Olbermann Timeline: How The Bush Administration Exploited Terror Threats For Political Gain, 2002-2008

In case you missed it, on Thursday night's "Countdown" Keith Olbermann presented an impressively detailed timeline he called "The Nexus of Politics and Terror," in which he chronicled the Bush administration's exploitation of terror threats for political gain. Olbermann's exhaustive account weaves from each revelation of an intelligence failure or a Democratic political victory to an almost immediate orange alert or "new threat" from al Qaeda.

The clip is 17 minutes long and entirely worth it, and its conclusion — "what we were told about terror, and not told, for security reasons, has overlapped considerably with what we were told about terror, and not told, for political reasons" — is a dutiful summary of the past six years.

This segment from Olbermann was about how the terror alert would rise fromm yellow to orange (with no real explanation why) just before certain events.

Were we really in danger of a terrorist attach before these events?

If we were, can any details be given, any proof?

Were there any terrorists captured?

Or could it just be that the reasons behind these alert levels were raised because it might cause people to contact their elected officials to vote a certain way or for the people to vote for Republicans in an election?

Conservatives think (oxymoron, I know), that liberals don't understand that terrorism is a problem. Their solution to Islamic radicalism is to start their own ChristoFascist Crusade against whole countries, grabbing their resources and blatantly profiteering along the way.

Our solution is to deal with the causes, not corruptly exacerbate them. Fuck the MIC and their desire for perpetual war and fuck big oil too, they've been screwing US all too long! It's just so amusing how these people try and refute facts and dates, they all end up looking like fools! To answer your question, I'd say a couple lakes full of Kool-aide and about 500 fleets of cement trucks. (apparently there's a lot of these thick-headed dopes, it's at least 32% of the population)
