Mike Huckabee On Tyra

Mike Huckabee, who has previously equated homosexuality with necrophilia, pedophilia, and bestiality, while also calling it a choice,
went on "Tyra" to discuss his views on homosexuality. Why "Tyra"? Perhaps because, as Tyra put it, "I love the gays and the gays love me."

Tyra asks very good questions. Seriously, with a little work, she could host a presidential debate.
It seems to me that the discussion with Gov. Huckabee was moving right along, and perhaps the next question should have been, "Well, Governor, you are opposed to Gay Marriage, but are you at least willing to concede that a gay couple should have all of the rights and obligations of a heterosexual couple?"

Great, this is sure to change minds...Tyra Banks defending homosexuality. When, oh Lord when will we stop this ignorant, losing strategy for making the morons and hate-mongers finally get it? What needs defending it heterosexuality, not homosexuality. Heterosexuality is a total disaster. Anyone who's spent more than a minute examining the slightest evidence of the total misery of heterosexuality understands this:

War
Poverty
Spouse abuse
Child abuse
Child neglect
Overpopulation
Environmental degradation
Disease (70% of world HIV transmissions are heterosexual)
Genetic disabilities
Bad government
Bad television
Stupid movies
Hate filled books
Hate filled churches
Hate filled religions
Ugly, terrible food
Plastic flowers
Need I say more?
What a stupid, ignorant, deadly, diseased, dumb, evil lifestyle is heterosexuality.

God thought heterosexuality so problematic he issued 1,038 warnings relating to it in the Bible. Jesus didn't have a word to say about homosexuality. Why would he? Why mess with something that's not a problem?

We all know that GAY marriages will cause the downfall of STRAIGHT marriages. But cheer up future divorcees. WHEN (not IF) Gay Marriage is legalized, you all can cite "GAY MARRIAGE" as your reasons for divorce, in place of "IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES".

Marriage is MUCH MORE than SEX. In a "till death do us part" monotonous (I mean "monogamous") marriage, SEX wanes. And IF the focus is on SEX (as is the argument against GAY marriage), then "marriage" IS TRULY a HUMAN IMPOSSIBILITY!

Stay safe, healthy and happy,

Huckaby scares me...not that he is going to win, but there are others like him out there. I bet he was homeschooled and his favoritewvacation is going to visit the " Intelligent " Design Museum in the proud state of Kentucky.

I wish Hackaby would show up on any Air America show.

I wonder what he would do to me, in his fair HackaberryLand...a neo Pagan?

If "marriage is between one man and one woman" in the Constitution, why weren't dark-skinned allowed to marry light-skinned individuals of the opposite sex? Did we not "change" the "definition" of marriage when we FINALLY legalized "interracial marriage" in 1967? What say you about THAT, Mr. holy highness Huckabee?

Stay safe, healthy and happy,
Love, Loretta

Marriage isn't in the Constitution. Like most Republicans, Huckabee has never actually looked at the Constitution.

Or his "wife". Not that all politically connected women named "Janet" are suspect. But take a good look.

In the constitution it says marriage is between a man and a woman. It says NOTHING about the complexion of the marrying couple nor did it EVER mention race when referring to marriage. So legalizing interracial marriage didn't have any affect on the definition of marriage, it just outlawed a racial practice involving marriage.

Right on ! The SCOTUS decided Loving v Virginia in September, 1967, when Obama was seven years old.

Huckabee is a "true theocratic believer." If he becomes the GOP veep candidate, he will be a lightning rod for all LGBT Americans, and their supportive families and friends to support the Democratic nominee, Senator Obama - even if they supported Senator Clinton and former President Clinton for president.

I don't believe homosexuality is a choice...I believe it is a mental and sexual disorder. So did the World Health Organization and the American Psychiatric Association until political correctness pressured them to "reconsider."

But the truth remains, and can be treated.

You must be joking, Johnny! Until we stop putting sex and sexual issues in the closet and calling it all taboo, you and all others who think like you will never ever accept anything that isn't Adam and Eve. And that's a shame, b/c not everyone thinks that even Adam and Eve are all that healthy together either.

Truly believing the earth is flat does make it a truth. Could some self identified gays be suffering from a form of sexual misidentification, yes. But equally true can be the sexual misidentification of some heterosexuals. Then there are the bisexuals, who are obviously beset by a case of double sexual misidentification. So what is actually the truth?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:20 PM on 03/01/2008

truly believing anything doesn't make it a truth. it makes the believing part a truth, the result is inconsequential.

My question to Mike Huckabee - When did you "choose" to be heterosexual?

Were you 16 years old, thinking to yourself "OK, what's it going to be, boys or girls?"

Have you found yourself thinking "Boy! That male intern sure is a hottie. But wait, I've chosen to be heterosexual."?

Reason doesn't work with people like this.
If it did, they wouldn't believe a tiny fraction of what they believe.

oh for the day someone asks Huckabee whether Constitutional guarantees of equal protection of the laws is more important than some people's religious positions on marriage and ... if his religion defines marriage ... whether the right of gay Americans to marry is also a freedom of religion issue

Interesting that your way of expressing your concern for "gay rights" is through hatred of critics. What gives you the right to hate? Lost in the hysteria of this subject is what the debate is really about. Its about belief in God. Its not about the morality of gays or if its a "choice" or not. Its a more radical choice of decision to believe in God as He revealed Himself. An unbiased study of the history of christian beliefs leaves no doubt that homosexuality is prohibited. This is all there is to it. You either submit to this fact or don't. There's been much verbiage and nuancing of this fact to make it seem possible to disagree with the belief and still believe in God. Its not possible to reject the teachings while still believing in the teacher.

Bibbo - your theology is flawed, your understanding of constitutional law is flawed. There are many Christian denominations and individuals who disagree with either your Roman Catholicism or your Protestant Fundamentalism. Constitutional scholars know that the document was used only once to Prohit and it took twenty years and a second amendment to nullify it. Marriage is a civil contract. Sophisticated nations worldwide understand it. Christian theocracy is as dangerous to democracy and freedom as is Islamic fundamentalism.

But how do you reconcile this detail or opinion with all the other things that are prohibited 'by God,' that are commonplace in today's world and yet not demonized, and in many cases even embraced by today's religious establishment?

You're not too well-informed, are you?

Hillary does not talk about homosexuality as being an immoral lifestyle.
Hillary does not compare gay marriage to people marrying animals.
Hillary wants to end Don't Ask, Don't Tell.
Hillary favors civil unions for gay people.
Hillary is comfortable with states allowing gay marriage.

I know Hillary-bashing can often override basic reason, so I kindly ask you to stay away from the keyboard the next time you have an anti-Hillary conniption fit. You don't make sense.

Bravo, JMEB! The difference between Huckabee and Clinton on this issue couldn't be clearer or more defined. Huckabee represents a knuckle-dragging, pitifully archaic system of thought while Clinton represents a relatively modern, progressive system of thought.

And for johnnyjust, who "believes" that homosexuality "is a mental and sexual disorder," I would counter with my belief that johnnyjust is a fool. That's the thing about belief, it's just that, one's personal conviction. It doesn't carry any weight without empirical proof. Thankfully, johnnyjust has provided us here with ample proof of his idiocy!

I grow ever so weary of these people who consider homosexuality a choice, as Huckabeet just did. I always want this follow up question: "So, tell us about the moment YOU CHOSE to be hetero? I'll bet it was a memorable and exciting decision for you."

Dammit.
