Obama Mocks Clinton Mocking Him
Last Sunday, Hillary Clinton "stood in the rec center at Rhode Island College and mocked fellow presidential candidate Barack Obama for his campaign's theme of hope, saying Obama can't just 'wave a magic wand and have the special interests disappear.'" [Watch video of Clinton here.] On Saturday, Obama took the same stage and couldn't resist bringing up her comments. CNN describes the scene:

"I think she was here, right?" Obama said toward the end of his stump speech. "She was saying 'Oh, you know, he thinks that the clouds will part and... [that] he's so naïve.'"

The room quickly erupted in "boos."

"Wait, wait, wait," he said.

"He thinks he can wave a magic wand," he continued, mocking Clinton's impression, "and suddenly everything will be great."

Obama then went in to his standard stump lines, saying it's true he "talks about hope a lot." He then defended his rationale in doing so.

Watch it:

OK, so when she does it, it's negative, when he does it, it's OK, it's Obama!
2 examples of double standards in just a couple of days. The 3am ad was blasted by Obama's campaign and the media as negative, then Obama's campaign immediately respond with an identical negative ad. But again, it's Obama, so that's OK!
When she calls him on some of his Policies(?) he cries about it being negative, when he does it,
again, it's OK, it's Obama!
The worst of the bunch...MSNBC lackies showing their lack of journalistic integrity. They are unable to show a balanced view. All they can do (Matthews, Olberman, O'Donnell, Mika Brzezinski, Tucker, Todd, Russert to mention a few) is to find reasons why Hillary cannot win. That's all they can do. That is not journalism. Matthews judgement can't be that good because he voted for Bush, then admits he gets tingles in his legs when Obama speaks and says people who don't cry when Obama speaks aren't American! I'm waiting for Obama to go on his show in person to get a big wet one!
The polls are close and even if Obama wins, he doesn't appear to have overwhelming support from his own party, and chances are, something will happen over the sumemr that will force people to question just who this guy really is, but by then...oooops...too late!

Oy vey...

Leaving this story up all day as the Huffington Post lead? Seriously?

Boy, Arianna, you couldn't get that "Hillary on SNL" article to the bottom of your page fast enough, could you?

We get it. Barack Obama is great. Hillary is the witch, with the audacity to run for office against him. I hope he lives up to your expectations.

Yet another unflattering photo of Hillary next to a flattering photo of Barack.
Shame on you.

KKKarl Rove desperate to keep Hillary in the race.

"But Karl Rove, the former senior political adviser to President Bush and architect of his presidential election victories, said such calls from Democrats for Mrs. Clinton’s withdrawal were unwise and unbecoming.

“I think it’s a mistake for his campaign to be calling for her to drop out,” Mr. Rove said on Fox. That would be seen as “rubbing her nose” in the fact that she is trailing, he said. “It’s up to the delegates at the convention to decide who wins and loses,” he added."

If KKKarl Rove says that Hillary should stay in to make it a protracted race you know it will help the Republicans win in his estimation.

I was under the impression that he was all rhetoric and no message.
I was wrong... about the rhetoric part. I mean, just listen to the bit on this page! Listen to the repretitions, the äähhhs and ... pauses and have I mentioned repetitions?

This guy is awful! He is now campaigning for months and he is still unable to deliver a speech without these shortcomings.

I find it interesting how he describes his upbringing:
He claims that he "was born to a single mom, a teenage mom" and that he was raised by that single mom and her parents who had no fame and fortune, but gave him love and an education.
Well, his mother married in 1960, he was born in 1961. His father left when he was 2 years old and his mother was nearly 19 when he was born.
True, she was young, but would you consider a 19 year old student, who is already married as a "teenage"?
True, his father left his mother, but "single" does imply that he was never there from the beginning and that is not true.
He stayed with his mom on Hawaii after his father left, but then went to Indonesia with his mom and his new stepfather and there he received his first education. He came back to Hawaii when he was 10 years old and enrolled in a prestigeous Punahou School (on a scholarship, as far as I know), living with his grandparents. No word about his step-father. Strange.

