"The View" Voices Displeasure At Oscar's Whoopi Omission

My Gawd the earth stopped turning because of Whoopie's omission from the Oscar montage.

This represents women at their finest.

I don't think it was intentional. More inclined to feel it was a regrettable oversight due to the short preparation time this year.

Love ya, Whoop. You were a great host every time.

Please...I was more astounded with the Roy and Brad miss in the memorials.

I am a 50 year old white woman...Jon Stewart rocks....white boy club....I do not think so..

Many people need to get a life...Maybe it was the fact that they had 0 time to get ready.

This Oscar was the best in years....the kids from ONCE were great...the adorable french girl...lots of crying newbies...and the Cohen Brothers....Jon Stewart is a wonderful host and actually funny.
I am a Hilary girl....there is nothing anti-girl about Jon Stewart or this Oscar.....
Maybe Whoopi they thought was just not that funny, I think she was great but abit ahead of her time on the Oscars.

The Oscars were great and so was SNL.

The View is not great.

Anyone who thinks this show was designed to hurt Whoopi Goldberg's feelings is guessing.

What was the purpose of hurting Whoopi's feelings?

When the producers where going over the list of former hosts and academy winners, they purposedly skipped over Whoopi's name. If Whoopi didn't care, the remarks would be that she is ungrateful for what the Academy Award did for her career.

These are mean thoughtless people running the Academy Awards. I wonder if their human enough to apologize to Whoopi?

I noticed it and I thought that maybe I had just missed it by blinking. I also noticed that the In Memoriam section didn't show the, recently deceased, Brad Renfro. I thought that was also quite odd. I think it was just a botched job from start to finish but I have to admit that I still enjoyed them. I had actually seen all the Best Movie selections and that was probably why.

I wouldn't worry Whoopi. No one watched the Oscars anyway.

Maybe it is because she was a terrible host! Those four years were the worst ever! Jon Stewart was brilliant! Dumb people just don't "get" him or his comedy!

Eh, she should be relieved. The whole show was a yawn, and even John Stewart was off his game, with only a couple of good lines. (and this is with the writers back?)

What was the purpose of this "pity party"?

It seems to me, that if "WE" as a Society want a More Intelligent and better informed Public, that "Day Time" TV programming would be centered around those principals.

Now I know for some odd reason, some people see this program, "The View" as "informed" programming, and maybe watching these has-beens jabber on about nothing is the extent of intelligent discourse these people can absorb.

It seems to me, that programming that revolved around the Actual People & Events that are taking place around the Country & The World, and I don't mean all the "Horrible Americans", wrenching the Lollypops out of the hands of precious Children, but instead let's highlight the True Shining Beacons of Humanity and Business that make our standards of living possible in the USA.

I honestly believe that if we had programming that Educated & Inspired the "Couch Potatoes", to get off their Fat Asses and realize that they have only one life and to up and get out and live it to it's potential, would not only benefit the Individual, but our Society as a whole.

Programming that Extols the Hard work & Rewards of becoming a Scientist, a Doctor, a Researcher, an Engineer, a Business Executive... or any of the myriad of career choices that are available and sadly to say, that are being met by Imported Immigrants or "Out-Sourcing" these Highly paid jobs.

Oh,I know a lot of people will say, "BORING!!!, Harrumph!!!", but shouldn't that be the goal? To get those uninspired, chronic over-eating, under-achieving, "Hypo-Toads" re-engaged? And if during the day, they can see that their is real people enjoying life, and making real contributions to it, and if Boring Day-time TV does that, by making them turn off the "Boob-Tube", and getting off their Couches and getting back into their communities, wouldn't that Inclusion be the Ultimate Goal of a More Perfect Union?

Or do we continue to try to mesmerize the under-educated with "New & Improved" forms of Soap Suds interspersed with the Nonsense?

Steve Martin got left out as well..go figure.

I agree she was slighted. But, just to clarify, she was not the first Oscar winner to host the show. Frank Sinatra, Jack Lemmon and David Niven all hosted after winning their Oscars.

I saw the clip of Whoopi getting her Oscar. But you right I didn't see Ellen either.

I doubt it was a deliberate snub but its pretty sad that they couldn't show someone who'd hosted several times. Did they show any of Crystal's shtick?

That's the problem with throwing the show together as fast as they did. Not enough time to vet everything out.

Or maybe, Jon's just a dick. Who can tell.

Jon Stewart and his writers have never been ones to include minorities. They talk about minorities a lot but never include them on their show. It's an all-white-boy party at The Daily Show with rare exceptions.

I am sorry. The Oscars NEED Billy Crystal. He can sing, dance, tell jokes, and keep the event moving. Although it would be interesting to try Steven Colbert, as I think he may be able to sing and dance as well.

I think I much prefer Ellen's performance over Whoopi. Whoopi had too many cringe moments that were not really Oscar-worthy.

Whoopi would make a wonderful president she knows the plight of the poor, and she's a fair minded person with a big heart, it's sad to hurt others feelings hopefully it was an oversight and little more, I'd vote for someone like Whoopi in a NY minute at least the poor would be fed! GB Whoopi and sorry that kind of thing would cast a gray cloud over someone who is a ray of sunshine. I'm glad I didn't watch that idiotic award show. I never agree with whom they deam the best anyway. Award shows are bunk. Didn't miss u Whoopi as I didn't watch the jaded high brow bs, face it the shows I would have screamed Oscar was the movie with Will Smith Last Man Standing a real good piece. Is it too late to vote?

It would have been better had she addressed the issue with Whoopi off-air.
