Bill Cunningham Defends Controversial Obama Comments, Offers To Endorse Clinton

So after dropping three "Barack Hussein Obama" bombs at a McCain event, Cincinnati talk show host Bill Cunningham appeared on "Hannity & Colmes" to express his dismay that McCain had taken the politically necessary step of disavowing the comments.

And, clearly enjoying his 15 minutes, Cunningham then offered his endorsement of Hillary Clinton.

But not before he accused Obama of being a "Manchurian Candidate."

Now Cunningham clearly doesn't care, but do mainstream conservatives really want to go down this road?

Sean Hannity defended the use of "Hussein," noting, "That is his name isn't it?"

Right, because Cunningham was just being fully descriptive.

Watch the video of Cunningham on Hannity & Colmes below:

Read here about what got Cunningham into trouble in the first place.

What a dirtbag.

Why is this obvious racist given a forum to propagate his racist rhetoric on Huffington Post??

It's not McCain that embarrassed the conservatives, it's this fellow Cunningham who did the embarrassing! But then these conservative talk radio hosts and hostesses have been embarrassing themselves and the Republican Party for years, now. Like a bad muffler on a car they're loud and you can't shut 'em up. What they do is take up air time that could better be used playing a little Willie Nelson.
David Perkins in Fort Worth.

Just as I suspected, McCain sicced Cunningham on Obama, and then feigned ignorance. If McCain thinks that race-baiting will win him the election, he has another think coming.

Les Nessman should have dropped this asinine Cincinnati turkey out of the WKRP helicopter when he had the chance.

Another gaseous windbag conservative, nothing he said sounded very conservative. More like an immature crybaby whining because someone hurt his precious feelings. Whaaaa!

Looks like these right wing gas bags are having to really shout to get heard these days.

Yes, of course it is wrong, and of course we ought to stand up and say so, and not sit by while these racist and absurdist comments go by - they shouldn't go by unchecked.

We must also watch out for group-think in the sense of a herd mentality. Folks suggesting various punishments for those who talk crazy like this.

It is easier than that. Stop supporting them. Stop watching them. Spread information - in a factual way without being hateful - education is always the key that will finally lift us out of this mental poverty.

I agree that these lunatics should be exposed and to whatever extent possible, shunned (hit the off button and complain). I do not agree that "we" should decide "who" should get punished or how regarding these stupid comments. Eventually, it will turn into the same old thing again. It is always "us" against "them". But you know what? We ARE them! As Pogo once said: "We have met the enemy, and he is us!"

Let's be intelligent. Let's broadcast our dissaproval and stop catering to these clowns. Let's stand up for what is right. Let's expose these hateful things. Let's NOT form a mob, and turn into the very thing we are trying to squelch! Ideas must be exchanged in a free society. Let's put more of our groovy ideas out to combat this insanity.

At the same time, let us be a bit louder about prosecuting the truly criminal, like the Bush Whitehouse crime organization, etc.

We have fallen into a trap of letting big brother take care of us. Letting the current media dictate our thinking. Getting riled and creating more violence.

Let's turn off the Hannitys and O'Reilly's for one, and have a never ceasing battle of complaint to the supporters of these lunatics.

Shine some light! That's what makes the cockroaches scurry!

I am praying that we all look inside ourselves and ask a simple question:

Is this acceptable?

If it is not acceptable, are we going to allow it?

I would argue that John McCain's apology is not enough, but I wouldn't rely upon him to act on our behalf.

I believe we are on the threshold of an incredible movement, a rare historical event. And I believe that scares the c**p out of the far right extremists that thought they had taken over the country for good on behalf of big business.

So, they are shouting "fire" in our American political theater. And, if we let them - all of them, not just the wacko in Cincinnati - get away with it, our country will never truly be our own. For, we will have ceded the airwaves - OUR AIRWAVES (they are public property) - to a cabal of extremist bigots whose job description happens to be the broadcast of a 24 hour a day, seven day a week radical right wing, pro big business, anti-middle class commercial.

So, how do we retaliate?

Easy.

Please, please, please - regardless of how fascinated you might be by the daily stream of lies, smears and surreal spin that whistles out the copious gobs of guys like Rush and Glenn and Sean and Bill and your local wackboys - PLEASE . . .

Turn it off. Boycott it. Email everyone you know and let them know that this will only stop when their ratings plummet. Trust me, the sponsors will follow.

