Flowers

Gennifer Flowers came out today to remind everyone of her legacy in the pantheon of political scandals. She told the television show "Extra" that if Vicki Iseman "has nothing to hide, I think she should come forward."

Flowers was the other woman sixteen years ago during Bill Clinton's run for the White House. Back then Hillary Clinton - like Cindy McCain today - was the wife pointing out the "smear campaign." The one big difference between the characters today and in 1992, besides their party affiliations, is that the other woman has denied the affair. Gennifer Flowers held a press conference and produced audio evidence of sexual relations. Vicki Iseman appears to be hiding in an undisclosed location.

Below are the remarks Flowers made to "Extra" about the McCain-Iseman scandal.

When asked about her opinion regarding the recent reports of McCain's rumored affair, she responds, "I'm not going to make judgment on John McCain or the lady...Yet...If she has nothing to hide, I think she should come forward and clear it up." Flowers does offer advice to the other "other" woman. "Surround herself with excellent advisors before she makes any statements...If she has nothing to hide, I think she should come forward and clear it up," Flowers suggests.

They should do a viagra commercial with John McCain chasing a bunch of blond menopausal women around in the fields.

I think the headline is misleading. "Vicki Iseman Gets Advice From Gennifer Flowers" implies that she has received/accepted/requested advice or met with her but if Flowers goes on a TV show while "Vicki Iseman appears to be hiding in an undisclosed location" there's no evidence that she heard this advice. Wouldn't the headline "Gennifer Flowers Offers Advice To Gennifer Flowers" be less sensationalistic and have more journalistic integrity? The media is going to be in a spotlight over how much attention is paid and accuracy in reporting, I'd hate to see the Huffington Post pulled into that. It's a great article otherwise.

Er, I meant to say "Gennifer Flowers Offers Advice To Vicki Iseman" as the suggested headline.

I agree. Huffpo should be more careful in its headlines to appear forthright. Such action will distinguish it from Fox and provide it with a refreshing feeling of fairness and balance without using the phrase as a slogan.

I agree too, but it seems we're getting alot of these bogus headlines on HuffPo lately.

can everyone else who thinks this headline is misleading (and presumably deliberately so) please register their disapproval by click 'reply' on COWMAN's original comment?

Whoever's in charge of writing headlines is definitely having a bad month. Cowman's point is well-taken.

She'll come forward in due time and the reporters will uncover the truth in due time. McCain has been a crook from the first day he arrived in D.C. and does all his deals behind close doors and back rooms. Then he comes out and tells everyone he's against everything he's done wrong. Here we go again folks!
