Wolf Blitzer Says Don't Count Hillary Clinton Out Yet

The political momentum is clearly with Barack Obama. He has been impressive. But don't count Hillary Clinton out yet -- she has a formidable political machine and lots of ardent supporters.

Obama has won ten contests in a row -- almost all of them by significant margins. But Clinton still has time to come back between now and March 4, when there are major contests in Texas, Ohio, Vermont and Rhode Island. There is no doubt she is facing an uphill struggle, but it would be premature to say it's over.

Jon Stewart said it best when asked what went wrong the "in the know media "crowned her the winner even before the race started. And what happened was that the people started to vote."

I have not read what Wolf "will probably suck bill clinton's dick if he asked nicely" blitzer had to say. I will say that no one person has been further up the ass of the clintons, hoping and wishing they would throw him a "good boy" or "well done my faithful servant" than wolf Blitzer. He's a joke. I actually thought CNN was a fair network until this campaign started to go for Obama. They are worst than Fox. More blantant than fox in their love for the clintons. It's very sad.

Is it possible that a large chunk of that 150 million went towards paying off superdelegates, and this is the undisclosed super Tueday plan B? I know, call me cynical.

To be fair - not that anybody here at the HF wants to be fair, but a lot of Obama supports have said they would not vote for Hillary and they would rather have McCain.

That's sounds crazy to me, but there you have it. I am a Democrat - for Hillary - but will be happy to support Obama IF he is the nominee. This is the worst intra-democratic fight I have ever witnessed. I have never seen anything like this before. It makes people angry, because WE thought we were running against the Republican party and the 100 year war.

CNN has been pro Obama for some time and at least Wolf is correct in saying it is not over.

The majority of the media continues to repeat talking points from the Obama campaign. The latest sleazy tactic from the Obama side was to equate WI as representative of OH.

This is now disingenuous conventional wisdom because the pundits simply repeated the Axelrod and the Obama Campaign Rhetoric. Even Russert fell for this. I expected Chuck Todd to continue to repeat unabashedly whatever the Obama campaign wants him to as well as ObamaWeek, Fineman and company to continue to engage in disingenuous smear campaigns in Obama’s favor. (I wish I had a job where I could get all my material practically written for me!)

The REAL overriding demographic was that Wisconsin like Iowa are neighboring states to Illinois, one of Obama’s home states. The Chicago, Milwaukee and even Madison have turned into a huge extraburb. All other lower slices of the data simply represent this fact. In IL, he won 65-33. In WI, he won 58-41. This is also, why comparisons to OH are incorrect.

Nonsense.

CNN is clearly not pro-Obama and no amount of saying it is, will make it so. To whit: CNN played Hillary's entire speech, in spite of what her 9th and 10th losses said about her campaign's standing. The pundits, with the exception of the lone Obama supporter among their pundits were in opposite contrast to their peers at MSNBC who were asking the relevant question if "Hillary is finished."

Carl Bernstein, of Watergate fame, was the lone pundit speaking to the realities of Hillary's circumstance and comparing how coverage would be turning if Obama had just lost 10 in a row. Blitzer and staff seem to be rather stunned, as if they more appeared shocked that Hillary didn't pull off a win to fit within their narrative of a 'comeback' leading in to their debate on Thursday.

It is clearly unlikely if Obama had suffered so many stinging defeats that he would get a whif of the coverage still routinely given to Hillary.

Lastly, CNN consistently shades its numbers, and keeps refering to a dead heat, in spite of Obama leading by 150+ pledged delegates. And, even in light of Obama gaining 15 Supers and Hillary losing 4 Supers since Feb. 5, CNN has routinely refered to this race as too close to call. The only way to believe that CNN is pro-Obama is to selectively pick one story and stereotype it as normal, but for those who watch CNN it is fairly clear its staff and operation is clearly in the tank for Hillary.

A blog entry written this well and says that CNN is pro-obama is quite a bit more than fishy. Quit playing on the computer Wolf and go hide your face for being the leader of a news organization that lacks class, lacks fairness, and after this election, maintains a level credibility hovering slightly above the national enquirer and just below fox news. Your love for the clintons have ruined CNN

Be careful what you ask for. Obama will lose the general election and it could be a HUGE loss.

It depresses me to tears to write these words, but:

Hillary Rohdam Clinton is the iconic embodiment of INCOMPETENCE.

The woman had the world's greatest political machine behind her - strategists, fund raisers, status as THE Inevitable nominee, $150,000,000.00, AND a former popular two-term US President - ... and, what does she do with all this?

Wolf, the only way she can win is to have her pay off the super delegates. CFA would take either of them, as Bill is a member. But she doesn't have the people behind her that will give her the votes. Its not that they don't think she can win, but they see Obamma is someone whom they can mold into thier little puppet. She wouldn't be as easy to mold at this point. They are afraid she would turn on them as far as keeping the war going. The woman is very strong willed. For now she is run by corporate. That might not be the case come January after the elections, which is what they want, are counting on with Obamma. There is more to this than a popularity contest, This is about long term, who will be the republicrat the republicans are praying for. Wolf I think this is a 50/50 split.

Wolf Blitzer wrote "don’t count Hillary Clinton out yet — she has a formidable political machine and lots of ardent supporters."

Blitzer himself is one of those people and part of that machine. I expect him to attempt a more aggressive hitjob on Obama during tonight's debate. CNN has been blatantly pro-Hillary biased during their debates and political coverage and I expect Blitzer to do most of the attack work for Hillary tonight; this is in keeping with how they have conducted debates in a manner to diminish her opponents and uplift her from the beginning. The pressure is on and they have to help her deliver a knockout blow tonight because it is now or never.

Apparently, you don't watch the Situation Room frequently. Wolf has been an obvious Hillary supporter from the beginning. He may try to demonstrate objectivity occasionally, but he can't hide his Clinton support. By the way, he does not have total control of the debate questions.

Excellent comments.

But, if you or I recognize this possibility, we certainly can assume the Obama campaign understand this as well, and are well-prepared for these same possibilities. CNN's previous debates have seen Blitzer make a rather snide comment to Obama, yet Obama smiled and brushed it off. We must also remember that Blitzer's and CNN's reputation is also on the line, and they must not be so jealous in their support for Hillary on what most believe will be one of the most watched debates in history, to be the ones the next day who are being accused of being bias.

If the debate was held behind closed doors and we had to count on CNN for summarizing to us who said what and how, I wouldn't give Obama much of a chance for a fair hearing. But, out in the open CNN will at least have to give the impression that they are being neutral.

Maybe Blitzer is hinting at the type of crap that just went down with McCain? Maybe not women but maybe something "Rezko" is brewing that is too early to report on. Maybe that gay coke snifter passed his lie detector? If something devastating breaks the superdelegates would all turn to Hillary and would have enough votes to deliver the election to her.

It is either something like that or Wolfe is insane.

I would rather count Wolf Blitzer out. He is not even remotely intelligent. Every time I see him on CNN, I am astounded at the stupid comments that come out of his mouth. Why is he still there?

"But he overcame that and became “the comeback kid” in New Hampshire"

Wolf is a flaming idiot. A New Hampshire "comeback" would be, by the standards of this election, an early show of force. It's too late for anything but a very serious upset to change this race to Hillary's benefit, and Blitzer's comments can be regarded as no less than wishful thinking.
