John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, has scored a stunning zero out of 100 on the latest League of Conservation Voters Scorecard, which rates elected officials on their votes in the most recent Congress.

McCain skipped every one of the 15 votes that the League of Conservation Voters deemed critical measures for the environment, including votes where the Arizona Senator's yea would have meant passage by a single-vote margin.

There are folks, like T. Boone Pickens, who do not have their head in the sand. This is not just an environmental crisis - our Energy Policy is an economic crisis for this country.....

I remember the vote mentioned, where his one vote made the difference between success and failure. That was the bill that would have taken the 13 or 15 billion yearly giveaways from big oil (mostly Exxon) and used it to develop alternatives to oil and coal. That bill would have done a lot to help our country get away from imported oil, develop a domestic clean energy industry, and help the environment. That vote helped convince me that McCain is not the man this country needs to be president, or even Senator.

And people thought this man is some kind of Democrat in Republican clothing. He is NO maverick on the most important issues.
