A Dallas police motorcycle officer who crashed while escorting the Hillary Clinton motorcade to a campaign rally died Friday morning.
Officials said the officer died shortly after arriving at Methodist Medical Center, KXAS-TV in Dallas reported. NBC News correspondent Ron Allen said the officer's motorcycle was severely damaged in the crash that happened at about 9 a.m.

An accident is an accident so such tragedy should not be taken advantage of politically.
Just offer your condolences there is no political mileage.
The death of a good person should always bring sadness and consideration for those who suffer. For those who can't help but to inject politics into even the most mundane, albeit painful, incident, please be aware that conservative commentators blasted Time/CNN for its headline -- "Bush Motorcade Kills Cop" -- when reporting on a similar accident last year.
Cancelling the rally was the appropriate thing to do and, I believe, won Hillary some deserved points.

Kelly, You disappoint me. I always thought you were an admirable person and an intelligent poster. This police officer is someone's son and perhaps someone's husband and someone's father. BTW, how do you know he isn't an Obama supporter? Would that make his death a tragedy after all?

It is always a heartbreaker when police officers are killed in the line of duty. My symapthies to his family and to the people who are so sadly effected by his loss.

Hillary arrived at her rally and thanked her supporters. She then stated that a rally would be inappropriate and canceled the event. She then left for the hospital to meet with the family of the officer.
Good for Hillary Clinton. Some things are more important than campaigning.

It is too bad that all of the officers died while working the various motorcades of politicos--but I guess that is part of their job as well.
