Marion Cotillard's 9/11 And Moon Landing Conspiracy Theories

Oscar-winning Marion Cotillard was facing embarrasment with her new American public last night after it emerged that she doubted the official account of the September 11 attacks. The 32-year-old French star has swept this year's best actress awards, also receiving a Bafta, Golden Globe and a César for her performance as singer Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose...

But the actress faces a potential backlash in the US over comments she made in an interview in France. Footage which surfaced on the internet showed her questioning the New York terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and the 1969 moon landing.

"I think we're lied to about a number of things," she said, singling out September 11.

Referring to the two passenger jets flown into the World Trade Centre, Miss Cotillard said: "We see other towers of the same kind being hit by planes, are they burned? There was a tower, I believe it was in Spain, which burned for 24 hours.

It never collapsed. None of these towers collapsed. And there [New York], in a few minutes, the whole thing collapsed."

Miss Cotillard suggested that the towers, planned in the early 1960s, were an outdated "money sucker" which would have cost so much to modernise that it was easier to destroy them.

Turning to America's space programme, she said: "Did a man really walk on the moon? I saw plenty of documentaries on it, and I really wondered. And in any case I don't believe all they tell me, that's for sure."

Miss Cotillard, who was born and brought up in Paris, made the comments on Paris Première - Paris Dernière (Paris First - Paris Last), a programme first broadcast a year ago.

In our system of government (as if that means anything anymore), it is a jury that is the finder of fact. In this mass murder case, there has been no discovery, no presentation of evidence, no direct testimony and no cross-examination. We have had to settle for a flawed, incomplete and self-contradictory 911 Commission public report that made damn sure that no one would be held accountable.

Planned trials of accused terrorists allegedly responsible for the 911 attacks will be in secret. Published testimony will be censored due to “national security” concerns. Confessions obtained under torture will likely be introduced into evidence. The death penalty will follow and, like Saddam, dead men tell no tales. There will be no further public disclosure of the money trail, or of the unusual insider trading (short selling UA, AA, etc.) hours before the attack that made several “unknown” entities tens of millions.

With all the lies this administration has spewed over the past seven years, why anyone would give them the benefit of the doubt on anything is beyond me. And in the case of the 911 atrocity, there is ample room for doubt.

So Cotillard is a pessimist. She's still a brilliant actress. If you haven't seen "La Vie En Rose" do so and fast. It's an incredible portrait of Edith Piaf with Cotillard's portrayal terrific from Piaf groing up as an almost street kid to drug addicted hag but still with a luminous voice.

Cotilliard isn't the only person doubting the 911 attack. Many underground web sites have drawn the same conclusions, based on info they uncovered. The facts the media gave, just don't add up with what really was going down in the days prior to 911. The gag order on the media prior should send red flags to any and all who think they were getting the whole story. Yes, it can be told, the public was kept in the dark days before the attacks. The airlines were kept out of the loop as well. This explained the high numbers killed in the buildings the day of the attacks. It explains why those people flew those airlines at those times, as they didn't know of the terror threats ahead of time. Nobody was given a chance to decide for themselves whether or not to take that risk that killed so many. But you ask, how could the media be allowed to so? The FAA and FCC are controlled by the Bush administration. They gave the gag order. Any mroe quesitons?

Madamoiselle Coitillard fully deserved her Oscar, and is to be commended for having the temerity to exercise her God-given right to free speech, freedom of thought, and freedom to question the official line.

From SOME of these comments, I take it that if any non-American person (say a French actress) publicly raised doubts for example about the odd American Appalachian practice of handling live rattlesnakes as a way to get close to God (and live to tell about it),...
SOME contributors would denounce said person as uninformed, and said contributors would do some kind of pretzel-logic dance to explain just why the opinion of said non-American doesn't count for much, and rattlesnake handling is valid because Americans do it.

Or: "If you don't handle rattlesnakes for a living, you're not qualified to comment, either- American or not."

Dear ATLien, Try remembering that both buildings fell straight down, at virtual freefall speed, as did WTC 7, which hadn't been hit by any plane at all. 3 buildings, ostensibly 3 different causes of collapse, and yet 3 identical collapses. Marion Cotillard is voicing the thoughts of many people outside the U.S..........and not just in France! The U.S. is so insular that they feel that everything 'important' in the world takes place in the U.S. only. There is a 'the world revolves around the U.S.' mentality. People in other countries see this quite clearly. It is very sad to see in comments and blogs all over the internet, just how uninformed the people in the U.S. are.
