Obama Mocks Clinton Mocking Him
Last Sunday, Hillary Clinton "stood in the rec center at Rhode Island College and mocked fellow presidential candidate Barack Obama for his campaign's theme of hope, saying Obama can't just 'wave a magic wand and have the special interests disappear.'" [Watch video of Clinton here.] On Saturday, Obama took the same stage and couldn't resist bringing up her comments. CNN describes the scene:

"I think she was here, right?" Obama said toward the end of his stump speech. "She was saying 'Oh, you know, he thinks that the clouds will part and... [that] he's so naïve.'"

The room quickly erupted in "boos."

"Wait, wait, wait," he said.

"He thinks he can wave a magic wand," he continued, mocking Clinton's impression, "and suddenly everything will be great."

Obama then went in to his standard stump lines, saying it's true he "talks about hope a lot." He then defended his rationale in doing so.

This country needs some hope right now every bit asmuch as policy. We have been stripped of every benefit and right by a bunch of GOP thugs. Our first hope that we must work hard for is the election of a Democrat in the WH. Obama is our best hope to achieve that end.

I don't see this as mocking. It certainly isn't mean-spirited and sarcastic--not like Senator Clinton was. I think he handled her weird mocking bit very well, with grace.

Memo to the DNC: Tell your 2 brats to shut up unless they have something of substance to say.

Signed,

The GOP

This is what that counts:

Clinton trails in Texas, deadlocked in Ohio
By John Whitesides, Political Correspondent
Sun Mar 2, 1:16 AM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Hillary Clinton narrowly trails rival Barack Obama in Texas and the two are virtually tied in Ohio ahead of critical contests that could decide the fate of her presidential bid, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Houston Chronicle poll released on Sunday.

...

She now trails Obama in Texas by 4 points, 47 percent to 43 percent, up from a 2-point edge for Obama on Saturday. Obama's strength in the state's big cities and among men, young voters and blacks has offset her advantage with the state's sizable bloc of Hispanics and older voters.
...
-----------------------------

Remember, because Obama already has a 150 gelegate lead, and virtually assured a landslide win in Vermont, Hillary needs landslide victories in Texas and Ohio to remain competitive.

I think it is time that Hillary supporters get themselves ready for a concession speech by her on March 5, then get behind Obama to help him become:

President Barack Hussein Obama of the Unitesd States of America.

Man, that sounds good. It would be great to see Barack in the White House.

What was the point? Even in humor, he usually has more depth. He's tired... yes, that's it.

It's easy to see that Obama understands us, the average American, more than any candidate running.

That's why I'll vote for him. Its really not about speeches for me.

We need one of "us" in the White House.

What makes Obama supporters so sure if he is the nominee that we will all support him. There has to be a lot of making up when this is all over. And by the way, can the Obam Post try to show some objectivity.

I never was a hillary fan but when she mocks hope and Obama for giving me hope is when I no longer can even try to understand a woman I have seen so many personalities in a matter of a few days it makes my head spin. When she decided to run for president, I now am sure, her aspirations weren't based on hope, they were based on her believing she was entitled. I believe she is so hardened by her years in Washington, she has forgotten what hope is. How sad for her.

Just like her silly 3am phone ad, Hillary lobs something at him, he just picks it up and throws it back at her.

He did the same thing with McCain and the Al Qaeda in Iraq vs. Al Qaeda in Afganistan, situation.

And well done both times. I guess Hillary was wrong, Obama can take a punch, just fine. Which we'll need as Dems against the Repubs in the general election. I don't think Kerry did enough to fight back, actually, and when he did it, I don't think he was as nimble in his response as he needed to be. The Obama campaign, is very quick. Their response to that ad by Hillary was like 3 hours. Impressive.

Actually, obama, the unsoiled one, mocked Hillary after a debate in which they were asked to give their weakest aspect of themselves. The day after, obama was mocking Hillary and saying something about helping old ladies cross the street. This is a perfect example of the bias in the MSM toward Hillary. He mocks her, and not a peep out the press, but when Hillary mocked obama, it was front page news. How barf making.

THis guy is so phony. He has been condescending towards Hillary from the get go and has gotten a pass on everything he has said about her on the campaign trail. Again, he is so phony. I swear George W. Bush is starting to look good compared to this pompous ass.