What type of personal fiction is he trying to sell to the American public?

That's it? I guess he needs to learn how to mock.

wonder if bush jr's wife tells him he is not perfect? actually bush jr has done a genius job for the repubs and what they stand for.

George Bush jr is a genius
Here is a list of his successes.

Was able to turn Blair and mc Cain into lap dogs.

Was able to have and continue his war for profits and was able to increase troop levels even after the demos won the house and senate.

Was able to invade a country on lies and deception and create shock and awe and set up a Iraqi puppet gov that only signs oil contracts with American oil corps and create mega profits for oil companies.

Was able to prove once and for all what many thought the demos are hapless and spineless.

Was able to take away the right of a trial for American citizens and spy on them without any recourse and create a gov and corp fascism in America while the demos sat by and watched and even helped him perform this feat.

Was able to create a mercenary army within and outside the United States.

Was able to stack the supreme court with self righteous religious and war mongers.

Was able to get elected twice by taking advantage of the self-righteous evangels and greedy capitalists.

Was able to prove the folks in Ohio are dumber than dumb as most of them have a secret desire to be wall mart greeters and sell Chinese products. Twice he won that state and mc war will win in nov.

Was able to continue to diminish the middle class while they continued to vote for him proving Americans are not the brightest bulbs on the planet.

The list goes and on. George bush jr the genius. God bless America where the middle class just keeps on giving and giving and giving and:

Wait to Americans see how he will be able to fill his coffers after he leaves office.$$$$$$$$$

See, here's the thing--the man has humility. In my 25 years in Washington, DC, and 10-plus years as a legislative aide, not once did hear any major candidate admit that they would not be perfect. Because in DC, to show humility--to show anything other than steadfast arrogance--is perceived as impolitic and weak. But that's not true. It is, in fact, empowering. It undermines your enemies (What happens when you apologize or admit that you don't have all the answers? What happens to your detractors--aside from Hillary's supporters?) and gives you the ability to rally people to your side.

Folks think humility and honesty isn't something that's needed--after 7 yeas of the opposite? Um, it's needed. And Hillary would have done well to emulate that, instead of sticking to tired politics of ad hominem attacks and innuendo as usual.

I haven't heard the word humility used in this debate by anyone other than me--not by a single person. Ironically, it's the one thing that over 1,000,000 donors are attracted to, but aren't quite sure what it is. Most people aren't--it's in such rare supply in our country's leadership (on both sides of the aisle).

It seems that ripping-off other people's works is about the only accomplish Barack the Xerox can claim. For example, he copies Hillary's mocking of himself; he "lifted" the beginning portion of his ad response to Hillary's "telephone" ad; he parroted Duvall Patrick's speech and parts of Malcom X's speech (... they hoodwink you..," "... they bamboozle you..."), among others. Obama's is a serial copier who belongs in the Funhouse, not the White House.

Bill Richardson to endorse Obama?! Seems likely!

"I think after Tuesday, we as a party nationally -- voters, leaders -- have got to see whether it makes sense to continue a very divisive primary between now and Pennsylvania, and then the convention.. .

I just think the D-Day is Tuesday. We have to have a positive campaign after Tuesday. Whoever has the most delegates after Tuesday, a clear lead, should be in my judgment the nominee," Richardson said on "Face the Nation" on CBS

... and according to the polling data in Ohio and Texas, that will be Barack Obama, by over 100 delegates!

This was on CNN as "Obama mocks Clinton."

Give me a break -- he's directly referencing what she said at that very spot!

Media desperate for a story.

It's time to seal this deal. The campaigning is degenerating and Obama can't be forced to waste his time responding to Clinton's churlish attacks. There are issues to slam the Rethugliacns with, and Clinton isn't the right person to do so, because of all her neo-con votes. 'Nuff said.
