Barack Obama sat for an interview with Nightline, which was previewed on Good Morning America today. He dismissed the tone of Hillary Clinton's recent national security ad, suggesting that her campaign had "gotten a little desperate" after their series of primary losses:

I expected big time dirt. I didn't expect a right wing creep in Canada to give out a phony leak. But however and whatever.
Wake up, America, the Neofreaks are doing it to you again.
The barrage of phony news is about the same as that that hit Dean. (But they hit him earlier.) This is going to be bloody.
OK, America, return to hate mode.
Hail Blackwater!!

It's Obama who is desperate. What campaign manager in his right mind would send out a memo today running victory laps before the polls open for tomorrow's primaries? Read Plouffe's memo here:

Hey mods -

If you check out my profile it says I've commented on this article twice. Funny enough, the posts aren't here.

CONSIDER IF HILLARY WAS AHEAD AND OBAMA BEHIND BY THE SAME DELEGATES. I'M SURE OBAMA WOULD DROP OUT (YEA). I FEEL HE HAS DODGED THE BULLET, BY THE MEDIA BLOWING HIS HORN. IN OUR HOUSE WE CALL HIM KING OBAMA. I DON'T KNOW IF HILLARY WILL WIN TEXAS OR OHIO, BUT I DO KNOW THE COUNTRY WOULD BE BETTER WITH HER AS PRESIDENT. HIS SUPPORTERS ARE SO IGNORANT. THEY CALL HILLARY ALL KINDS OF NAMES ON THE INTERNET. I FEEL THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG, WHEN PEOPLE HAVE TO ACT LIKE THAT TO SUPPORT A CANDIDATE. YOU COULD BE FOR SOMEONE, AND NOT HATE THE OTHER CANDIDATE. I GUESS THEY DIDN'T LEARN THIS.

Yeah,

what vincie said . . . . .

Because if Obama were behind by the same delegate count, he'd have $5 million to loan his campaign to keep going; he'd be able to get away with moving the "bar" with each consecutive loss; he'd have a spouse that had unfettered access to the majority of Super Delegates to negotiate for an endorsement or to keep silent about endorsing his opponent.

Yeah . . . . I can see it, it seems plausible. . . . . .

The ignorance of his supporters, their mean spirited "NAMES ON THE INTERNET"about Clinton, especially when Sen. Clinton's supporters are not guilty of any such nastiness (and I might add are highly intelligent for not doing so) in support of a candidate. Obama supporters didn't learn this, in the same way they didn't learn that AUTHORIZATION OF A PREEMPTIVE WAR IN THE NAME OF "PEACE", AGAINST A COUNTRY THAT DIDN'T ATTACK US ISN'T LOGICAL!!!!

Your desperation is comical. Obama supporters are ignorant? Most of the Clinton supporters are uneducated and/or old. FACT.

Clinton attacks Obama a lot, and most of the time it is unfairly or with a major twist.

But remember: Watch SNL to get your fair political coverage

Anyone know why Hillary is not delivering her tax returns for viewing? What is she hiding? Where did the money come from? Any of it "made in China?"

Why are Clinton supportER s so focused on Renzo but do not want anyone bringing up the ongoing court case, involving Clinton. The CA courts are holding court on PETER PAUL V CLINTON, what about that case where the evdience is clear cut with her fraud case. Look it up or even go to PETERFPAUL. See BO does not get into nasty campaigning as you can see by the fact he has not injected this case into the race. PETERPAUL V CLINTON PETERPAUL V CLINTON
also see NBC news article dated two days ago about IPA, see LISA MEYERS interview with Howard Wolfson, what about her being so prowomen and turning her back on the sex HARASSEMENT FROM HER DONOR. SEE NBC INVTERVIEW ON IPA AND CLINTON.
IS THIS WHO WE WANT IN THE WHITE HOUSE HIDING HER TAX RETURNS UNDER BILLS DESK?

Good for him.

He's both acknowledging what millions of people are already thinking, and avoiding getting into the petty back-and-forth.

Has anyone else noticed that Obama frequently scores big points by simply pointing out the nature of his opponent's strategy? He did it last week with McCains Iraq attack. It's political Aikido - rather than opposing directly, let the attacker beat him/herself up with his/her own force.

Even if you don't like Obama, you have to admit it's a winning strategy. If his opponents are smart, they'll steal it.

Or maybe it is because he has nothing to run on.

So Hillary is losing to a guy running on nothing? Doesn't say much for her, does it?.

Fortunately for you and for her, that's not the case. If you're not up to speed on the substance of his campaign, go educate yourself. His positions are detailed at www.barackobama.com/issues. Too close to the stump speech? Watch nearly an hour of unscripted, substantive Q&A at a Google's Speaker Series here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4yVlPqeZwo. You want more, say the word.

Of course you won't, because you're not here to learn anything, you're here to lob silly anonymous insults at strangers.

Exactly. He has to keep talking about his opponent's strategy, because he can't talk about any key issues or anything he has actually accomplished.

And so far he has gotten away with it. Till McCain and the Republicans I am sure.

Is it DESPERATION which delays the TAX RETURN of the ex Prez and his Hillary? I mean, it must be ok for us to see them if we are to hand over our most precious posession to that woman, the United States of America!

Where are your tax returns, Hillary!

Please take a minute to consider. It has nothing to do with the Presidential election, but has everything to do with applying either of Obama's or Hillary's ideas in 2009.

