From National Review Online:
I'm devastated to report that our dear friend, mentor, leader, and founder William F. Buckley Jr., died overnight in his study in Stamford, Connecticut.
After year of illness, he died while at work; if he had been given a choice on how to depart this world, I suspect that would have been exactly it. At home, still devoted to the war of ideas.

I dunno, people thought he was a genius, a great writer. I'll never know why.

I had a hard time making it through more than a few paragraphs before giving up. And I have two college degrees. It was as if Buckley convoluted his sentences on purpose. Injected seldom-used words whenever he could, as if that somehow made his points clearer to the reader.

Then again, a lot of people get IMPRESSED by fancy writing they don't really understand. Maybe by pretending to understand they think more of THEMSELVES. Why I read WFB!!!!

Just try and read Scientology or the Urantia book. And those books draw millions of believers. More babble that's incomprehensible even to someone who's read for a lifetime.
