At a town hall meeting in Richardson, Texas, Thursday afternoon, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., made a gaffe that will surely provide myriad conservative radio talk show hosts confirmation of their views, by accidentally calling himself a liberal.

"I will conduct a respectful debate," McCain told the crowd at Texas Instruments, per ABC News' Bret Hovell. "Now, it will be spirited because there are stark differences. I am a proud conservative, liberal Republica--- conservative Republican," he said, catching himself. "Hello?" he said as the crowd laughed. "Easy there."

I cant wait for the general election - Mccain has about as much energy as a turtle. So far he's running the same attacks that Clinton did against Obama. How's that working out for Clinton?

I hope you're right but I thought no way in hell Bush would get elected again. Then they got clever and put gay marriage on the ballot -- republicans ran to the polls with their hair on fire. I'm bracing myself for another such clever stunt, don't know what it could be but no one saw that gay marriage thing coming either. Don't be fooled, the republicans are not going down without a fight they are cooking up something believe me. I wouldn't be surprised if we starting seeing the orange, red blue warnings again.

I love McCrazy's circular logic trying to link NAFTA to the war in Afghanistan. Canada wants out of Afghanistan because the US has diverted so many of our forces to Iraq, not because of NAFTA. Canada and NATO feel abandoned in Afghanistan because the US has not lived up to our side of the bargain. Also Canada is not the side of the NAFTA agreement that Americans have a problem with because Canada is AHEAD of the US when it comes to pay, labor standards and the environment. Believe me I worked in the Paper Industry and Canada has a much higher percentage of paper workers in unions than the US. There is one mane reason why US jobs are moving to Canada because it costs companies $800/employee for health care, while it costs US employers $6000/employee for health care. So if we fix our health care system that problem goes away. Mexico and the rest of NA are the real problems when it comes to NAFTA because they do not meet any of the labor or environmental standards of the US.

If we 'dis' Canada on NAFTA, do you think they'll support us in Afghanistan? The logic is CLEAR. YOUR logic is quite muddled. Canada wants other NATO countries (EUROPE) to FIGHT. Not hang around Kabul. And Canada's GDP doesn't equal CALIFORNIA. Their standard of living is lower than ours. Their healthcare system is in dissarray and GOING BROKE. Canada leads in LUMBER products and HOCKEY teams.

"Their standard of living is lower than ours. Their healthcare system is in dissarray and GOING BROKE. Canada leads in LUMBER products and HOCKEY teams."

Now who the fuck is dissing Canada idiot?

For the real facts of the Canadian health care system check out the following link. Right wingers like you propagate myths about universal health care because McCrazy does not have a fucking clue what good health care means.

http://www.pnhp.org/news/2008/february/10_myths_about_canad.php

"The percentage of Canadians who’d consider giving up their beloved system consistently languishes in the single digits. A few years ago, a TV show asked Canadians to name the Greatest Canadian in history; and in a broad national consensus, they gave the honor to Tommy Douglas, the Saskatchewan premier who is considered the father of the country’s health care system."

Obama could be one of the Greatest American presidents in history if he gets universal health care passed. While Bush is already viewed as one of the worse presidents ever and McCrazy would be WORSE. The last poll I saw said that over 60% of those polled thought that US health care system needed a major overhaul.

McCain needs to answer for accepting the endorsement of John Hagee.

I hope so, McCain and Liberman the over hill gang, as well as Tom Delay were pandering to this lunatic and his crazy Christian Zionist followers in Washington last fall. It was quite a spectacle watching a bunch of cult followers running around in what they think are Israeli peasant costumes, waving American and Israeli flags with God hates fags signs around their necks. When I was a kid, this was called a cult. The image of McCain and Liberman pandering to this bunch of nuts would scare most mainstream Americans, yet no MSM journalist will ask McCain about being endorsed by Hagee. I’m curious why little Tim asked Obama about Louis Farrakhan’s endorsement, which he did not seek. You think McCain took a check from the good reverent and snake oil salesman John Hagee, I bet he did. They’re both down with bombing Iran. I really don’t know why Liberman would show up, John Hagee wants to nuke Iran to save Israel, not because he loves Jews so much, but because he views Jews are failed Christians who must accept Jesus as their savior or die so they can all be Rapture up together in the promised land. If McCain wants to accuse Obama of being an anti-Semite, just make a TV ad of McCain with John Hagee and his band of merry Christian Zionist. I think that guys like Hagee just did too much acid back in the day and thought they saw Jesus, now it pays well really well.

