Each role was Jack portraying a criminal.

Or an aimless loner.

The Jake Gittes character in Chinatown is one of my personal heroes.

Wow, how did they get the rights to these clips? Does Nicholson own them, did the campaign pay for them, or were they donated? The Batman clip alone would have cost a fortune for this cash-strapped campaign.

Well Jack is a Hillary supporter, and he was the STAR of all those films, maybe he owns a piece of these films and got a good deal.

How smart is it to accept campaign propaganda from another well-known amoral philanderer?

talk about two scumbags, that killer Teddy Kennedy thought he could be President after killing that woman? he must have been on drugs to think that could happen. Just because the people of the Northeast States will keep electing scum bags like Teddy, his son Patrick and Dodd doesn't mean the rest of America would. It does remind me of the voters of Detroit that still have Kwame Kilpatrick as Mayor, who is a liar and a thief.

I have all the respect in the world for Jack Nicholson, but this still seems like the Clinton campaign is scraping the bottom of the barrel. They criticize Obama for empty rhetoric, and for not discussing "real" issues, or being realistic in general, and they've now resorted to movie clips? And, to be frank, I've seen all those movies, and Nicholson is playing a nutcase in almost all of them (and doing so exquisitely, as only he can). -- is that really who you want an endorsement from? Col. Jessup from A Few Good Men? Jack Torrance from The Shining? THE JOKER?!

Yes indeed, all of the MOVIE VILLAINS support Hillary, so I guess I ought to as well.

Well, I guess this is the kind of commercial that a 60 year old would think would influence young people.

What's that line Hillary likes so much: all hat, no cattle?

Speaking of cattle....

"NAIROBI — Kenyan elders may impose a fine on U.S. presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, payable in livestock, after a photo of her rival Barack Obama in robes dragged their people into the race for the White House...."

Some people need to get a sense of humor--the clips are attention getting moments that play off the isues. I think it's great. Anyway--do keep in mind that even though I am not "60" , I get it . Also, not all voters are 18--not every ad is aimed at the youth vote. Anyway, where was Obama girl on election day--she couldn't bother to get to the polls to actually vote....

Barack Obama can inspire this country like no leader has in 40 years. "You want the truth? You can't handle the truth."

Inspire us to do what? I'm for Obama and everything, but these vague, platitudinous statements that form the foundation of his support really disturb me.

To the best of my knowledge, the difference between Obama and most other candidates in my memory (I am 51 years old) is his style of inviting participation by the general population.

Mr. Obama's speeches express "yes we can", while others say "I will fight for you". Much of the excitement, as far as I can tell, is that Barack invites us (all) to the party, which is a significant shift in perspective. There are other differences, but the idea of working together with a president who still remembers normal life is very attractive.

Michelle Obama has commented that they would not be able to do this campaign in as few as 4 years, because they would no longer be the same people, in the same place as they are now.

I believe that Barack and Hillary are similarly inexperienced in the executive role of such a huge entity, so I don't grant either of them an advantage either way.

For me, it comes down to Barack's wisdom and education, and the fact that he has not yet been removed from the general population into the beltway culture. FYI, I was only recently persuaded to the Obaman way, I favored other candidates until they dropped out of the race.

If anyone knows women, it's smooth Jack!

I don't know about the saluting part, but if he says so, I'd buy it. LOL

Boy, I was already to vote for Obama but the part about "having trained professionals in charge of the military" and the subtext that I should be relying on the advice of a crazy old man makes me think I oughta go for McCain.

This is the seconc ad coming from the Clinton camp that makes the case for McCain. You Go Girl !!!!

She's making a GREAT case for McCain. That's why I don't understand her theme of "Choose the one with most Experience". Because between Hillary and McCain, he CLEARLY has more experience in actually passing legislation, being involved in policy-making, military experience (including POW leadership examples)....

....WHY does she think "experience" is such a strong point for her? Is Laura Bush "experienced"? Is Barbara Bush "ready on Day 1"?

She's got 7 years in the Senate. vs. McCain's "forever". National security is going to be a BIG issue--and there's no way that Hillary wins it. Why doesn't she see that?
