Hillary Clinton Daily Show

Hillary Clinton appeared (via satellite from Texas) on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on the eve of the crucial Texas and Ohio primaries. The segment began on a humorous note before turning to campaign themes. Stewart opened the interview by saying that "this election is about judgment, and tomorrow is perhaps one of the most important days of your life, and yet you've chosen to spend the night before talking to me." Clinton responded, "It is pretty pathetic." The interview then turned more serious and focused on the race for the Democratic nomination.

Well just be glad he didn't use all that time to point out the details of the Obama House purchase, how Obama and Rezko hatched the idea to split the parcel with the help of Michelle's City Hall connections

If you guys had any idea what the Repugs have on the Clintons--you would perhaps not bring Rezko up so much...the Chicago Tribune has had this story for years and they chose to endorse Obama...you don't think they would have dug something up by this time????? you guys are so desperate....better you should...remember Rezko has a picture with Hillary and Bill and he gave money to Antony Villaraigosa, Mayor of Los Angeles...Villaraigosa is Hillary's national Chair ...how do you think Rezko met Villaraigosa? through Hillary???

I have never read such stupid shit. This democrat is saying she'd rather see McCain in the white house instead of another democrat! Just for that, she should lose badly. And if she wins today, she will lose, badly I would never vote for a republican in the general but I damn sure won't vote for her and I know many others who won't either. Besides, the Democratic base will make her ass lose just for the dirty deeds in the primary.

What democrat would even consider anything Scarborough has to say? Why is he all up in the Democrats race? Because Methuselah needs help and Joe’s prodding weak minded voters to help Hillary to win. I wonder what Rush Jr is to, NOT.

Obama is a shammer - I have been saying this all along! It's nice to see others finally seeing through his thin record and numerous scandals.

Yet again, it's just showing that his words are EMPTY because he's nothing more than an ordinary run-of-the-mill politician who can preach. I want to see REAL CHANGE in this country and feel confident that the person I help to put in office is experienced, tested and competent to be there.

No more BUSH incompetence! Vote Hillary Clinton 2008!

it is pathetic that you political neophytes do not understand that no one has to concede in a primary. Any candidate can and many have stayed in the race up and til the convention.

There is no rule out there that says one has to step aside of a one hit (2002 speech) wonder who has peaked and is falling / thundering back to earth. Sorry.

It says a lot about you to refer to your ex wife that way. People who tend to blame the other person for all the problems in a marriage usually lack self awareness and could benefit by some therapy.
FYI, I'm sure at Hillary's age, menopause is way in the past.
You might want to educate yourself before you vomit in the comments section again.

Hillary can't catch up. It's mathenatically impossible short of a landslide (65% or more) in all the remaining contests.

If she hangs on afte rtoday, she will only harm the party's chances. She has gone increasingly negative, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Obama. This will take a toll if it continues for months. She won't win even though she's playing dirty, but it will give plenty of material for the GOP to work with.

It is a choice of putting personal ego ahead of the party. Does Hillary really want the Democrats to lose just to spite them if she can't be the nominee? Is Hillary really a Nader-like figure, who would rather the whole country go down i nflames than let a rival like Gore win in 2000?

This is dangerous for the party and the coutnry. We can't afford four more years of GOP rule. Is Hillary going to damage our nominee and make that happen? Does she want to be responsible for destroying America only out of spite, out of being a sore loser?

If Hillary doesn't bow out on March 5th, the party should, as Bill Richardson said, come together around whoever has a substantial lead in the delegate count -- Obama. We need to end this as a party and not let Hillary's personal ego ruin 2008 for us.

The GOP wants this to go on. The media loves bloody conventions for ratings. The Dems should be smart and wrap this up. We can't lose the country just because one woman doesn't know how to lose with honor!!

I got a crazy idea..............why not let the voters decide?
Or maybe, to your point, and for the good of the party, maybe Obama should step aside...........with honor, of course.
And for the good of the country.

It's simple:

1. Obama's way ahead (think delegates and what it takes to catch up)
2. The longer this fight goes on the more likely McCain is to be the next president.

Think about the difference between "can" and "should", not relative to your candidate preference but to your party preference.

I am an Obama supporter and while Hillary looked, and sounded tired she was of good cheer and a fine sport with Jon.

Mr. Stewart himself did the imposible (for anyone but him) he was at once respectful and kind but cutting and politically pertinent.

It was a good show that could have done nothing if not to help Hillary's image.

If you knew me you would know I have been an Obama supporter since I started hearing his speeches in his runfor the Senate. If you care to simply read my prior posts you will see I am a strong supporter, even to the degree tha I have said I will not vote for HRC if she wins by fear mongering or causing the seating of disqualified delegates.

