Tyra Banks Talks Homosexuality With Mike Huckabee

Mike Huckabee, who has previously equated homosexuality with necrophilia, pedophilia, and bestiality, while also calling it a choice,
went on "Tyra" to discuss his views on homosexuality. Why "Tyra"? Perhaps because, as Tyra put it, "I love the gays and the gays love me."

He works in businesses, Republican politics and Evangelism, that thrive on hatred of gays. What a wonderful way of talking about kids too. "Training replacements" is quite a warm sentiment. The man doesn't believe in Darwin. He really can't be reasoned with.

Did anyone actually buy Huckabee's shit? Who was he trying to kid? He is the worst kind of politician., the kind who completely changes his message depending on his audience. If you have read or heard his past comments, you would know he has little or no tolerance for homosexuals. And if Tyra had done her homework, she should have called him on what were completely bullshit comments. If you are going to participate in the political process, Tyra, then you better damn well do it responsibly.

i love how mike huckabee says he wants to be the president of everybody, and make a fair country for everybody... cuz what he's really saying is that it would be a fair country for everyone but the LGBT community. by "changing the definition of marriage" we could establish true equality in this country, but huckabee doesn't want everyone to be equal. he wants gay people to be unable to make a life with the person they love because he doesn't approve. that isn't his call to make. whether he approves or not, if someone is an american citizen who pays taxes they should have the EXACT SAME LEGAL RIGHTS AS EVERYONE ELSE!

I agree that Ty-Ty was way too softball on Governor Huckabee. She could've for instance gently challenge him on the discussion of the pathway to procreation. There are so many children out there who need good homes regardless of the lifestyle "choice" of the parents. There was a chance when she could've veered away from the Tyra moment "the gays love me and I love the gays", but she of course did what she usually does by steering the spotlight back onto herself. I agree that if Tyra has such high profile guests that she prepare to lovingly, as she does too, challenge them on the current issues.

we may love you Tyra - but that was as softball as it gets - not one basic follow up to his completely pathetic and deeply flawed logic..... completely unenlightening, and really just letting him get away with being a biggot and letting him sound reasonable about it.

Of course I wouldn't watch Tyra for real information anyway, but if she's going to go this route, she needs to do it well. That was just fluff.

For instance, Tyra could have asked Mike what he thought of civil unions that would afford gay partners the same legal and tax benefits of marriage without all the religious sanctioning. When my sister married her husband, they both chose to forgo a religious ceremony, as neither of them believes in such fairy tales. Nevertheless, they were given all the rights and responsibilities of marriage by the state. There were no religious protesters outside the establishment where they were united. No one cared that the ceremony was stripped of any reference to god, jesus, or buddha. Why can't such a civil ceremony extend to the LGBT community?

Because, gay brother Mike, the fact is that the United States is not sophisticated and pluralistic enough to emulate Canada, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Scandanavia and the Union of South Africa....or even partially homophobic to provide lesser rights such as found in the EU.
