Olbermann Timeline

In case you missed it, on Thursday night's "Countdown" Keith Olbermann presented an impressively detailed timeline he called "The Nexus of Politics and Terror," in which he chronicled the Bush administration's exploitation of terror threats for political gain. Olbermann's exhaustive account weaves from each revelation of an intelligence failure or a Democratic political victory to an almost immediate orange alert or "new threat" from al Qaeda.

The clip is 17 minutes long and entirely worth it, and its conclusion — "what we were told about terror, and not told, for security reasons, has overlapped considerably with what we were told about terror, and not told, for political reasons" — is a dutiful summary of the past six years.

This expose should be the real beginning of the criminal indictments against the vast crime syndicate that has taken the US government. Only problem, both sides of the political fence are directly involved. There are no non-partisan organizations within the government to make any indictments happen. The entire government has long since been compromised. And now it is a criminal enterprise that will not stop until it is stopped...and yet, there is no one to stop them. Clearly they will not do this voluntarily. There will be no Nixon style resignation for this President, since he knows he will be protected at all costs.

The motivation behind all of this is, typically, power and control...and not necessarily in that order. Money is the key to power in this world, and power is the key to control. And control has been taken of the entire fifth estate, herein expressed as the press. The level of complicity is stunning and complete. There are differences designed into the system, so that contrasts can be derived, and accusations made, and enemies created, for it is enemies and fear that drive the entire engine of fraud, corruption and mayhem and murder on a global scale. The control is in the hands of sociopaths who know no limits, and who use psychopaths as their action officers...much like Ronald Reagan used HW Bush as his action officer on Iran/Contra and god knows what other nefarious activities that saw the deaths of uncounted tens of thousands of innocent third world people.

FDR once said, the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself. Today, the only thing the Republicans (who are the vanguard) fear, is a lack of fear, a courageous backlash against this criminality, and thus, every move they make ist to keep the American public off-balance, and living in a state of fear. We have become, to twist a phrase, the land of the home (homeland), which is free of the brave.

Americans need to find their courage again, and not be afraid.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." -- Edmund Burke

"Free government is founded in jealousy, not confidence. It is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions, to bind those we are obliged to trust with power.... In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in men, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution." -- Thomas Jefferson, 1799

I'd like to see Keith- or someone- do a similar timeline slotting in celeb media circus events like Britney or A.N. Smith to see what real issue exactly it was they were pushing out of the headlines on those days, far too numerous as they were. And are, that is.

Kieth redoubtably knows how to do his homework. Seems a shame though that he's about the only one capable of deliberately managing the time to develop comprehensive journalism of relevance regarding these issues.

I'd like to he appointed to editor in chief to an organization willing to ensure his take on things is more than a once in a while thing.

With diligence of this caliber we could likely see the bastards responsible up before people capable of making them accountable.

And hopefully responsibly required to pay for these crimes.

Check out Bill Moyer's Journal, NOW, and Jon Stewart's The Daily Show. Moyer's is actually incredible on a weekly basis, and he had Keith on for one of his shows.

I watch CNN and MSNBC much too much, but I get my NEWS from Democracy Now! and Air America Radio. (BTW) I agree that Dr. Rachael Maddow deserves her own (MSNBC) TV show. Perhaps Kieth and Rachael could do a 2 hour show?

I feel that "We have nothing to fear, but fear itself", that is unless I am thinking about Bush and the Republicans and I am scared shitless.

I guess when Bush leaves office next year, Keith OverRated will be able to devote his entire show to bashing O'Reilly.

Check the scoreboard Keith, you are getting your ass kicked.

Talk about overrated, Oreally is a liar. A hateful distortion of truth mixed with meanness and that is the Oreally show. Lynching. Veterans living below underpasses. And Ohiomark sucks it up like it is mothers milk. The scoreboard? Who cares? What is your point of ignoring the subject that baby bush has led America around by their nose with fear? All you can talk about is Oreally. Are ratings and that show so important to you? How sad you have such a shallow existence. Limpballs. Cuntler. Silly Savage. All of them are headed out the door. Why? Because the truth is coming out and the idiots who have supported these liars and their lies for all this time are unpatriotic. Hatred is not a family value unless you are a right wing conservative christofascist. Praise Geesus and save marriage with hate messages. Ohiomark is part off the 18% who still supports wiretapping, torture, renditions, murder, sanctity of life except when it comes to muslims, gays, liberals, anyone who doesn't wave the bible around as the truth. Wake up. Liberals are the mainstream of living and life. We believe in helping other people, seniors, children, those who struggle from other countries. We believe in saving the water, land, air, fair taxes, saving social security, equal rights for all, including gays. A government by and for the people. These are things which should be important to all Americans but to a few, vocal, fringe element radical christians, they care only about saving marriage. They have never been able to explain how 3% of gays who would get married would destroy marriage. It is like in the 60's when people who lived together would destroy marriage. It did not happen. Through fear the christofascist, have with the ignorance of the bible thumpers, passed laws in some states where ignorance prevails to discriminate against gay people. Fear. It is what has made religion what it is today. Weak people fed fear, led by fear mongers dressed as reasonable people. Look at Pat Robertson. He talks to gawd and gawd tells him that leaders of other countries need to die. Gawd tells Pat muslims are doomed. Gawd tells Pat to spread fear while his producer snorts another line. And gawd and Pat just laugh about it. The whole article is about fear, not Oreally. Does Mr Olbermann threaten the radicals so much they cannot even address the substance of the article? Fear is the basis of christian beliefs. Bush has fed these people what they are taught to believe.

It only took Bush 7 years to undue what the Founding Father fought and built over the course of the late 18th century.

If you pay attention, you don't need Olberman to figure this out.
Creating enemies is easier than forming friendships - human trait.
