Geraldo Won't Shake "Shameful" "Hate-Monger" Lou Dobbs' Hand

Geraldo Rivera appeared on "The View" today to promote his new book, His Panic, which prompted a discussion of how Americans fear immigrants. He explained that this fear is "a nativist reaction that started at the grassroots" and that it is "driven by the most savage talk radio campaign in history." When asked to name names, Geraldo targeted Rush Limbaugh and Lou Dobbs (who, incidentally, makes his debut as a talk radio host today).

"Lou Dobbs of CNN has been shameful in his hate-mongering," Geraldo said. "I would not shake his hand because this is a man that's done more damage to the cause of sensibile, comprehensive reform than anyone with a microphone."

HILLARIOUS! Can't anybody here figure out who to hate more?Dismissing Dobb's viewpoint because Dobbs said it is childish,same on Geraldo. Illegal immigration IS a liberal cause! Exploitation of illegal foreign workers to bolster company profits,displacemant of American workers,drain on health care,schools,law enforcement. And to the 20$ salad, I'm sure some enterprising American can figure out how to make one cheaper,cut his own grass, and clean his own house.

I can't stand Mr. Dobbs either, but there's at least one of these media demogoues in every city; and when we add in the national shows they pretty much have airwaves covered 24/7.

These people don't what is really they are channelling their frustration with society and government to one group of people. It is no longer smart or acceptable to direct it at Afro-Americans, so this is the evolution's of white men's fears. I know 'cause I'm caucasian too, and realized the message I was reared on were dangerous.

Just like the fears started with "grass-roots" it needs to be countered and beat back with a grass roots force.

Lou does a great job defending the middle class, yet he goes overboard (is fixated) on the immigration question. We need an immigration policy that is somewhat accommodating and humanitarian.

Geraldo (before FOX) used to be great many years ago. Are his hands kept so clean that he wouldn't shake Lou's?

There are more important issues to be considered.

Well said, Dandy. Lou is good for some things, but he does go ape-shit about illegal immigrants; however, I don't recall that geraldo was ever "great"......might be my faulty memory. I still see him opening Al Capone's EMPTY vault and laughing hysterically at the buildup and hoopla that led up to it.

I don't consider myself pro-Dobbs or anti-immigrant (the issue is documentation, by the way, and not immigrant per se), but the last time I took a plane to Mexico, I don't recall being allowed to walk into the country without a careful check of my documentation and reason for being there.
