The man has a good heart and a generous spirit (which -- lagniappe -- is the key to aging gracefully). He and his wife work very hard to improve the lot of those less fortunate. Bless them.

Brad Pitt is a star, no doubt. But his films lately have not been particulary good. The Ocean films were vanity projects, as was Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and made money, not because they were well done, but because they were fillied with the actors du jour. Years from now these films will be used as fine examples of commercial mannipulation of the not too discriminating movie goer. I believe Brad does have some acting chops and he seems more substantial as a concerned citizen and parent than as an actor. Maybe that will not change if Sean Penn can produce another quality film with him in itso he can be regarded as an artist as well.

I take it, lippp, you haven't seen "Babel" or "The Assassination of Jesse James" ? Brad has never been better than in those two films! These performances bode very well for "The Curious Cases of Benjamin Bottom", "Burn After Reading" and "Tree of Life". I can't think of anyone on a better high artistically. His Jesse James was the finest male acting of 2007. Brilliant!

Let's not forget his roll as an Irish Pykey boxer that nobody could understand in Snatch. Hilariously violent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdlE5G6S47c&feature=related

Turkish:
"It turns out that the sweet-talking, tattoo-sporting Pikey was a Gypsy bare-knuckle boxing champion, which makes him harder than a coffin nail. "

Ah ha! I can see the ravages of age starting to tug at the face of the American Apollo! He's been too beautiful for too long! Justice is served! The eyes grow hollow and watery. Crow's feet become canyons. Bags form. Jowls wobble. Skin blotches. . . . Oh shit. That's me in the mirror.

Well anyway, Brad is aging, but he's no flash in the pan pretty boy. He'll age nicely like Cary Grant and his roles will grow with him. Gotta love a fellow Missouri Boy made good. Haven't had one since Truman.

Brad is awesome - and he and Sean Penn - brilliant.

As for the hater who doesn't understand why Brad is "still considered to be a star,"

What planet do you live on? Even if this guy wasn't a good actor,

he is drop dead handsome. We are talking Hollywood not rocket science...

He was handsome when he was younger, but to quote him, he long ago lost his boyhood good looks. However, I think he is a great person, I am so glad he is now a good operson and not his former airheadself. getting rid of Jen was the best thing he could do.

I really don't understand how a guy whose movies flop more often than not is still considered to be a star.

What? The Ocean movies... Mr. & Mrs. Smith was huge.... what are you talking about. Don't be a hater, just admit that you personally don't like him. Why make stuff up?
