Karl Rove's Newsweek Contract Details Confirmed

Karl Rove will be a member of the Newsweek family through 2009, the New York Observer's John Koblin has confirmed. Rove joined the Newsweek staff in November, but he has only contributed a paltry two columns so far. Koblin reports the details of his contract going forward:

The terms of Karl Rove's contract with Newsweek: It's a 2-year-deal, 8 columns per year and 16 overall.

A Newsweek spokeswoman confirmed this to Media Mob; editor Jon Meacham had let it slip out on Feb. 7, when a Columbia J-school student asked him about Mr. Rove (and right before Mr. Meacham asked an entire lecture-room full of Columbia students why they didn't like Newsweek).

Meacham is one of these idiotic journalists who thinks the way to edify the public is to let someone on the left and someone on the right scream at each other. When did all information become partisan? I want to hear and read the facts. I did need Rove telling me how wonderfully Bush governed, or how Democrats will invite bin Laden in to kill us. Meacham and others just prostitute journalism in this way. We know what Rove will say before he says it.

Meacham is aware of Rove's moral improprieties in the White House. Sure he has not yet been indicted for any of his misdeeds and illegalities. But the White House destroyed countless emails and does not permit key players to testify to Congress. Rove has left a moral legacy of stink a mile wide, and so Meacham hires him to write for Newsweek. All morality is relative now.
