It's good to hear that the American people are savvy about the mainstream media. Journalists are putzes...they are totally controlled by corporate's best interests...cowards when it comes to reporting the truth. This is good news. I have watched the media's latest spin on yet again another new Hillary, as they promote her candidacy...just in the last few days. I wonder what ax came down on them in order to bring about this new and exciting spin on the old dame. She has six years experience in the Senate...being First Lady for 8 years does not even qualify her to clean the latrines. She is a fraud. God Bless Barack Obama. God Bless America!

Don't worry.
When the world is festooned with cameras
we won't need The "News."

We'll just watch it.

MOST OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE BELIVE THAT REPORTERS AND MEDIA WILL NOT REPORT THE NEWS ANYMORE SINCE THE FOOD LION LAWSUIT THAT COWED THE NEW MEDIA.

THEY ARE ALSO AFRAID OF BEING ON THE BLACK LIST FOR JOBS. THE MEDIA NOW CONTROLS EVERY WORD REPORTED AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THOSE HIGH PAYING JOBS.

BUNCH OF SHEEP SELLING OUT YOUR COUNTRY. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CALL YOURSELVES JOURNLIST!

ENOUGHALREADY13: "Seriously, the first person to come up with a network that is strictly news - unbiased - with be a kagillionaire."
I agree with the point you make about sensationalizing the news. When the shit is hitting the fan, try the BBC and Christian Science Monitor. Good reporters who check facts and take real risks.
Even a potentially educational and useful vehicles, like weather channels resort to using male and female bimbos who say things like: "Well, I guess we'll be battering down the hatches for the next few days!" or "This thing is building up like a tidal warp." "Better stock up on goodies, and DVDs--looks like you folks are going to be bunkering down for a while."

C-SPAN every single morning, Washington Journal, THREE HOURS OF REAL, UNBIASED, ACCURATE news. Only downside, and a small price to pay considering what you get, is it takes viewer calls, so interspersed with real news are dopey people's opinions.

Count me in as part of the 70%.

More importantly and disturbing is they no longer report the news - they create the news and annoint political front-runners.

just like everybody else, the corporate media outlets look out primarily for their own interests. how in the world would anyone even expect objectivity?

However C-span needs to update their taking calls and more importantly

reading emails from viewers. C-span can be very frustrating when you want to ask a guest

a question.

The Internet and Cable Networks are not sources of news for us but outlets proving

just how little NEWS is available.

Another Bush Legacy.

"Who is afraid of the Big Bad Bush?"

ALL PRINTED NEWS. ALL NETWORK NEWS.

Citizens have only one way to find most information, especially about Bush"s Iraq War.

European news outlets.

The media in America is the envy of the rest of the world for the freedom and access it has been granted in the Constitution as well as Legislation. However, there are literally hundreds of thousands of nuances to every broad based political, military, economic, or other related story, and it is impossible to provide those at the level of education and literacy of the average viewer not to mention the alloted time for broadcast. Furthermore, although the internet is a source for information, it is illogical to assert that it is the best or final source of news, the annonymity of authorship, the lack of accountability for false allegations, the complete lack of journalistic guidelines in many cases, and the real time changes to articles and postings make the internet an unreliable source - but it is a good starting point. Unfortunately, the decline in reading in America, coincides with a proportional and steady increase in the rest of the world, we have some of the greatest minds in the world publishing on history, politics, foreign, economic, and domestic policies, but their books are left untouched at the bookstores for pornography, gossip, or other useless products. If the American public wishes to be informed they must engage the lifelong learning process otherwise we, as a nation, will be relegated to an uninformed, unprepared, and out of touch country in this new era.

"The media in America is the envy of the rest of the world..." Didn't we just come in 29th in the world regarding freedom of the press?

Seventy Percent. That sounds about right.

That's probably the same percentage feeling disconnected and creating this ....>

...... the wave of energy the media missed completely. The fact the the candidates don't get it is one thing, but the media? Aren't there endless media outlets with endless employees/journalists supposedly paying attention out there?

This is why I knew the Iraq war was a hoax before everybody else - I had another source of information. And no, it wasn't AP wires on google news, it was independent and foreign news that don't have big fancy websites with a bunch of gee-gaws to distract me, just the news ma'am.

TV news is a joke. Real news get''s thrown under a bus in favor of some celeb''s nip-slip. Calling it the news media is just being polite. It's entertainment. Unless you get your news online, you're not getting the news.
