COLUMBUS, Ohio — Hillary Rodham Clinton finally had a confetti night. The Democratic presidential hopeful claimed victory in the Ohio primary Tuesday night and said that means, "We're going strong and we're going all the way."

Confetti rained down on her Ohio rally as she took the stage. She told the crowd her performance was a victory for everyone who's been "counted out but refused to be knocked out."

She and Barack Obama were in a tight race in Texas as she spoke, and her claim of Ohio victory had yet to be affirmed. Earlier, Clinton broke Obama's winning streak by taking Rhode Island, after Obama was declared the winner in Vermont.

Despite the turn of fortune, Clinton's still got an uphill fight to overcome Obama's lead in delegates.

Everything is in Hillarys favor

Delegate math still not in her favor. True statement, but let's get real folks. She wins where it counts and where it will count come November. BE REALISTIC. If BO is rejected in the larger states, what good does it do us if he is the nominee and McCain wins?

Heard some conservative talk radio heads yesterday going off about Rezko, Ayers, and then MAnn Coulter spewing what will be the typical crap about Michelle Obama. We need to realize the general population has not heard all this before, and the right will continue with this drumbeat.

Seems to me it's time to make that Clinton-Obama ticket so they can use their strength against the spin. And again, Obama will then have the necessary experience to take over the presidency and Democratic rule for 16 years will yield some wonderful results.

And please don't go off about Clinton's Iraq vote and Obama's 2002 speech, as we'll then have to take into consideration Obama's 2004 speech when he said he was not experienced enough to run for president.

Think logically, not emotionally.

so after she humiliates herself by spreading lies on him he is just supposed to fall for the reverse LBJ?

Are you crazy?

I would rather he run Indy first he can win.

Also, If hillary wins the big states she won them against a DEM not a REP buddy.

OBAMA crushes Mcain hand down, with hillary its close. I think he could beat her.

People hate CLINTON and they have multiple reasons.

I'm sensing emotion here.

Exactly what lies did she spread?

And as for an Indy ticket, you're joking, right? That will split the Dems and again, McCain comes out the winner.

It's not necessarily so that he would beat McCain. Dribs and drabs of Obama's history are make it into the press now and that will not stop any time soon. The public (those folks that voted for Bush) will buy into the negativity, and McCain will win handily over Barack.

You might hate Clinton, others might too, but you have to see that half the Democratic people in the nation are still choosing her.

Again, use your head, not your heart.

Are you saying that the will of the democratic voters doesn't count?

Not at all. But it appears you're only seeing the will of half of the Democratic voters. There are plenty of Clinton supporters and you have to see that or I wonder about your common sense (and I mean that respectfully). I can't help but sense that you are not thinking, but feeling, and that is not a way to win the presidency.

The party is split on these 2 candidates; not everyone is voting Obama.

I still don't see Hillary as the more experienced candidate. She has a longer record of being wrong on more issues if that counts. She has a longer record of being involved in more scandals. She is not a good choice.

Obama has led this race since Day 1 and continues to lead. Hillary is ecstatic over picking up 10-15 delegates. Some people are easily impressed with themselves.

She's come along way from declaring herself the "inevitable" candidate to the point where such a small victory can be portrayed as monumental. The most famous woman in the country has enough votes to continue to pretend she can win!

Well the delegate math may not appear in her favor right now, but the popular vote may be at some point, especially if Florida and Michigan are included. Then who won't be doing things in a democratic way?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:03 PM on 03/05/2008

Even if you include Florida which had record turnout, she'd still be behind. He wasn't on the ballot in MI.

from Judicial Watch:
In addition to her long and sordid ethics record, Senator Hillary Clinton took a lot of heat in 2007 – and rightly so – for blocking the release her official White House records. Many suspect these records contain a treasure trove of information related to her role in a number of serious Clinton-era scandals. Moreover, in March 2007, Judicial Watch filed an ethics complaint against Senator Clinton for filing false financial disclosure forms with the U.S. Senate (again). And Hillary’s top campaign contributor, Norman Hsu, was exposed as a felon and a fugitive from justice in 2007. Hsu pleaded guilt to one count of grand theft for defrauding investors as part of a multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme.

Wow, what a show she put on about getting 7 additional delegates!

What would she have done if she'd received 10? "This calls for a ticker tape parade!"

Of course, voters in South Carolina and elsewhere may remember she didn't even THANK them for supporting her if the state didn't go in the "win" column.

Then again, those were the "unimportant voters" in "unimportant states", right?

Hillary Clinton on FREE TRADE:

"I support the trade agreement with Peru. It has very strong labor and environmental protections. This agreement makes meaningful progress on advancing workers' rights, and also levels the playing field for American workers. Most Peruvian goods already enter the U.S. duty free, but our exports to Peru have been subject to tariffs."

I hope you dipshits that voted for her lose your jobs. You need to get your heads out of your asses.

You're right, we're better off with Obama who made a (wink, wink) agreement with Canada that NAFTA would stay intact, while telling the people of Ohio that he would fix it.

