Obama Mocks Clinton Mocking Him
Last Sunday, Hillary Clinton "stood in the rec center at Rhode Island College and mocked fellow presidential candidate Barack Obama for his campaign's theme of hope, saying Obama can't just 'wave a magic wand and have the special interests disappear.'" [Watch video of Clinton here.] On Saturday, Obama took the same stage and couldn't resist bringing up her comments. CNN describes the scene:

"I think she was here, right?" Obama said toward the end of his stump speech. "She was saying 'Oh, you know, he thinks that the clouds will part and... [that] he's so naïve.'"

The room quickly erupted in "boos."

"Wait, wait, wait," he said.

"He thinks he can wave a magic wand," he continued, mocking Clinton's impression, "and suddenly everything will be great."

Obama then went in to his standard stump lines, saying it's true he "talks about hope a lot." He then defended his rationale in doing so.

As the line states at the bottom of the story, Obama was defending his rationale about hope. If your opponent attacks you without merit or makes false statements, you should correct the falsehoods and explain your views, especially when people will be voting on Tuesday.

I commend Obama for trying to run a clean, positive race. Hillary Clinton has been running a negative campaign since New Hampshire and she keeps lowering the bar as each week passes.

I hope the people in Ohio and Texas send Hillary the message on Tuesday that they do not want 4 more years of Bush-like actions or votes and that she should go home to New York before she ruins Obama's chance in November with her negative attacks this past month.

Please Ohio and Texas come through and put Obama over the top and let the nation move on. Obama should not have to defend himself from attacks from Hillary because he speaks of hope and turning our country around. She makes hope a dirty word. I frankly wish the skys would part and the Big Guy would tap Hillary on the shoulder and scold her for being so nasty.

Are we voting for President of the United States or a High School Class President?

It's hard to tell sometimes.

is this news that obama responded to some rather ugly campaigning by hillary clinton?
i don't think the word mock is appropriate in this case, he has never mocked of made fun of hillary specifically...that's her style not his.

The title of Obama mocking Clinton, mocking Obama is a little strong. If you watch the video, it doesn't live up to the billing.

Poor Hillary , the woman just can't win for losing, every time she volleys , Obama SMASES THE BALL BACK AT 120MPH. And apparently he can dance better than she can too!. :) The longer this contest continues, the safer it would be to say the word, OVERMATCHED, like Tiger Woods opponents or Micheal Jordan or Muhamad Ali's opponets were, when they were in their prime.

I hate to keep repeating myself, but Hillary should smack Wild Bill upside his head, for convinceing her to run for the Presidency and for not ever mentioning that having the CONSENSUS of the majority is generally pretty important when it comes to winning elections.

Wow, this guy is so original! I hope he can retain Hillary as his advisor when gets into the white house. He has been doing a great job of recycling her policies and speeches. And he is also an amazing speaker using some amazing old speechs or maybe they are his own: "I have a dream." Is that Obama' words? I cant seem to tell anymore. Well, I also like some of his other speeches. Oh the one "Four score and seven years ago." was a good speech also. I hope he hires some new writers when he gets in, so he can use more old "tried and true" speeches when people get tired of the old ones he overuses.

Can we say: President Nader.

My hope is that no matter what the Republicans throw at Barack

Obama, he will be able to turn it to his advantage.

Dealing with Hilary is just enough to warm him up to the challenge.

He's so boring. I just don't understand why anyone thinks he's actually going to be able to achieve what he's promising. Change to what? Like the Senate and the House are all of a sudden going to roll over and do his bidding?

Hillary has forged enough alliances with (R)'s that she could actually have a chance at getting an agenda through. Plus, hello, she's a proven fighter.

Obama? Oh mama...