From: AMERICA, INC.
To: All Blog Posting Surrogates
Priority: High

It is imperative that today’s all-out effort to attack/rebut in favor of HRC is successful - she must win all of tomorrow’s primaries to stay in this race and to have any chance of winning the Democrat nomination. As you all realize, with a McCain vs. Clinton matchup in the general election, we win either way!
Keep up the good work, and remember, your reward is the great respect you’ll garner from your fellow patriotic employees.

Thank you, and God Bless AMERICA INC.

I have this little tidbit of news for you which might give you an ulcer and spoil your victory party!

If Obama does not get the nomination, do you think that the high percentage of Americans who voted for him will switch their vote to Hillary Clinton? Never! Do you think Republicans with a life long conservative voting record, like myself, who are firmly supporting Obama, will give their vote to Hillary? Never!
I predict that if Obama does not get the nomination, maybe 50% will give Hillary their vote but the 50%, which includes many young people, will switch to McCain! Hillary Clinton will NOT be President of the United States!
The woman is arrogant enough to withhold her Tax records from the people who she wants to vote for her. No more Clinton's in the oval office!

I'm sitting here typing with a peg on my nose, because of the stench of desperation coming from Clinton's supporters.

But I'll try to reach out and do the decent thing. If you're for Hillary, please don't do anything drastic on Wednesday morning. Just remember the old adage: win some, lose some.

In this case, you've lost.

The NAFTA thing is bogus..Hillary was ACCUSED of the same thing...she denied it and that's good enough for you, but when Obama says he also denies it...nooo it's gotta be true!!! It's a REPUBLICAN STORY PLANT supposedly to benefit McCain. The Rezko thing is also a red herring. go chase it to your heart's content.

I myself have been asking, where are the tax records Hillary?? Where are those elusive whitehouse papers?? Why are you evading process servers in the Peter Paul case...you know that little problem you have wtih campaign finance fraud??

Bogus? I don't think the campaign memo was bogus...unless your calling the Obama campaign bogus. You guys don't like when a lil scrutiny is thrust on your candidate. You and he should grow a spine.

The media is giving your girl a pass. When she has to ask a single question about Norman Hsu (is he in jail yet?), Sandy Berger (her senior foreign policy advisor, who was nearly indicted for espionage), her tax returns, Bill's shady pardons, et. al., then she can say she's fully vetted.

You guys have been screaming "REZKO" for months. NO ONE CARES.

Ditto

Look her attacks this week and the coverage on the news cycle has shown her to be more vital than she has ever been. If she had campaigned like this from the start. She knew she had the negatives, she might as well of been the Warrior - B people though she was. Too little to late now.

She might win Ohio, but Texas is going to be close, Vermont for Barack and Rhode Island probably split.

Net delegate gain Obama. Headlines "Hillary stops Obama's momentum" she wins one. But does she really. The rest of the calendar bodes well for Obama.

Hillary's supporters mock Obama, on who is nasty now, as soon as he bites back. So we will take the high road, but be warned. You haven't seen the worst of "Where's her supposed Foreign Policy Experience". We have bombs too.

From Taegan Goddard's Political Wire 3 March 2008 :

A new SurveyUSA poll in Ohio shows Sen. Hillary Clinton "appears to stop the momentum" of Sen. Barack Obama and now leads 54% to 44%.

"Three weeks ago, Clinton led by 17. Two weeks ago, Clinton led by 9. One week ago, Clinton led by 6. Today: Clinton stops sliding."

Key finding: "The 16 minutes that Clinton spent arguing with Obama about health care at this week's NBC News debate appears to have paid off. Slightly more voters now name health care as the most important issue, and among those who do, Clinton today leads by 24 points, up from a 7-point lead last week.

PPP Poll: Clinton Takes Lead in Texas
The final Public Policy Polling survey in Texas shows Sen. Hillary Clinton taking a six point lead over Sen. Barack Obama, 50% to 44%.

Key finding: "The Hispanic vote saved Hillary Clinton in California, and now it looks like it might do the same in Texas. She is getting almost as much of the Hispanic vote as Obama is of the black vote and that's propelled her to the lead in the state."

PPP Poll: Clinton Expands Lead in Ohio
The final Public Policy Polling survey in Ohio shows Sen. Hillary Clinton expanding her lead over Sen. Barack Obama from 4 points in our poll last weekend to 9 points, 51% to 42%.

I see. He reached a plateau, is still there, and the only way ahead is down. Nochnoi, where are you

Hmm. This looks like all national polls. The RealClearPolitics site has state polling data:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/oh/ohio_democratic_primary-263.html

It looks like Hillary has taking a relatively consistent lead in the polls in Ohio, and enjoys an average 6.4 % lead there, which would be beyond the sampling error in each of the contributing polls. Obama has a slim lead in the Texas poll.

Of course, let's not forget how bad the polling has been -- even recently. Clinton did make a belated attempt to capture Wisconsin and polls suggested a tightening race there. The final polling numbers gave Obama a statistically-insignificant 4 point lead. He won by 17.

How long have you been posting on the Huff? I'm voting for Obama, I can't stand Hillary. The above post of mine relates to other posts I have---both here and on another thread--- where I say I am starting to get nervous, that Obama may have peaked too soon, and that I didn't like the look, feel or sound of today's newscasts, polls, etc. Anyone on the Huff who has read my posts of the last week knows I am for Obama.