Come on, now wake up to reality

I am so happy for her. After 12 straight wins it is about time, but she had to go negative to get it. Could not stand on her 35 years of experience.

The Canadian Government apologized to Senator Obama, but wonder how it got out in the first place, just before the elections.

Come on. We all do not drink the kool-aid, some of us sell it.

Can you see it when its Obama vs McCain and every time Obama's name is mentioned that his middle name Hussein is said each time? Barack Hussein Obama. All the Obama crybabies on here will be saying, no fair.

Barack Hussein Obama is a beautiful name and it has a beautiful meaning: "blessed and handsome" as translated in Semitic languages. We have many American leaders and heroes who also have Semitic names, such as Gen. Omar Bradley -- so are you Repugs going to be bigots about all names given to Americans by their own parents?

How very small-minded you are, and how very sad.

AND SO THEY ARE....

Ronald Reagan made fun of Mike Dukakis's (Greek-origin) name during the 1988 Presidential election. This was especially hard to forgive/forget, since Reagan actually mocked the sound of Dukakis' name by deliberately mispronouncing it. It's the one thing Republicans excel at. (Witness George Allen's "Macaca Moment:" in 2006.) Fortunately, Americans have gotten past this kind of thing enough that someone with a foreign-sounding name can now (hopefully) be elected President....

My little nephew's name is Amir. We are an African-American family and , like Muhammed Ali, we have trained him not to let anybody disrespect who he is. We have a lot of experience facing ignorant cowards, bigots, hypocrits, stupid people and trash of all persuasions who have no idea about how vast and diverse their countrymen are. There are people with Semitic names giving their lives in Iraq right now. As a Obama supporter I don't have the time or anything to cry about. Life is not fair. We just counter with the name "George Bush, George Bush, George Bush".

Neither candidate, no matter what happens, will get to the magical number to win the nomination before the convention. The Democratics who re-tooled the primary process back in the 1970s should have played out all the possible scenarios, of which this is one - two candidates running neck and neck dividing the country.

Had the system been set up in a winner take all fashion, Hillary would be the nominee. Having said that, neither candidate should be forced to concede, because those are not the rules and that is not the process. The system is obviously flawed and the Democrats (I am one, by the way) have yet again found a way to be disorganized and fragmented.

I think we all need to brace ourselves for a brokered convention, and that's just how it is. Personally, I do not understand why or how this was made so complicated - caucuses (which seem un-democratic), super delegates (giving too much power to too few), primaries of all types (independents can participate, party affiliations only, etc.), proportionate delegates based on districts (splitting hairs over nothing), states that are banned from participating (completely un-democratic) - the list goes on and on.

I am a Democrat, and I must say, I am appalled at how this party always manages to screw itself in the end. It really is ridiculous.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:12 PM on 03/05/2008

If Michigan and Florida are allowed to conduct primaries in June, then Hillary may well win the elected delegate count.

If not, then the super-delegates will have an awesome responsibility. For their commitment to the Democratic party, they've earned their right to participate, along with caucus and primary voters.

Oh yes, we are great at finding a way to muck things up. And who came up with the Texas 2-step? What kind of crazy sh*t is that? They allow you to vote early, but then you must return on a specific night at a certain time to sign your name. WHY? Who came up with that?

She is so liked , she kept telling people to send her money at her speech last night. She knows there is no chance of winning so she begs for more money. She had her cronies with her begging as well.

Clinton/Obama is no win to me. Can you imagine how she would treat him in the White House after race baiting him for the campaign.

No way. She has the experience let her get the votes on her qualifications, since that is what America wants. Someone with experience.

Now why would you say that?

First off, she didn't race bait him - that's just nonsense and it's insulting that you repeat that spin.

Secondly, he can learn the ways of DC which will in turn make him an even better commander in chief.

Don't let your emotions get in the way. Think with your head - what is best for our country?

She cant catch him. She should have conceded when that was realized. She is nothing more than another Huckabee. What this is, is the DLC trying to maintain its hold on the democratic party. If they do then the party is nothing better than GOP II.

Confetti?

She needs to win by 97% of the rest of the contests to win the nomination. Winning 51% to 48% isn't going to get it done.

WaPo and HuPo are crazy to think that this will ultimately be in Obama's favor. Superdelegates and the Convention process will have to iron out the details on whom to be the nominee regardless of the 'small' lead in pledged delegates. Why do you think Obama couldn't ask Hillary to simply stop the primary process and give him the nomination? Because he doesn't have the 2024 even if this whole primary finishes in 3 months. All he can hope for is to be chosen by his pledged and superdelegates. Guess what? The same process and logic apply to Senator Clinton. In this process, she could be the Democratic Nominee and the better choice to defeat McCain.

So, after HRC wins in PA, the last big populous state left and takes the popular vote lead, even without Florida, you support all superdelegates nominating her, right?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:57 PM on 03/05/2008

Guess what? If they turn this agains the vote of the people / delegates then I am staying home and so are alot of other people. If the DLC takes this away from Obama a whole new democratic party never happens and we are back to the same ol' shit. If they make clinton the nominee then they want to lose in the general.
