Tyra Banks Talks Homosexuality With Mike Huckabee

Tyra Banks Talks Homosexuality With Mike Huckabee

  |   February 29, 2008 06:46 PM

Mike Huckabee, who has previously equated homosexuality with necrophilia, pedophilia, and bestiality, while also calling it a choice,
went on "Tyra" to discuss his views on homosexuality. Why "Tyra"? Perhaps because, as Tyra put it, "I love the gays and the gays love me."

I am amussed by the pro-life evangelists.

Does any one know of any pro-life televangelist that has adopted a teenager afflicted with HIV or AIDS???

If all of the fundamentalist evangelicals were honest with their own religion there would be ABSOLUTELY no foster children looking for some one to love and take care of them.

Tyra! You coward!

He said he could disagree with people about a "choice?!?!" Where were you on THAT one?! Should have asked him when he chose not to be queer! (And what made him say no to it.) Softballs all the way! After that, I'm sure plenty of "the gays" no longer "love you."

I'm surprised Huckabee didn't want to do this interview with Britney Spears. He can run circles around Tyra. Huckabee is a HOMOPHOBE. MOST PROBABLY GAY HIMSELF. Remember this freak wanted to quarantine people with AIDS. Remember this guy "preaches" that homosexuality is a CHOICE. Sure, like any sane person would CHOOSE to be ridiculed, beaten up, chastised, teased, mocked and belittled while they were coming of age. THIS GUY IS THE MOST DANGEROUS THING to come down the political pike since Goebells. Oh - and his "sense of humor" - I hear Eichmann was a regular laugh riot when he gave orders to drop Zyclon b.

I think this is the best answer to the whole red herring issue about homexuality being a choice:

Even if being gay is a "lifestyle choice," so is being a Christian, isn't it? I mean, no one holds a gun to your head and says you must be an evangelical Christian. It's your chosen lifestyle. So why is your own choice more worthy of protection than someone else's? Just because you say it is?

Just one question: Tell me when I can expect this hillbilly will return to the gubernatorial double-wide in Arkansas and leave my television screen for the forseeable future? I just want a date. I'll deal with it since my remote has a MUTE button - just give me a date I can target.

Now thta would be fun.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:54 PM on 03/02/2008

Gay is not a choice. Being a narrow-minded Republican is definitely a choice.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 06:36 PM on 03/02/2008

As far as the Bible is concerned, heterosexuality is the direct result of giving over to sin. Heterosexuality is a sinful choice that only those who love sin would make. Just as some people choose to be murderers, rapists or child molesters, people choose to be straight. Yes, I know these sinners often claim that they have deep feelings and uncontrollable urges -- but that's simply Satan at work. The same way people can resist robbing banks, people can resist their twisted heterosexual urges.

OK, so Tyra threw a couple soft ball questions... she's not exactly Christiane Amanpour. I have to give her credit for at least bringing up the subject. That said, I really think it's sad that so many people in this country still call homosexuality a "lifestyle". It's no more a lifestyle than heterosexuality. Being gay is not a choice, you can't choose who you're attracted to or who you fall in love with, it's as simple as that. The fact that gays are denied the same rights as other US citizens is disgusting and shameful... especially when people try to defend it through their religion... puke! To all these right-winging, religious crazies who rail against gays and gay marriage I say get laid already.

Both Hillary and Hucabee went on Tyra Banks to make their statements which could be referred to in the future. They chose Tyra over Diane Sawyer, Brian Williams, Katie Couric and Barbara Walters becuase Tyra is a talk show host for 20 somethings. She is not going to rattle any cages or challenge anyone. Both Hillary and Huckabee overtalked her and got their messages on tape. In the future they both can say I spoke to that issue on the Tyra Banks show ....Tyra do not let your ego get so big, you do not know you are being used !

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 12:44 PM on 03/02/2008

Tyra your were out of your league ...Huckabee is a smooth operatior and very good speaker. You did not help the civil rights movement for Gays like one person said you threw softballs.

Gee Huck, sex is wonderful, an absolute wonderful expression of humanness and soulfulness all rolled in to one. It's the most outside-the-box of human experiences. It's silly to try to wrap boxes around it. Sex just busts right out of them, always. While some of you are trying to make everyone fit your limited definition of sex, the rest of us are out enjoying unbridled joy and celebration. And you're invited!

Heterosexual evangelicals don't want an "out of the box" experience.

Tyra Tyra Tyra. Yes THE GAYS love you, but it's not for your brain. My 8 yo nephew could have come up with better questions on the subject. So many lost opportunities: what about Insurance for partners? visitation rights in hospital? tax benefits? inheritance? Huckabee supports all of the "Protection of Marriage" amendments that would strip couples of these benefits, but Tyra let him come off as a nice guy who is just a little backward, not the bigot who would return unmarried couples (gay & straight) to the Middle Ages.

It isn't about sex.

It isn't about lifestyle.

It's about equal protecti0on under The Constitution.

If two adults in the United States can walk into a taxpayer funded courthouse, as my ex-wife and I did, and have a public servant such as the county clerk officiate over our entering into a binding legal contract, as my ex-wife and I did when the clerk married us, then walk down the hallway and pay a fee for that contract, as my ex-wife and I did, then under the equal protection clause there is no justification for saying that two adult men or two adult women cannot avail themselves of the same taxpayer funded services to enter into the same taxpayer sanctioned contract that my ex-wife and I did.

Saying it ain't so because of what the Bible states makes about as much legal sense in 2008 as somebody saying we should write legislation outlawing the mentioning of Loki in public else we accidently bring about Ragnarök.

