John McCain 'Accidentally' Calls Himself A "Liberal Republican"

At a town hall meeting in Richardson, Texas, Thursday afternoon, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., made a gaffe that will surely provide myriad conservative radio talk show hosts confirmation of their views, by accidentally calling himself a liberal.

"I will conduct a respectful debate," McCain told the crowd at Texas Instruments, per ABC News' Bret Hovell. "Now, it will be spirited because there are stark differences. I am a proud conservative, liberal Republica--- conservative Republican," he said, catching himself. "Hello?" he said as the crowd laughed. "Easy there."

Fed doesn’t expect full economic recovery before 2010, Bernanke says

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke warned Thursday that the U.S. economy is going to get worse before it gets better, and is unlikely to return to good health for nearly two years.

Not until 2010 does the Fed see the economy fully recovering to the point where the employment picture is improving rather than deteriorating, he told the Senate Banking Committee.

“By 2010, our most recent projections show output growth picking up to rates close to or a little above its longer-term trend and the unemployment rate edging lower,” he said.

To put that in perspective, the last two recessions (2001 and 1990-1991) each lasted only eight months.

McCain also accidentally confessed to being a whore for George Bush. "Yea,, my friends, he's (Bush) i definitely my pimp daddy," said a grinning McCain as aides rushed to shut off the podium microphone. " The crowd of white people clapped politely, but some looked at each other in disbelief.
The Senator was rushed from the stage by two aides, yet the senator seemed to be cackling. Some onlookers swear they heard the Senator scream, "And there ain't no God either!" before aides piled him into a waiting SUV.
The footage of the event was mysteriously blacked out by all CBS affiliates.

Off-topic, I realize...but I just ran across some information I saved a while back about Robert Gates' involvement in selling illegal arms to Iraq back when Carlos Cardoen was doing it for the U.S. during Bush One's time in office. Three journalists who were investigating all of the dirty dealings that the Bush One administration were involved in at the time were murdered.

I also ran across this piece that says that Enron was a money-laundering operation for both Bush One and Bush Two. That's why Ken Lay had to be killed. As the article states, George Galloway was right when he said "there is enough evidence on Bush and Blair to park them in prison cells in The Hague for an awfully long time."

Addendum to above link.......also includes lots of stuff on Bush's sister, Dorothy (or Doro) whose in-laws sent over ONE MILLION to Saddam Hussein for repayment for access to Iraqi oil when it was supposedly against the law. The oil-for-food scandal reached right into the very family of the guy who stole two elections to become president in this country.

This was no 'accident'. Few politicians say anything that isn't well-planned in a presidential race if they expect to last very long. None of what Obama, Clinton, Huckabee, McCain, or Rommney says is unrehearsed and not carefully crafted.

McCain's strategy is to appeal to those who would have voted for Clinton but don't want to vote for Obama. So he needs to appear to move a bit to the left. This 'slip' was anything but.

OK, sonny, as a 70 year old, I agree that, from my observation of him, he can't cut it. His election would be as much about who his running mate/successor would be. His mother may be 95, but how old was his father. Seventy plus shouldn't be a barrier but it appears so here. BTW, if you're going to say it, it's TOO old.

McCain is only ten years older than Hillary Clinton, and age isn't an issue with her...If you're going to bring up age and dementia, look no further than Sen. Robert Byrd(D)-ex KKK. And he's third in line to the presidency. I would like to see the keyboard warriors here try to keep up with McCain for one day on the campaign trail. Libbys are supposed to be against discrimination, is age discrimination any different? I know a few people in their 80's who are pretty sharp.
