Richardson Comments On Face The Nation

Politico.com:

Richardson, on "Face the Nation" today:

I just think the D-Day is Tuesday. We have to have a positive campaign after Tuesday. Whoever has the most delegates after Tuesday, a clear lead, should be in my judgment the nominee.

There's a question of why not endorse Obama if you're going to take that public position. Though, as Richardson notes of political endorsements, "The key is I don't think anybody cares." (Jeff Berman cares!)

Actually, this falls into a broader category of what could be called "process endorsements" of Obama, superdelegates such as Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer who stay neutral, but whose stances on process match the Illinois senator's.

A possible reason why Richardson hasn't officially given his endorsement to Obama could be out of a sense of loyalty to the Clintons. Bill Clinton appointed him as UN ambassador and later as Secretary of Energy. He'll more than likely wait until after the Ohio and Texas primaries when Obama pulls significantly ahead of Clinton in total delegates. If that is the case, it is certainly an admirable trait for anyone, let alone a politician.

Meanwhile the house of representatives is collapsing again on telecom immunity. While we figure out who is driving the firetruck, the country is burning. And Bush / Cheney/ Rove have the matches.

The problem for Richardson is that he can't outright endorse Obama, after all his state did ultimately vote for Clinton, so is he supposed to go against his constituency?

Why not? Kerry and Kennedy apparently seem to have no problem supporting Obama when their State chose Hillary. It's a double standard. See, if people are pressuring a Super Delegate to support Obama, then the SD should use the logic that their State or constituents voted for Obama. If the SD or endorsers State went to Hillary, then apparently it's not important. Obama's Rules 101.

20 years of "dirt" on Senator Clinton is the result of being in politics and making enemies by standing up for what you believe in - this is called integrity. And, most of the "dirt" isn't about her anyway - it was her husband's affair - give me a break. Lest we forget how many presidents have had affairs while in office - President Kennedy even. McCain has the same issue with having made enemies. Stand up for what you think is right and you will have "dirt" because others will try to take you down no matter. Of course a new face wouldn't have had time to develop as many animosities. However, in Senator Obama's short time on the public scene, he has been saying one thing and doing another, which shows a disturbing trend for where his presidenty will lead us . . .

1. Today it has been confirmed by the Obama camp that his economic advisor told Canadian officials on the "down low" not to pay heed to his NAFTA criticism as it was just political rhetoric. Here's the background story:
http://www.youtube.com:80/watch?v=jAJYMgX4JuU

2. Senator Obama supposedly doesn't take federal lobbyist money. Not true.

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2007/08/09/pacs_and_lobbyists_aided_obamas_rise/

3. Senator Obama is supposedly a "uniter" who can bring people together and has good judgment. No evidence of that. This first article reveals a young Illinois Obama who is opportunistic, arrogant and a bully.
http://news.houstonpress.com/2008-02-28/news/barack-obama-screamed-at-me

This article questions any accomplishments that evidence "uniting."

4. Senator Obama is supposedly above "old Washinton politics." There are issues regarding his relationships with corporations, ads and being transparent about his donors.

Integrity does not create dirt; dirt is created for lack of integrity! Try again!

OBAMA'08

A soldier for the people
Who’s been up and who's been down
Though while on his journey
He has never turned around.

Facing more than flesh and blood
With Worthington’s two-faced hoard.
Opposing all who test his soul
With integrity as his sword.

The wicked casts their dark net
Over any they may charm.
Plotting to mislead the flock,
While pretending to do no harm.

He’ll expose the devious daily
As he works for you and me.
We're not alone in our struggle
To preserve America the free.

His personal goals of well being
Will never stand in the way
Of doing his public duty
No matter what others may say.

His devotion shall prove contagious
It's the brilliance of his kind
What you find within him
Is great character of mind.

With faith and courage, he must live
For his life to be complete
With good morals and family life
He’ll triumph, even in defeat.

He was raised to participate
Within his community
With his fellow men and women
He’ll enrich life, hope and liberty.

Hillary

An angry woman opens her mouth
And shuts her mind to reason.
She who stays slow to anger
Is loved by more each season.

Anger snuffs the lamp of thought
And it's hard to stay serene.
Where anger rules hatred thrives
Then the world we love turns mean.

She who fans the coals of hate
Has no reason to complain.
If some hot sparks scorch her face
Her anguish is thus her pain.

Anger is a human madness
Which consumes the heart and mind.
She who rules her spirit with love
Shall be praised by all mankind.

I don't envy Richardson's position. Remember that picture of him & Bill sitting a love seat watching the Super Bowl!

RIchardson's wording was interesting. "Whoever has the most delegates" not whoever wins. So even in Clinton squeaks out wins in Ohio, Texas and RI, and Obama wins Vermont, Obama would still be ahead in delegate count, and with Texas' delegate proportionality, he might be significantly ahead.

"Whoever has the most delegates" = Senator Obama

There are over 300 delegates up for grabs on Tuesday. Obama's lead is only 150. Anything is possible ...

No it isn't!!! If she and Obama split TX and OH where does she get the rest of the delegates? Even if she win 3 to Obama's one, she could not pick up more than + 15 delegates.