You are the kind of Obama supporter that's tarnishing Obama.

If we, as a party, cannot treat each other with respect we do not deserve to win, it wont make any difference.

Inside The Kitchen Sink

From the NYT:

After struggling for months to dent Senator Barack Obama’s candidacy, the campaign of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is now unleashing what one Clinton aide called a “kitchen sink” fusillade against Mr. Obama, pursuing five lines of attack since Saturday in hopes of stopping his political momentum.

Let's see what has been tossed inside the kitchen sink:

-A vicious email smear campaign, falsely portrays Obama as a Muslim. He has been a devout Christian for 20 years. The Clinton camp has the opportunity to firmly decry such tactics, or to sow the seeds of doubt. Clinton on 60 minutes: If he says that he is a Muslim "I'll take him at his word";

- A picture of Obama dressed in traditional Somali garb, mysteriously arises and is splashed across the front page of the Drudge Report, designed, like the above, to inflame the most base and simplistic prejudices. Again, the Clinton campaign has the opportunity to refuse to use prejudice and stereotype to political advantage. Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams responds: "If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed";

-Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, is a Conservative. His Chief of Staff Ian Brodie leaks supposed minutes of statements by an Obama aide. The statement is not by the Obama aide, and the minutes were not taken by the Obama aide, they were taken by a Canadian official. Liberal Canadian parties decry the attempt by the Conservative Party to influence the U.S. election. The Clinton camp accepts this specious account as valid--and throws it in the kitchen sink as well;

-The Clinton camp, in Drudge-like fashion, insinuates dark misdoings regarding Antoin Rezko--despite the fact that there has been absolutely no allegations of wrongdoing by Obama--hoping perhaps that the mere association will stick--and despite the questions that have been raised about Clinton fundraising during the years of her own "experience";

-The Clinton campaign rolls out the hackneyed "red phone" advertisement, dating to Walter Mondale's 1984 campaign, to suggest that she, unlike Obama, has greater experience for such "3 A.M. moments". When asked to name one such crisis situation that she has actually had to deal with, she is unable to name one.

-Mark Penn, the Clinton campaign's chief strategist, in the weekend panic, emails the L.A. Times to state that he had "'no direct authority in the campaign,' describing himself as merely 'an outside message advisor with no campaign staff reporting to me.'"

This sink is filled with the type of fear-based politics that we have come to know so well over these past 8 years. It is fundamentally defensive, and is all-too-willing to use the familiar tools of dishonesty and distortion in pursuit of victory. It indicates how a Clinton Administration would respond to adversity--with a tactical fusillade of presentations, followed by distortion and attack.

It's time to clean the dishes. Don't allow yourself to be misled by misrepresentation, insinuation and division. Leave this kind of politics behind."

I read the Canada Memo story yesterday. Both the Obama advisor and the Canadian administration are saying the memo falsly portrays the conversation in question. During the meeting NAFTA was discussed for just a few moments and Obama's position was nevcer characterized as in any way falsly political. This is just another HRC support straw man.

So lets see, the inept Clinton campaign is now controlling emails, Drudge, the Canadian government, and the MSM now that they've started questioning Obama about Rezko?

You know, we had a bad winter storm here in the midwest recently. Bet that was her fault also.

I thought she was funny. It stopped the production of a voodoo doll I was making in her image. I'm kidding of course but it did temper my intense dislike for her. Given her multitude of scandals and shady dealings she probably doesn't think her dirty politics is as bad as we do. I disagree but at least I laughed a little and realized she could be useful to the Democratic Party in the future. I mean that much charm with an ability to get seriously dirty and her killer instinct is not good for president but could be great at putting BushCo behind bars.

Anybody see Harold ickes (as in Icky) on Charlie Rose last night...Tom Daschle appeared for Obama and he was brilliant...would make a fabulous VP....Harold had to pitch for Hillary and it was almost physcially embarrassing for him to answer Charlie's questions about Hillary's campaign and her ad. I actually felt sorry for the guy trying to make a case for Hillary when her behavior was so dispicable...and when it required him to actually lie...he begged off on answering some of the tougher questions and he pulled out his civil rights bona fides to try and offset Bill's racist behavior. He tried to do his duty but it was so hard to support a candidate who has run a lousy campaign and who had no ethics whatsoever...I think Ickes was probably up for it in his earler years, but age often makes it harder to rationalize ethical lapses and piss poor judgement .
He was pathetic and he felt that way it showed in his answers and his face. Daschle was low-key and so very effective in talking about Obama...he was also better dressed. Ickes looked like he had wandered in off Times square...
