At a town hall meeting in Richardson, Texas, Thursday afternoon, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., made a gaffe that will surely provide myriad conservative radio talk show hosts confirmation of their views, by accidentally calling himself a liberal.

"I will conduct a respectful debate," McCain told the crowd at Texas Instruments, per ABC News' Bret Hovell. "Now, it will be spirited because there are stark differences. I am a proud conservative, liberal Republica--- conservative Republican," he said, catching himself. "Hello?" he said as the crowd laughed. "Easy there."

He really is senile.

He can't remember all his lies or keep his facts straight. He never thinks he did anything wrong because he simply can't remember. He doesn't remember that he used to be against torture. He forgets what his positions are, that's why it's not a flip flop.

Brain deterioration is rapid at his age:

Given John McCain's slip of the tongue, I wonder how more times he will screw up. Pehaps this old dog should just hang up the jock stramp and go back to Arizonia where he can't do much damage. Certainly, we don't what this guy sitting in the oval office screwing up!

That was no slip of the tongue. He IS a liberal Republican, at least in the eyes of the extemist right wing. He's a lot more progressive, or as Democrats like to say, centrist, than the loonies are comfortable with. However, he's their only choice, so he might as well 'slip' and admit he's what he is.

and Obama won't even admit he's a liberal. He tried to weasel out of it in the debate. BHO! BHO!

Obama has called himself progressive. Hillary has called herself......I'm not sure.

There was a time when one could be a liberal and be a Republican, but you'd never know it to listen to all the propaganda from the folks who have hijacked the GOP.

I would say it was a Freudian slip, but everyone knows rock-ribbed conservative war heroes like McCain are too tough for wussy psychobabble bullshit like that. Right?

TRUTH ABOUT JOHN "MCCRAZY" MCCAIN. The guy was posted up with two "me so horny" hookers the whole time he was in captivity in a private apartment. The other POWs said they rarely saw him, when the Viet Cong found out who he was they gave him special treatment.

Holy crap, that "me so horny" line is the funniest thing I've seen on Huff for a long time! Thanks for the laugh.

Mcbush fun facts:

McBush cheated on his ex-wife Carol after she got in a car accident, even though she had waited for him faithfully during his POW years.

He left her for his current trophy wife, Cindy, the drug addict millionaire.

Now it turns out he cheated on her with Vicki Iseman, a lobbyist.

Where is Vicki, by the way? I think it would be great if the press could finally ask her some questions. Is she in hiding?

The press needs to keep asking Mcbush: "Senator, Where is Vicki?"

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:41 PM on 02/29/2008

Yes, jesus was a liberal, and no, christians don't want to be like him. They just want to claim that they love him so much. That's as far as christianity goes. The sad truth is that , if jesus were to appear today, in our world, the so called christians would be the ones who would crucify him, because he would be speaking out against the pointless war and destruction that modern day christians wholeheartedly support.

I love the fact that McCrazy brought up Canada in his twisted NAFTA argument. Canadians hate absolutely hate Bush and will hate if McCrazy became president because McCrazy would keep us in Iraq and continue to not live up to America's bargain in Afghanistan. I cannot wait to see the Canadian headlines tomorrow in response to McCrazy's comments.

We may not have to worry about this one. I have said all along that McC too old, and, yes, he is senile. He proved this in one of his Alzheimer moments. His blunder in who he was and who he thought that he was, was my proof. McC will wake up soon, and will not even remember that Obama is in WH, Troops will be on the way home, and this war will be almost if not completely OVER. Tell JMcC that help is on the way for him and the Vets left behind. He, nor Hillary got it for My husband, et al, for their PTSS but Obama will take care of this. We need our Wounded soldiers taken care of and healed, not ending up retaliating for their wounds. We praise McC for his service, but he needs to leave off the idea of being Pres. This is just not what America needs. Vote a real and whole man, Obama in 08

Isn't that the truth. Anyone who would vote for Mcpain needs their head examined. He's another Bush.

We can't afford 12 $$$ million a month for a war that should never be in...not to mention 4000 lives that have been lost.

God help us all if he becomes the next prez.

I got to give you some straight talk my friends this is a tough war we're in. It's not going to be over right away. There's going to be other wars. I'm sorry to tell ya, there's gonna be other wars. We will never surrender but there will be other wars. And right now we've gotta...we're gonna have allot of PTSD to treat my friends. We're gonna have allot of combat wounds that have to do with these terrible explosive IEDs that inflict such severe wounds. And my friends it's going to be tough.

McCain is a senile old fool.

Everything is "cut and run" with him! It is the most goddamn pathetic excuse. McCain cares about America's honor in leaving Iraq more than he cares about people's lives? Sounds like he is still burning from the way America "disengaged" from Vietnam. And McCain says that America will be occupying Iraq for 100 years -- what about how the Iraqi people feel? I mean, this was all about them after all, right (after the WMD's excuse fell apart)? Freeing them from tyranny? What about the tyranny of occupation by a foreign power? Has McCain checked with the Iraqi people about how they feel about his 100 year occupation deal? McCain lost whatever wisdom he might have gleaned about the horror of war during his experience in Vietnam. He says that he cares about the troops, but it's obvious by the way he talks that he doesn't.

There's nothing wrong with him being a "proud conservative liberal". At least he's honest, even if it was a slip of the tongue.

Yeah, but he said he is a proud liberal conservative and that is different.

At this point there are no accidents.
This "slip" is McCain's way of courting the left, pretending to be a closet liberal.
He's no liberal. Think of him in the arms of GW Bush.

Liberal Republican is a valid term. The US Conservative party is a branch of the Liberal movement anyway, so what's the big deal? Just because people like Jonah Goldberg further the myth that being called a 'liberal' is a bad thing? there are republican and democratic liberals.

Actually, I think Senator McCain handled his Freudian slip pretty well. However, there is something much more sinister to be seen in the video. I mentioned this earlier today on this same thread, but I think it bears repeating: Look at the video closely. What's missing? That's right, McCain is not wearing an American flag pin on his lapel. In the last few days conservo-turds have been suggesting that Senator Obama is unpatriotic because he doesn't wear such a pin. By republican logic, and according their very own argument, John McCain has clearly proven that he hates America.

McCain should be called before the Tennessee party, put to trial. and asked to explain the lack of a flag pin in his lapel. If a satifactory explanation is not forthcoming he should be waterboarded untill such time has he gives the information we need.

Repubs have failed miserably on every front. Repub strong points - lying, cheating, stealing, and outsourcing American jobs. Heckuva job rethugs!

Ammo:

The Republicans have made a campaign issue out of flag pins. It is now incumbent upon them to explain why Senator Obama's patriotism can be questioned because he doesn't wear one, but not Senator McCain's.
