCain will have trouble beating ... off after the NYT gets done pulling his chain. The crowd opposing Obama grows more shill as they thin in numbers.

I am quite sure Barack has more integrity in his little finger than the entire republican party, but since his penis has you so entranced, maybe you should be a good sport and offer him a gum job.

Do it for White America!

I wish someone would attack Obama on this (maybe Hillary will bring it up in the debate, you know CNN won't):

Mr. Obama did not get where he is by being naive, stupid, or vicious...come out of the corner and watch.

Most bad people tend to burn themselves eventually -- often there's no need for you to add fuel to the fire.

"Change" doesn't mean the same old game of politics -- and obviously Obama knows what he's doing since he managed to beat not one but two Clintons on their Democratic home turf.

One thing is for certain -- you don't change a winning strategy and you don't betray the people who voted for you by becoming something that you are not.

Obama is fine is as, and if he loses on those terms, then so be it.

But I personally think that those same values are why he will win.

Where does it say he has to respond to their rhetorical BS anyway? He's doing fine, I think I saw someone summoning the fat lady too.

"John McCain"s relationship with a female lobbyist underscores a paradox: Even as he embraces high ethical standards, his confidence in his own integrity sometimes seems to blind him to potential conflicts of interest."

Obama's responses to any kind of smear tactics might be too slow for some in the media but it seems to be perfect for the electorate.

Besides, I don't think Mr. Obama is particularly interested in smear tactics in general. They're kind of like flies on a horse's back.

Uh, that's exactly the attitude that allowed Kerry to be Swift Boated.

Obama's supporters don't seem to realize that winning the nomination was actually the EASY part, as hard as it was.

Most of the Democrats at least wanted to like him.

What he's about to receive will hopefully sweep all this dangerous naivety away.

Let's hope he's absolutely a quick learner. The future of the country and the planet may hinge on it.

Noted, but Obama has yet to secure the nomination. And as Hitler and Bush so amply demonstrated, fighting a wars on two fronts only leads to defeat. Same holds true in politics.

Of course the media would say this, because Obama is not providing enough sensational nasty news for them to report. I thinks it's become clear that the public is rejecting the old nasty political games of the pass. The Clinton's have certainly done there best, as has McCrazy, so far it's just back firing on them and is why Obama is kicking the crap out of Clinton and McCrazy. Obama is doing fine, I think he's being very smart in how he's handling the negative attacks. Also, he's not a nasty person to begin with and people realize that and respect the type of campaign he running. Lord knows he's got all sort's of dirt he could sling at the Clinton's but he's not. It is not going unnoticed that it's Clinton who is playing the dirty offense game while Obama plays fair defense, enough to make his point and the crap end up back in her face. He'll do the same to McCrazy.

You can not run a campaign on hope and inspiration playing dirty. His message is taking hold so I wouldn't worry, let the old timers play the old games.

I think he needs to tighten up the act a little. He gives a really great speech, he's got good policy plans, he's good at explaining why he takes the policy positions he does and relating it to real life situations. But he's not quite sharp enough about the neo con noise machine. He's had good responses to Hillary's criticisms, but it usually takes him a few days to figure out how to come back.

He needs to anticipate what the conservative attacks are going to be. And avoid the kind of situation created by careless remarks—like the one that's all over the media right now.

I agree. He needs to sharpen up. Let's hope he's a fast learner.

Its better that he take time to think and plan than take any rash action.

Obama is an intelligent and thoughtful individual and that's what I want in the White House, not a quick wit and a sharp tongue.
