While Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama have spent most of the past two weeks focused on delegate-rich Texas and Ohio, tiny Rhode Island -- with 21 pledged delegates at stake Tuesday -- is reveling in its unaccustomed position of relevance in a Democratic presidential nominating contest.

This state has long been seen as strongly favorable to Clinton. She and her husband, Bill Clinton, visited so often during their White House days that the former president once joked that he ought to pay state taxes. The senator from New York has also lined up the support of most of the state's Democratic establishment, including Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, who hosted a fundraiser for her last Sunday, and Claiborne Pell, the respected 89-year-old former senator.

As a Massachusetts single parent, 2 job holding resident, I wish reporters and interested parties would ask Mitt Romney, our former Governor, about his mandated health insurance plan for all Massachusetts residents he left us with. Ask democrats, republicans and independent voters what we think about this plan. This is the same plan that Hillary wants to adopt. Please do yourself a favor and ask the Massachusetts residents how it feels to no longer have a choice about putting food on the table, because YOU MUST, pay for a premium you can't afford. Ask MA residents how LONG it takes them to get a visit with their PCP (Primary Care Physicians). Ask the MA seniors about their medicine vs health care premium. I can go on, but please ask the questions. Also note that Mitt Romney never gives credit or much talk to his governorship here in Massachusetts, because he KNOWS that Massachusetts RESIDENTS think he is a scam. Mandated health care IS NOT a good plan...TRUST ME, and the rest of the MA residents who can vouch this.

Bill Richardson made a HUGE staqtement on Face the Nation just now: after tuesday, whoever has a substantial lead in the delegates should be the nominee.

"a clear indication of a solid lead in delegate count - by voters not super delegates...- we as a party nationally voters, leaders... have got to see whether it makes sense to continue a very divisive primary."

But he has stopped short of endorsing. He is at this point just decrying the negativity.

What do you mean that Obama's surge in Texas is "falling apart." Obama's surge was to close the gap between he and Hillary, which he has done, and he is now expected to win Texas. Remember, Texas was part of Hillary's "Mission Accomplished" moment, after February 5th didn't work out too well for her. She was way up in Texas until Obama began actively campaigning there and her numbers began to drop dramatically. Now, he has not only caught up, but he's surpassing her numbers.
