Clinton Internal Polls

Election Central:

Two Hillary campaign sources -- an adviser and a major donor -- have provided to me the argument that Hillary's advisers and pollsters are privately making to donors and supporters as to why it's too early to count her out of the race.

According to the adviser and donor, Hillary advisers are telling people -- when they're sounding optimistic tones designed to sooth jittery donors -- that the campaign's internal polling shows her up over five points in her key firewall states of Ohio and Texas.

She's up by 5!

A month ago, she was up by healthy double-digits in both states. She need to win much bigger than that margin to stay competitive.

Yeah, the same polls that show her being cornoated by Super Tuesday.

Nice try hillarious. The only people that are buying your bullshit are on your payroll and it doesn't sound like those folks are getting paid any longer.

Just go away

Yea, Hillary! Yea, Bill!!

Keep listening to your synchophants and spending money!! Keep making asses out of yourselves!!

It's a fitting end to a selfish exercise in personal (and political) narcissism.

Some people have short learning curves, and some people have loooonnnnnnngggggggg learning curves . . .

I am sad abut the death of the motorcycle officer in Dallas and it is unfortunate now for Hillary to add her reaction to the red eyes and the wavering voice to be able to influence the polls again. I get angry when Bush uses the war dead for his own goals and I will also be very angry when this is used by Hillary to up herself in the polls. This is probably the miracle she has been seeking...but I truly hope not. She should not be able to use our emotions as Bush has used our fears againest us all these years.

Polls, polls, polls, since when during the cycle have they really been an effective mechanism for reflecting the outcome?

Only time will tell as usual and time will tell. I have no confidence in them what so ever.

When the voting is over then we'll know and based on prior outcomes I would bet the polls will be discredited once again.

From the financials outined in the NYTImes yesterday, there are a lot of Clinton operatives with an interest in letting this gravy-train-wreck going as long as possible. Unfortunatly, it's not money nor energy well spent, as we should start regrouping for November. After all, as Sen. Clinton eloquently states in the words of her husband and Se. Edwards: is is not about her, but about the American people. SHOW US, please!

I'd be pleased with someone regardless of eloquence that sincerely tries. Fluffed up rhetoric, baseless arguments and finally just boring the hell out of me are not helping. Yes please show us, something we can be proud of and willingly support, that would be wonderful.

LOL!

Gotta laugh at this one. I wonder how many "internal polls" the Clintons push on the media every day?

Remember all the internal race polls? LOL!
I guess Obama put that shit to rest!

I would GREATLY question this poll - it is WAY out there compared to other polls (it could be correct - but it doesn't follow the trend). All the major pollsters currently have this as an even race in Texas (within the margin of error).

That being said - that is way too close for Clinton to expect a win there. AND she is taking Saturday off to speak in Louisiana while Obama is campaigning on Saturday in Texas.

Also, in the article - says Clinton insiders are hoping for a 5-10% victory for Clinton in Texas. That won't close the gap - not with 1/3 of the delegates being apportioned in the caucus 1/2 of the election that day - and with larger #'s of delegates being distributed in urban state senate districts.

Clinton could win with 5-10% only for Obama to actually get the higher amount of delegates from Texas.

As for Ohio - Clinton has a better chance, and could stop Obama's delegate streak there - however, Clinton is not going to trim a 150 pledged delegate deficit by more than 10 delegates with a 5-10% victory there. And if she moves the line in the sand one more time - that shows her supporters and the public that she is just staying in for ego's sake.

http://www.riograndeguardian.com/rggnews_story.asp?story_no=28 /look at this - One of Clinton's main guys in the Rio Grande valley at an Obama rally to watch history being made, and stating to the press that it's getting pretty clear who is going to win... With people like this on your side, who needs pollsters, party platters, highly paid operatives and 25K accomodations in the Bellagio for Bill (read the NYT today - we thought a $400.00 haircut was bad!) I wonder what the disclosure of this spending does to her income stream?

She lies to donors to keep the money coming in for her over-paid advisors who are incompetent and expensive hotels. Imagine what she'll do with our tax dollars.

So THIS is whay the CLinton campaign is paying these operatives the big bucks (do read today's article in the NY Times! (Wolfson $266,000 in a month - Gibbs $12.000... And we thought the $400.00 haircut was bad...) What worried me is to read that the campaign (Solis-Doyle) did not tell HRC how dire the finances were. Talk about a candidate shielded from reality in a cocoon of trusted advisors, where loyalty trumps competence. I think we've seen the last 7 years what this leads to (but it is in line with Sen. Clintons actions in the WH - remember travelgate? Suspicious of conspiracies all around her, the circel became very small.