Seems both OBAMA and HILLARY have made contact with the CANUCKS over their NAFTA stance. Both campaigns have tried to reassure what they campaign on in OHIO is NOT what they would do as PRESIDENT.

Can anyone say DISINGENUOUS!

As McFlip-Flop's point of view continues to twist in wind of rightwing sentiment. Amoniaboobie descovers that:

the Canadian embassy in Washington issued a complete denial.

"At no time has any member of a presidential campaign called the Canadian ambassador or any official at the embassy to discuss NAFTA," it said in a statement.

John McCain

The Liberal-Conservative-Republican, the lobbyist candidate for President. The candidate who will preserve NAFTA, who will borrow billions from China so he can spend it in Iraq. The candidate who does not understand the economy. Vote John McCain if you hate America.

McCain Expresses Support for DeMint's Pork Moratorium Amendment
Ed Frank

Good news from the presidential campaign trail this afternoon, via Rob Bluey at RedState -- Sen. John McCain has wholeheartedly endorsed an amendment sponsored by Sen. Jim DeMint that would impose a one-year moratorium on all pork-barrel earmarks:

Seeking to portray Obama as naïve and ill-informed on national security, McCain said, "I have some news — al Qaeda is in Iraq. It's called: 'Al Qaeda in Iraq.'" ( http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=4359635&page=1 )

I have some news McCain is a total incompetent nut.

Slightly un related topic. I just received this Republican Congresional committe survey with some hillarious questions in it.
It is worth reading for the humor of it all. They have fallen so far they have no idea who to hate.

Yes this survey will geive them all the answers they watn to hear, then they can quote "the AMerican people".

Good post and link!

Everyone should click on that link and take their "survey." Here are some of the best questions:

1. Do you support the House Democrats' "slow-bleed" strategy to "choke-off" funding for our troops in Iraq, leading to their withdrawal and a perception of American defeat?

3. Do you agree with the Nancy Pelosi Democrat Majority’s decision to impose massive tax hikes on the American people?

7. Do you support the Democrats’ efforts to give federal government bureaucrats complete control of your health care costs and choices?

You've got to hand it to Republicans.

McLame was a liberal repuke before he stood against them.

He called the chrisofascists evil before he hired them as his warm up act.

Mcinsane called the bush tax cuts irresponsible before he decided the billions in interest on that debt paid to China was a good thing.... For China's military.

Mcbomb wanted to bomb Iran to keep the nation focused on anything but Osama Bin-Laden before he decided bombing Iraq was good enough to keep Bin-Laden safe.

Mcvane hated lobbyists before he filled up his campaign bus with them.

ETC!!!!

Just think about all the money you repukes can save by dusting off and reusing your flip-flop customes from the 2004 GOP convention.

Obama Double-Talk On NAFTA Confirmed: CTV
After reporting on Barack Obama's dance with the Canadians on NAFTA yesterday, Canadian broadcaster CTV got accused of perpetrating a smear against the Democratic front-runner. They insisted that Obama meant every word he said about overturning the free-trade treaty, and that no one had contacted the Canadian diplomatic corps to reassure them that it was mere demagoguery. CTV responded today by naming names -- and suddenly the Obama campaign has grown quiet:

"Senility=insult to old men"

Please try to put two and two together before Democrats for McCain offices pop up in more places than Starbucks.

You're right, and it's too easy a target anyway, like people making fun of Steve Martin's big nose in "Roxanne."

We don't need to resort to attacks like that, because there are plenty of reasons to not vote for McCain based on his flip-floppin' and his scandal-plagued history (S&L fraud, anyone?)

McCain was part of the Keating 5, for crissakes!

quote: The Keating Five were five United States Senators who were accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The five senators, John McCain (R-AZ), Alan Cranston (D-CA), Dennis DeConcini (D-AZ), John Glenn (D-OH), Donald W. Riegle (D-MI), were accused of improperly aiding Charles H. Keating, Jr., chairman of the failed Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, which was the target of an investigation by the Federal Home Loan Bank Board.

After a lengthy investigation, the Senate Ethics Committee determined in 1991 that Alan Cranston, Dennis DeConcini, and Donald Riegle had substantially and improperly interfered with the FHLBB in its investigation of Lincoln Savings, while John Glenn and John McCain had been only minimally involved. The Committee recommended censure for Cranston and criticized the other four for "questionable conduct."
