COLUMBUS, Ohio — Hillary Rodham Clinton finally had a confetti night. The Democratic presidential hopeful claimed victory in the Ohio primary Tuesday night and said that means, "We're going strong and we're going all the way."

Confetti rained down on her Ohio rally as she took the stage. She told the crowd her performance was a victory for everyone who's been "counted out but refused to be knocked out."

She and Barack Obama were in a tight race in Texas as she spoke, and her claim of Ohio victory had yet to be affirmed. Earlier, Clinton broke Obama's winning streak by taking Rhode Island, after Obama was declared the winner in Vermont.

Despite the turn of fortune, Clinton's still got an uphill fight to overcome Obama's lead in delegates.

Im sorry to see Clinton-Bush-Rove style politics still works in 2008 - guess there's still plenty of ignorant voters who want more of the same...

Does her confetti moment mean Hillary will finally release her tax returns and tell us exactly where her $5 million campaign loan come from?

Given the history of the Clintons and their friends and associates, I just feel I cannot trust her until I can understand better who is funding this race.

She did.

What do you think they made the confetti with?

Just asking RButler, why Hillary does not think she has to play by the same rules as everyone else? As we look for Democratic unity after the primaries, it is imperative that we operate under the same set of rules and focus on the major goal of bringing a Democratic President to the White House.

If the tables were turned, and Barack was behind in the delegates and refused to release tax returns, there would be outrage. Hillary gets by because of her last name, not because of her experience (fighting her numerous scandals, and what else? I can't really recall anything extraordinary).

Let's have a fair race so that when is all said and done, we can agree on the undisputed winner. I personally, could never vote for a cheater.

she doesn't have to show her tax return until Obama closes how he came to own that lot next to his 1.6 million dollar mansion.

Maybe Obama will tell everyone where he's getting his grassroots money from:

Oh Jesus, do you really think that the tax returns are an issue?

Do you think that the press, IRS and repubs have not looked into those issues?

The only reason MSM [main stream media] has not made an issue of it, notwithstanding Russerts moronic questions at the last debate about the issue, is because there is nothing dirty there.

Do you really think that the Clintons are and have been cheating on their taxes and that they won't disclose their returns so to hide this fact?

Do you really think that the IRS and others in the Administration have not looked over the Clintons' finances?

Quit being a moron. For one thing, it was only a $5 million loan. That's nothing compared to how much money is funding both campaigns.

And more importantly, if you followed the news you would know that where the money came from was sales of her book, which did well. Heck, I think even MSNBC announced that about three weeks ago. I was surprised that Russert made it such an issue at the debate, acting like there was something to her not releasing her tax returns.

Personally I think she loaned her campaign the money as a strategy, so to send the message that we are all in this together and to motivate people to contribute. That worked because last month she had a record setting month of donations from small contributors.

And the people funding her race are people like me, who have donated in small amounts, but frequently [I have donated four times in the past two months.]

Question to Bigots and Racist... Would a Barack Presidency diminish your "Whiteness"... your good feeling of at least not being Black?
When an African American man becomes the leader of the free world How would that feel to you? From the early days of the country there has been a caste system embedded in our society. African slaves imported as beast of burden also served a Dual role as an underclass, A feel good factor for Bigots and racist... I mean you know when your thinking, "things are bad but at least I'm not a Ni@@er"...

How will that effect your overall mood , do you suppose you will go into depression mentally ? I know it will be a burden lifted off the shoulders of African Americans......

Ugh, stop giving us principled Obama supporters a bad name by always blaming the race issue. Yes, race is an issue. But so is gender. The only person who isn't fighting bias is John McCain.

Take a look at the Exit polls and see how many Clinton voters said race was a factor in their votes. "White ethnic" who overwelming support HRC in RI and OH are notoriously disinclined to vote for minority candidates. That's just a sad fact. The good news is that young white voters more likely to vote for a minority candidate.

Except that McCain is old and ugly...

BTW- As a white lady who voted for Obama, I am disgusted and ashamed that a huge number of voters openly confess to having trouble voting for a black candidate. WTF???

I know this is hard to understand, thatwasntfunny, but if you look inside the numbers you will see that it is actually the blacks who are more likely to vote in lock step. In OH they voted 86% to 13% for Obama. Now that's racism!

McCain is fighting bias as well. In the GE the issue of whether his service and captivity as a POW will come up as to his suitability psychologically. It's dirty, but you watch, it will come up. Especially if Hillary is the nominee. She's proven that she'll use anything she can to get elected, just like her husband.
