The Palestinians don't use "civilians as shields" they simply aren't able to have a fully fledged military arm to their society. For the Palestinians to have clearly demarcated military installations would be pure suicide, so instead they fight from where they can - there homes and the homes of their neighbors.

Are they right to occupy the houses of civilians? Maybe not, but they are not far from being civilians themselves.

Only the Israelis never stop land-grabbing. I remember the cease-fires of the 90's, when the Israelis kept bulldozing "illegal" Palestinian constructions to make room for Jewish homes, and took every isolated incident of Palestinian terrorism as an excuse to punish the entire society - as they do today.

The Israelis have never negotiated in the good faith that they expect from the Palestinians. From the very foundation of Israel the "right" of the Jewish people to have a homeland trumped the sovereignty of the people who were already there. Why should you expect anything different today?

According to you, the Israelis kill 100 (I say 20-40) Palestinians for every 1 Israeli killed, steal the Palestinians land and have built a wall on Palestinian land that isn't "fair," yet your sympathy lies primarily with the Israelis? Are we living in the Twilight Zone?

Perhaps because the Israelis have a policy of killing 10 Palestinians for every 1 Israeli that is killed.

Israel is bieng bombed daily from Gaza what do you propose they do sit back and die. Giving up Gaza was suppose to stop the violence, we see how that is working.

Exactly how can you have a "cease-fire" if only one side is expected to actually "cease-fire." Israel at least has a centralized beauracracy from which they can enforce a cease-fire. Every time the Palestinians attempt to form a government the Israelis veto it.

What do you YOU expect the world to think of Israel:

--when the answer to YOUR bountiful meal being disturbed is to shut off their incomes, their jobs, their food sources, their electric and power, bomb their homes, kill their children and make them come crawling to you begging for your forgiveness??

Only The US can force the Israelis to finally do the right thing, and stop all settler expansion, pull out all settlers, raze all settlements and stop the blockade on Gaza. This will put an end to the VAST majority of the violence.

The Israeli Palestinian has been the ENGINE of terror in the Middle east for the last 40 years, and the responsibility for it rests squarely on the shoulders of the settlers and their ultra right wing backers here and in Israel, who DO NOT even have the support of the majority of Jewish Americans or Israelis. They do, however, have the support of the US congress as the result of the activities of VERY questionable PACs such as AIPAC, 2 of whose top official stand accused of espionage against the US after a sting in which they illegally received classifies intel on Iran that they intended to use to foment war between the US and Iran.

The Greatest gift the US could give Israel would be making EVERY PENNY of support we give them conditional on quitting the settler movement and the occupation. That would also go a long way towards preventing future 9/11s.

not to mention the militants who fired mortars and rockets at the Israelis.... so basically a soman or child with a bomb strapped to them by the Islamos should be addresssed by direct negotiation? That is the Hope and Change .

So the Israelis should send in their own suicide bombers to make it fair?

How about the Palestinians demand that Hamas stop launching attacks, and let a deal be reached? If Israel continues bombing, then they be condemned.