As you know, this religiously and culturally bigoted tripe is dangerous. It LEADS to violence - to the harming of actual, innocent human beings. It is no different than garden variety racism or homophobia.

For crying out loud, did we NOT HEAR Bill O'Reilly call for a "lynch mob" for Michelle Obama ON NATIONAL FREAKING TELEVISION????

What are we doing? If this isn't the time to act, when might that time arrive? I mean, think of it, they're actually trying to drive a wedge between African-Americans and the Jewish community while they endlessly spew hatred towards anyone other than wealthy fundamentalists. They're dangerous. They're radical reactionaries. They might even be aptly described as fascists. They DO NOT belong on the radio.

And if you've no time to do more than just turning these scumbags off and emailing EVERYONE you know to let them know why they should do the same, then great! That's more than enough.

I mean, really, the Tennessee Republican Party issued a rehash of this crapola in a press release this very day.

I'm guessing that these fruitloops think that the best way to build enduring and stable relationships in the Middle East is to mock anyone with a name common in the Middle East.

Just turn these freaks off. Please. BOYCOTT TALK RIGHTIOT RADIO. And if you've a free moment email their sponsors, their affiliates and anyone clickable anywhere on their subpage at your local station to let them know that you're neither a listener of their program nor a buyer of the products or services advertised on their program.

We gotta shut these guys down. They're going to smear this thing. They're afraid. Very afraid. They know what happens when the American people believe in something - when we wake up from our apathy and stand together. They know and they're willing to do anything to muddy our party and our most likely candidate.

And it will work if we don't fight them tooth and nail beginning right now.

Please BOYCOTT TALK RIGHTIOTS and tell everyone you know to do the same. Right now.

For what it's worth, a Google search for "Bill Cunningham is a lunatic" yielded over 16,000 responses.

We all know it ain't worth much.

Not listening to them and letting everyone we know - via email, phone and water cooler conversations - why they, too, should BOYCOTT TALK RIGHTIOT RADIO will be worth an awful lot.

Trust me, when their ratings plummet the sponsors will follow. And no corporation, regardless of how right wing its ownership, gives a flying intimate moment about politics where money's concerned.

Gotta boycott these fruitloops and make it a big deal with everyone we know.

Same thing with any political organization - AND IT'S MAJOR CONTRIBUTORS - like the Tennessee Republican Party, which today sent out a press release that was nothing more than an edited transcription of Herr Cunningham's ansprache.

They need to be called out as bigots and they need to be forced into complete political isolation.

Americans do not support this crap, but if we don't stand up we are no better than any people in history that stood aside while so-called "leaders" and mobs bullied their way to dictatorial power.

I think a very appropriate afterlife for these asshole media mouthpieces for the right, is for all of them to be placed in the same room (somewhere within the ninth circle of hell), and force them to listen to each other for eternity. When they realize that there is no one else to defame, they'll tear each other to shreds.

Just gotta BOYCOTT THEM.

I didn't hear Clinton 'reject' Cunningham's endorsement, she only 'denounced' it. She needs to send a strong message by 'rejecting and denouncing' his endorsement.

Can't and shouldn't lump Hillary in with these freaks. She's not responsible for this. I support Obama, but I've little doubt that every Hillary supporter abhors this tripe.

Gotta BOYCOTT the TALK RIGHTIOTS.

This headcase is clearly a psychotic racist that will do more harm than good to the Republican Party's efforts.

Actually, he's saying the same thing as Rush, Bill "Lynch Mob for Michelle Obama" Riley, Hannity, and every other TALK RIGHTIOT.

They are ONE VOICE on this. They're going to play this smear all the way to November.

GOTTA STOP LISTENING.

BOYCOTT THEM and email everyone we know to do the same.

No listeners, no ratings. No ratings, no sponsors. No sponsors, no affiliates. No affiliates, no more extremist right wing radio white noise.

Take a good look at this guy, HuffPo Obama haters--you know who you are. This is your company.

I support Obama and I know there's not a single Hillary supporter that will stand for this crapola.

We just gotta BOYCOTT them. Turn them off and email everyone we know to do the same. It'll only take a couple thousand forwards to hit a tipping point.

No listeners, no ratings. No ratings, no sponsors. No sponsors, no affiliates. No affiliates, no more extremist right wing radio white noise. (Forgive the repetition.)
