Washington Post:

While Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama have spent most of the past two weeks focused on delegate-rich Texas and Ohio, tiny Rhode Island -- with 21 pledged delegates at stake Tuesday -- is reveling in its unaccustomed position of relevance in a Democratic presidential nominating contest.

This state has long been seen as strongly favorable to Clinton. She and her husband, Bill Clinton, visited so often during their White House days that the former president once joked that he ought to pay state taxes. The senator from New York has also lined up the support of most of the state's Democratic establishment, including Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, who hosted a fundraiser for her last Sunday, and Claiborne Pell, the respected 89-year-old former senator.

Is there something missing from this article? According to the Title, which says inroads have been made, I would like to know: What inroads has Obama made? If she wins Rhode Island, wow, she will win the nomination!!!!

And no, RI is not going to cinch the nomination for Clinton.

None. It's just those fun-loving headline writers again.

She'll take RI.

Course, I say.......Obama has made much ado over nothing with his 11 straight wins! Good grief, when did the Virgin Islands become relevant?

Ditto for RI.

4 delegates, right?

I think the Obama camp can breathe easily and still lose this one. LOL*

Sen. Obama will say:

Real change isn’t saying that you’ll stand up to lobbyists and special interests when you’ve taken more money from Washington lobbyists than any Democrat or Republican running for President, like my opponent has.

Hillary has been standing up to the drug industry, the insurance industry, the oil industry and other interests represented by lobbyists her whole life. That's why she voted against the Bush/Cheney energy bill, which was written by oil industry lobbyist, while Sen. Obama voted for it.

Sen. Obama has been dishonestly suggesting he is free from the influence of lobbyists. The Wall Street Journal debunks this today in an article entitled: Obama Campaign Enlists Lobbyists.

You certainly have the goods on Obama there. You should get the word out, tell the Clinton campaign. You could save the day.

(Snerck!)

I would take a bet on you never having read the "1,000 page" energy bill? Well neither have I but I did ready a short summary of it and frankly there are more good things about it than bad. What many people don't realize is most times these bills have to be a balance of compromise in order to get anything done. And when that doesn't happen they fail out right. I encourage people to do is, if you are interested in a particular bill do your research because most times what you hear in the media is a slanted view of the person either supporting or rejecting it -- those people are lobbyists.

Hillary was up 75-25 2 weeks ago

Now it's 53-38 with 9% undecided

53-38-9 is still daunting, especially as how among the blue collar electorate, there has been a tendency for the last minute undecided to break for HRC. That pattern may have eased of late.

What is important here is perceptions, then total delegate numbers. Clinton will get more delegates in RI than will Obama.

But who cares? What matters is who gets the most for the day? Clinton could actually do pretty well, but I'd not bet the farm on it.

Is Obama going to drive Clinton out of the race Tuesday? He must meet and beat expectations. At this point, would beating Clinton by a 10% margin (37 delegates) do the trick? I doubt it.

What if he beat her by 70 delegates? That would be about 59% to 41%. That should do it, but he is not going to achieve numbers like that.

Is there something in between that is achievable and convincing?

Be looking for the margin of delegate victory.

An Obama 'RHETORIC" example:

In 2004, Sen. Obama said he didn’t know how he would have voted on the Iraq War resolution.

‘When asked about Senators Kerry and Edwards' votes on the Iraq war, Obama said, "I'm not privy to Senate intelligence reports,’ Mr. Obama said. ‘What would I have done? I don't know. What I know is that from my vantage point the case was not made.’

In 2004, Sen. Obama also said there was little difference between his position and George Bush’s position on Iraq:

In a meeting with Chicago Tribune reporters at the Democratic National Convention, Obama said, “On Iraq, on paper, there's not as much difference, I think, between the Bush administration and a Kerry administration as there would have been a year ago. […] There's not much of a difference between my position and George Bush's position at this stage.” [Chicago Tribune, 07/27/04]

Everything that Obama said about the war during the Kerry campaign was coordinated to not embarrass Kerry and damage his campaign.

See, Obama takes into consideration the good of the Party.

So he carefully crafted all his comments during that time such that they could not be used to hurt Kerry's candidacy. So drop it.

prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald begins the timely story of the corruption and bribery trial of Antoin 'Tony' Rezko. Rezko, a Syrian Arab and contributor to Obama will be the news of the day and for the next few weeks. Already, Obama has lied about his connections and had to give back some money. Obama admits to making a ' bone headed" decision in taking money and getting involved in a land deal with him. Yes, I'd say bone headed is mild. We will learn just how connected they are.
Go to ABC.com and read several articles on the Obama/Rezko connection. It is just getting started.
Also, a really good piece called "the Making of Obama" in the Politics section. 8 minutes all Americans should see.

naturesway,

i have been censored as well. Everyone knows about the Rezko thing. Rezko made a profit on the sale to Obama of the strip of land next to his property. Obama admitted he shouldn't have dealt with Rezko on this.

I have been an Obama supporter for years and it started with my reading of his books. And the more I see the more my support is confirmed. His love of the constitution and our nation of laws is paramount.

You don't seem to bother one second to examine Hillary's ties to lobbyists and their campaign dollars. If you look closely, the political calculation and opportunism carry her day. Why haven't you asked what she has done for kids and the middle class while on the board of Walmart all of those years. And how she has furthered the cause of women while being a lawyer for the corporations at the Rose Law firm.

It appears Obama couldn't afford this piece of land and Rezko, accommodated Obama and helped him get the mansion. And, no I don't believe everything is out in the open yet.

Secondly, I have followed politics for 3 decades, closely and Hillary's history is well known. 35 million dollars was spent examining ever last paper and bed sheet and there was nothing to any of it. It's been proven. The Clinton White House was the cleanest in history. Ken Starr, 35 million $$ of investigations and they found NO WRONG DOING.
Finally, if you actually read all the reports about WallMart, you would see that Hillary actually did good work for labor and minorities. You're just spreading falsehoods with nothing to back any of it up.

Obama is as dirty a politician as any of them.

Also, Obama takes money from lobbyist wives, employees, and from some of the biggest banking corporations. So for anyone to pretend he doesn't is just lying to themselves.
Dig deeper and then tell me Obama is different.

But Obama lied about how long he had a relationship with Rezko and that smells. The GOP is goijng to rake him over the coals about that if he gets the nomination.

Actually, he's winning at this stage, but that won't last much longer. The truth is beginning to be revealed and his vote counts on Tuesday won't keep him in front.
Rezko trial starts Monday.
