There's no lack of short relationships with men, you just don't see a lot of short men in relationships. Whether it is ultimately natural selection at work or just an inability to spot smaller men in a crowd is anyone's guess. You'll find dozens of couples every day at the Big & Tall. But there aren't a lot of wedding registries in the children's department of Barneys. On the dating rack, people are extra-large in love with no room left for the little guy.

As a teen ager I got used to the fact that everybody was taller than me. Being tall is an advantage in sports; that's it. I learned that, as a short man, I had to use my brain, be thorough & reliable. OK that takes care of making a living. I don't know exactly what prompted taller women to date me. I simply asked a taller woman for a date. I have no secret, sure fire, applies in all situations pick up lines.
As for sex: if we were face to face-my feet were in it & if we were feet to feet-my face was in it. We both had fun.

I'm 5'5", and used to date a lass who was 6-foot. No problems between us and yes "llsouthern1988" the fit possibilities were amazing.

However, everyone else looked at us wierd. And during the years I was internet dating (don't knock it, overall a positive experience, especially for someone who lives in a tiny town) it was obvious: Most women want a guy who was 6-foot or taller, with long hair. Period.

In the end, it didn't matter. But short guys better get used to a lot more rejections, and a lot more rude ones, than even the usual slap-down. It was rarely just a 'no thanks.'And I'm physically fit. I can only imagine what it's like for a short guy with a spare tire, or male balding pattern.

In the end I found a lass who didn't care...she's 5'3". And it's great.

But for social critics who claim that this heightism doesn't exist, get real. And for those who claim that fascination with appearance is a distinctly American phenomenon...well, you must live somewhere other than planet earth.

My wife has 4 inches on me and she's awesome.
While it takes a confident man to date a taller woman it also takes a confident woman to date a shorter man. The societal pressures to conform are the same on both.
That said, we're very happy together.
