Brook Shields represents for me the meaning of uni-brow, no more or no less.
....boring
Like some previous posters said, her history as a child sex symbol and her awful stage mom would have given her every excuse to turn out as bad as Britney,Lindsey, and others. But she overcame and turned out rather well. Good for her.
One thing she had going for her that Britney didn't is intelligence. Another is that she didn't experience a meteoric rise to super-star status when she was just a teenager; she had time to adjust.
The difference is that pop culture "Marylin Monroe'd" Spears. She was objectified and packaged and exploited. Brooke Shields was not. You can argue about the characters she played as a young child (same with Jodi Foster, no?) were inappropriate for her age. But she was never commodified like Britney Spears. I feel terrible for that poor girl.
Brooke Shields is a beautiful, graceful woman.
Yes, she's a lovely woman. But to say she's more beautiful now than she ever was in the past... well it's ridiculous (at least to this beholder). That may be true of some women. But Brooke Shields' beauty peaked at a young age in my opinion. Just an objective observation.
I think she was beautiful in her teens. But she has no talent be sides "Model!"
She's trying hard to be in show business. Her new show looks like "Sex in
the City." Does it?
It's from the same writer as SITC, Candace Bushnell. Same Prodcer too, I think.
Looks like she finally grew into those eyebrows.
Always loved her chin dimples but alas, she's a nut scientologist.
What a shame. Maybe the aliens will come back and straighten her out.
Randy
She is NOT a Scientologist. She's the one that got into it with Tom Cruise over Psychiatry and post partum depression. So the aliens can pass her by.
Please check your facts.
Brooke Shields is a CRITIC of scientology.
If anything, she's a nut-CRACKER. (sorry)
Tom Cruise attacked Shields for taking medication for post-partum depression. She is NOT a Scientologist.
This lady is only around 42. When she did her publicity tour for her book a couple of years ago she did not look nearly as good as she does now with the super-Hollywood makeup and feminine mystique job. However, we all love her, partly because she was taken advantage of as a child. She did nude scenes when she was twelve years old and apparently had the ultimate stage mom. She has maintained her adult career against all odds and we are all wishing her the best. Despite every up and down in her life she comes across as a real person whose heart is in the right place.
It's strange how you jump from first to third person.
Other than that, I agree, we should applaud her success.
She is more beautiful now than she ever was before
Beauty AND brains. She remains the total package.
Had the pleasure of meeting her about 15 years ago.
After about 6 hours of heavy PR for some shampoo line, she was still friendly, gregarious, and graceful.
She had every chance to turn out like some of the worst case scenarios we've seen over the past 15 or 20 years, yet she remains the picture of class.
Why, why, why are they wasting their lead on this when K Fed could be getting fat!
Priorities people
Funny. Gorgeous. Smart. Comfortable in her own skin.
And, took Tom Cruise down a peg.
What's not to love?
Brooke is head and shoulders above Tom Cruise (if you know what I mean)!
Smart, funny, and still beautiful.
Isn't that the movie where she played the pre-teen prostitute?
Yes - the film is by the great French director Louis Malle.
"It is in fact a true story based on anecdotes brought forward in a famous book on Storyville written by Al Rose back in 1974. It's a word-of-mouth, no-holds barred chronicle by then-living denizens of Storyville who were there to experience it first-hand. "

It's a movie that would not, could not be made in the current environment. Susan Sarandon and Keith Carradine also appear in the film. Brooke's mother may have been a cretin, but she got lucky when she wangled her daughter a part in this film - it's not great, but it is surprisingly good.
I've not watched Craig much, though I do think he's funny. But for some reason last night I had the TV on and it was late and I was trying to relax so I could sleep and I had Craig on. Well, in very short order I was laughing out loud. He was just damn funny and quick and silly.
When Brooke Shields came out and traded wit and funnies with Ferguson I was actually very impressed. She's as quick as anyone with the reparte; very smart woman. I've never been much enthralled with her acting abilities, but she is intelligent, witty with just the right touch of bawdiness - and damn, she needs her own late night talk show. Hell, she didn't go to Princeton for nuttin'.
