I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Hillary

Saturday Night Live opened tonight with a fake presidential debate hosted by mock Brian Williams and Tim Russert. Williams and Russert were bored by healthcare and were overly nice to Obama, while Amy Poehler, as Hillary Clinton, played mildly indignant. After the debate, instead of the opening credits, there was an "Editorial Response." The real Senator Clinton, seated at a desk and wearing the same brown tweed as Poehler's Clinton, said how she loved the skit and was happy to be back in New York, if only for a few hours. Then Amy Poehler, still in character as the senator, joined Clinton at the desk. They chatted, during which time Clinton asked Poehler if she really laughed like Poehler's Clinton and asked for her earrings back. The New York Senator then said, "Live from New York it's Saturday night!"

Watch the editorial response:

More on the rest of the show from the Chicago Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet:

Political satire contains an element of truth and in a cartoon, Obama was shown to be going to great lengths to prevent Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson from being seen campaigning for him. He is shown--remember this is a cartoon--meeting with Jackson in a broom closet before sending him off on a phoney diplomatic mission and putting a dog collar on Sharpton that zaps him if he gets to close to an Obama rally.

Giuliani dropped his presidential bid in January and has endorsed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) who has not been on SNL for years. Giulianiappeared on SNL's "Weekend Update" segment.

"I would have done things differently," Giuliani said.

Specifically, what asked Seth Meyers.

"I've given it a lot of thought and realize that my one key mistake was years ago when I hosted this show and wore a dress. I really wish I could have taken it back."

So his mistake was not bypassing the early primaries?

"The Florida plan was solid. But the dress killed me."

The Florida plan was solid. But the dress killed me.

Very amusing. The lady can take it and give it out.

Conservatism is dead. Sen. Craig sounded taps, with his flag at half-mast.

Did HRC watch SNL when they made fun of WJC and Ms. Lewinsky?

When you Republicans have nothing constructive to say you always revert to WJC's sex life. Give it a rest.

NOHAT SEES THE LIGHT
I get it now. All this stuff about trolls and plants and spies and multiple aliases. I just saw on another post how being on the site 12+ hours and going to other blogs for 12+ hours is what makes you a suspect. I'd been posting for about 48 hours (I am pretty new to this site) when someone wrote 'plant' in a reply to my entry and then soon after that charged me with having been banned and then coming back under new names. I thought this person was nuts or on drugs or both. Paranoid. Had I known about the 12+ hours thing and how that makes you suspect, I'd have informed this person that I have severe asthma, that about every 8 weeks I get treated for it, and that the treatment makes getting to sleep just about impossible (catnaps are about all I can manage).
I still think there is some paranoia afoot on this site. Maybe some people you guys suspect are real plants, but you were mistaken about me and there could be others you are mistaken about. You caused me some grief, let me tell you, for I was enjoying the site and was brand new to this kind of
thing. A babe in arms to the world of blog.
I forgive you.

Bill Richardson to endorse Obama?! Seems likely!

From his interview on "Face the Nation" today:

"I think after Tuesday, we as a party nationally -- voters, leaders -- have got to see whether it makes sense to continue a very divisive primary between now and Pennsylvania, and then the convention.. .
I just think the D-Day is Tuesday. We have to have a positive campaign after Tuesday. Whoever has the most delegates after Tuesday, a clear lead, should be in my judgment the nominee."

... and according to the polling data in Ohio and Texas, that will be Barack Obama, by over 100 delegates!

Well, be careful what you wish for. Obama may be in the lead now, but what happens when Florida and Michigan weigh in - where Hillary won big time? The party can't in good conscience disenfranchise these two big Blue states where 100s of thousands actually voted and seat delegations from the tiny Red caucus states where few participated. Not if you REALLY care about the will of the people.

Was that a repeat, it was hard to tell. I guess Jim Downey, snl's political writer, who is a conservative, wants the democratic race to go on.

Live from New York!! A closet lesbian

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:55 PM on 03/02/2008

What exactly is your "closet lesbian" remark supposed to mean?
Amy Poehler, Hillary Clinton - or you. Do you wish you were?

So what isfsomeone is? What if someone was a closet "heteorsexual"
or a closet abstinate, or a closet sex fiend? What does what one does
in the bedroom at night have to do with running for political office?

What about one eats behind closed doors? Obama was a chain smoker
till he started running and dropped it cause it would not be appealing
if he was blabbing about healthcare from one side of his mouth with a
cig hanging out of the other.

What does John McCain eat at home that gothim cancer?
Who ever you are why don't you check some books out at your
local library on some of the history about Presidential campaigns, our constitution and other
enriching subjects.... so you can in the future offer comments of substance and meaning on

Well, at least Wilco was on last night. 7 minutes of good music almost makes up for lame recycled sketches and a strange, strange attempt at comedy.

personally, I thought the only interesting thing on SNL last night was that Ellen Page basically OUTTED herself. It was a very cute skit with Andy.

Congrats, Ellen. You are a lovely girl and great actress with a bright future.

Jeezus, TWO ugly broads.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:13 PM on 03/02/2008

Ugly broads? ya know who is really ugly is John McCain and who is even uglier, bless his soul, is Mr. Obama himself. He could benefit from an ear tie down and some pink-lip ink tatoo on his mouth, and maybe he should grow his hair out a bit. Oh, let's see, Tim Russert... talk about an inflatable blubbery face - he does not exercise. Ya know the networks screens are filled with ugly dick men that we women are forced to look at cause there are so few good looking dudes reading the news. I'd love to see your photo big boy - and see all of you - your probably not as big as you dream you are.

SNL is not funny! Maybe the first week back with the first debate on the show, but this past show wasn't funny nor original. You would think that with all the time the writer's had off they would have an endless amount of material. Just watch as the ratings slowly fall........

Petty, jealous, easily threatened Obamaphiles. Give us a break. Your candidate is still coasting on his free ride from the press; with his thin resume, he could never make it on his own. Obama never changes the tone of his voice, the cadence of his speech, or his facial expressions. He's a complete robot, and this is what the media labels authentic and cool.

Hillary Clinton is warm, spontaneous, and natural. When she's under pressure, she's focused and poised, and she gets the job done.

And by the way, her record of working across the aise in the United States Senate far surpasses the record of Mr. Uniter who has been running for president ever since he took office.

Why are Hillary campaigners so gushy and paranoid? Is your mass email hate mail not working?

Your mass hate-filled emails are not working. Princeton historian Sean Wilentz details how the Obama campaign has used the race card in below-the-radar sleaze attacks on the Clintons. Check out Wilentz's excellent in-depth article in the New Republic last week. All of the Obama campaign's chickens are coming home to roost lately - the race card, the Canadian memo on NAFTA, and the Rezko trial, and I'm sure there's more; it's just hard to keep up with their quick footwork.

If a woman entered the race with a resume as thin as Obama's she'd been laughed off the stage. Don't tell me there isn't a triple standard. One standard for women, one standard for men and one standard for black men. The bar is always higher for women, lower for men and very low for black men. Isn't that what affirmative action was all about?

You Obama supporters are all so snarky. I thought she was great and showed a wonderful sense of humor. It's funny, us Hillary supporters don't make fun of Obama when he appears on Ellen or Entertainment Tonight. And we're supposedly the uneducated, poor, illiterate sheep who only vote for Hillary because she's a name we recognize on the ballot.? Whatever. At least we take the higher road and don't act like petulant 5 year olds...wait, I apologize, supposedly that's what YOU are.