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 08:10 PM on 03/02/2008

Sorry, but you are wrong. Insurance benefits etc were designed for a wife to stay at home and raise children. It has nothing to do with equal protection, but a way to support families.

There is no natural way for two men or two women to raise a family.

Case closed.

Is Huckabee gay? Anytime these religious types start talking about homosexuality being a "choice" or that it's "unnatural" or any other kind of rhetoric about it being "wrong" it's a red flag. No one who is comfortable with their own sexuality goes out of their way to invalidate someone else's sexuality. He may want the conservative base, but he's still a preacher, and closeted gay conservatives are being outed by the minute, especially preachers. Maybe Tyra didn't need to be too hard on him, since most people watching probably realize his remarks were circa 1868, outdated, irrelevant. The question remains, wife or no, is Huckabee himself gay?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 05:14 AM on 03/02/2008

Methinks the woman protestest too much. How many of these homophobes (usually Repub) have to be routed out from public stalls until people realize that anyone who is so vociferous about the "sins" of being homosexual requires closer examination. Ten to one - make that a hundred to one lil mike huckabee would love a good romp with a man. Mark Foley, Ted Haggard, Larry Wide-Stance - the list goes on and on and on Roy Cohn, J. Edgar Hoover, and on and on...

Listen, if "The Bible!" said that sticking your thumb up your butt was the only way to get into Heaven, every christian would be doing it, and screaming at everyone else who wasn't. Plus, the world would be a helluva lot funnier!

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 04:33 PM on 03/02/2008

"Is Huckabee gay? No one who is comfortable with their own sexuality goes out of their way to invalidate someone else's sexuality."

They certainly DO seem to be the usual suspects. Do I detect a hint of jealousy at play here? Perhaps Holy Huck has made the "choice" to be HOMOPHOBIC because "if HE can't have HIM, no one else can"?

And so HE must set the example (to live a LIE and lead a LOVELESS LIFE) for all to faithfully follow?

(The Bible contains 362 admonishments to heterosexuals, and only 6 to homosexuals. It's not that God loves heterosexuals any less. It's just that they need more supervision!)

Let us HOPE to CHANGE our Constitution to be ALL INCLUSIVE of EQUAL RIGHTS! (What would Jesus do?)

Stay safe, healthy and happy,
Love, Loretta

Archaic notions of inequality and hate are Huckabee's trademark. Christians like Huckabee are losing the respect of Americans at an ever quickening pace. Marriage equality is at hand whether Huckabee and his kind like it or not. God knows that gay couples are marrying in record numbers and certainly has the power to object if He did not like it. God loves the gay community and supports them in their fight for equality.

Tyra asks very good questions. Seriously, with a little work, she could host a presidential debate.
It seems to me that the discussion with Gov. Huckabee was moving right along, and perhaps the next question should have been, "Well, Governor, you are opposed to Gay Marriage, but are you at least willing to concede that a gay couple should have all of the rights and obligations of a heterosexual couple?"

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 02:09 AM on 03/02/2008

Great, this is sure to change minds...Tyra Banks defending homosexuality. When, oh Lord when will we stop this ignorant, losing strategy for making the morons and hate-mongers finally get it? What needs defending it heterosexuality, not homosexuality. Heterosexuality is a total disaster. Anyone who's spent more than a minute examining the slightest evidence of the total misery of heterosexuality understands this:

War
Poverty
Spouse abuse
Child abuse
Child neglect
Overpopulation
Environmental degradation
Disease (70% of world HIV transmissions are heterosexual)
Genetic disabilities
Bad government
Bad television
Stupid movies
Hate filled books
Hate filled churches
Hate filled religions
Ugly, terrible food
Plastic flowers
Need I say more?
What a stupid, ignorant, deadly, diseased, dumb, evil lifestyle is heterosexuality.

God thought heterosexuality so problematic he issued 1,038 warnings relating to it in the Bible. Jesus didn't have a word to say about homosexuality. Why would he? Why mess with something that's not a problem?

favoriteFavorite Flag as abusive Posted 01:49 AM on 03/02/2008

"What needs defending is heterosexuality, not homosexuality. Heterosexuality is a total disaster."

We all know that GAY marriages will cause the downfall of STRAIGHT marriages. But cheer up future divorcees. WHEN (not IF) Gay Marriage is legalized, you all can cite "GAY MARRIAGE" as your reasons for divorce, in place of "IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES".

Marriage is MUCH MORE than SEX. In a "till death do us part" monotonous (I mean "monogamous") marriage, SEX wanes. And IF the focus is on SEX (as is the argument against GAY marriage), then "marriage" IS TRULY a HUMAN IMPOSSIBILITY!

If "marriage is between one man and one woman" in the Constitution, why weren't dark-skinned allowed to marry light-skinned individuals of the opposite sex? Did we not "change" the "definition" of marriage when we FINALLY legalized "interracial marriage" in 1967? What say you about THAT, Mr. holy highness Huckabee?

Right on ! The SCOTUS decided Loving v Virginia in September, 1967, when Obama was seven years old.

Huckabee is a "true theocratic believer." If he becomes the GOP veep candidate, he will be a lightning rod for all LGBT Americans, and their supportive families and friends to support the Democratic nominee, Senator Obama - even if they supported Senator Clinton and former President Clinton for president.

In the constitution it says marriage is between a man and a woman. It says NOTHING about the complexion of the marrying couple nor did it EVER mention race when referring to marriage. So legalizing interracial marriage didn't have any affect on the definition of marriage, it just outlawed a racial practice involving marriage.
