Hillary Clinton Daily Show

Hillary Clinton appeared (via satellite from Texas) on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on the eve of the crucial Texas and Ohio primaries. The segment began on a humorous note before turning to campaign themes. Stewart opened the interview by saying that "this election is about judgment, and tomorrow is perhaps one of the most important days of your life, and yet you've chosen to spend the night before talking to me." Clinton responded, "It is pretty pathetic." The interview then turned more serious and focused on the race for the Democratic nomination.

After Hillary responded to Stewart's question re how all three "main" presidental candidates could conceivably end up in each other's cabinets with "There are great ideas on both sides of the aisles" or some such, I noticed something...

Although I usually focus more on a person's eyes (windows on the soul, all that), I couldn't help noticing that now even her face is leaning towards the right.

Although that may be my bias arising from my knowledge that she intends to reward those private health insurance companies that have - for years now - made an art form out of dropping sick people and delaying procedure authorizations until the person dies and it becomes unnecessary with money from every single American's pocket.

I could be wrong, I suppose; maybe whoever handles disbursements to private health insurance companies will take their past records into consideration and ban the bad ones from access to all government programs.

lolll...but I doubt it.

But I thought Obama was so great beacuse he was a uniter. Didn't he say he would do the same thing, but I guess it's a bad idea because she said it. Now I get it.

And I didn't even say "I bet you Hillary's picks from the other side of the aisle all lean towards those with ideas that benefit the wealthy and big corporations!".

Even her supporters infer it...

reading the talkback I feel strongly this extended primary is tearing at the democratic party. The supporters of each side are beginning to loathe each other. We need to get this resolved or we will end up with mccain and more war.

Jon Stewart could not have made it any clearer last night when he strongly used his show as a platform to encourage Hillary to keep running. It is so obvious that he, being the intellectual that he is,
can not stand this whole ... bahhh follow the sheep Obama to the mountain top routine. He is disgusted that everyone is is screaming for HRC to get out before the world gets a chance to see that
BO has some serious credibility issues that the MSM are finally beginning to focus on. Let's see if I can sneak this past the obamabots guarding this site.

Hillary's problem, of course, is that over half of the voters in America hate her guts. Makes it sort of hard to win in the general...

If Hillary gets the nomination (which she won't) better get used to saying "President McCain". No matter how this plays out, Hillary will never be elected president.

CalliDem since Obama followers are sheep, explain why Hilary voted to authorize the war?
Why was she making noises about invading Iran less then a year ago?
Was it because was tricked, or was it because at the end of the day all she cares about is power.?
She made a cynical calculation during the Iraq War debate. Let me see if you can follow the logic as oppose to the bullshit.
There were intellegence reports and many senators were able to find them, from both sides of the aisle. Hilary and several Dems all with dreams of being president ignored them. Why because they didn't want to be on the wrong side of what looked like a popular war. This looked like easier pickings then Poppa Bush's Desert Storm (a legitimate response to aggression). The fact that it was a violation of international law, the fact it would cost the lives of 100,000s of Iraqis and Americans she calculated was worth it if she could avoid having to explain opposing a popular war in 2004 or 2008.
Remember the political atmosphere under which that vote was taken. Also remember the political atmosphere in which Obama opposed it.
It is a lie to disparage his opposition when folks who oppose this war at the time were treated like pariah.

The hounding of the Dixie Chicks. On a personal not my car was keyed twice a week because folks at my place of work disagreed with my views on the war. The bullshit narrative that it was easy to oppose the war in 2002 and 2003 is simply not true.
I know we have no sense of history in this country but in 2002 and 2003 this war was popular, proponents of this illegal war had as recently as 2006 convinced 75% of my fellow citizens that Iraq played some role in 9/11.
Those are the facts and that is why under no circumstance can I vote for Hilary Clinton.
She made a political calculation and her "instincts" or "judgement" was that here political fortunes were more important then the lives of 100s of 1000s of Iraqi men, women and children.
More important then the arms, legs and lives 10s of 1000s of middle class and lower class Americans she was willing to sacrifice in the deserts of Iraq.
She didn't even acknowledge that fact until she was challenged by Obama and "sheep" like me and it became clear that she couldn't pretend she was "tricked" by Bush any longer.

Very interesting questions that you raise. The answer may lie in her unreconsiled relationship with her father, who kept a photo of Hillary with archconsevative Barry Goldwater (for whom she voted in 1964) on his study wall until he died a few years ago. Hillary is a Republican neo-con with all the arrogance, pathological imagination, and refusal to accept responsibility that the Cheney gang personify. Hence her Iraq vote which accepted "on faith" the spin of the Bush White House....................

if she wins the nomination, she will want these sheep to vote for her.

she can go back on SNL and The Daily Show to request it in writing, she should come dressed in native Kenyan garb (headdress and all) and she would have to change her middle name to Husseina.

Who has been Swiftboating Obama, the Canadian Memo, where did that come from and who called Goolsbe and set him up? Who pushed up Rezko's trial which was to start much later this year? Why did Somali picture come out, along with Farrakahn endoresement and mocking of his middle name? We have to ask these things? Who does not want to give unity and hope a chance? Is this part of the Kitchen Sink or may be the Basement? I do know its dirty politics and until we reject this kind of politicking in America we will be a pawn in their hands, the people of power, and never find our true Independence which Obama is offering. The Evil Ones are just getting started. Someone is trying to pull our strings. The Truth will come out. Hopefully, America we can see through this Rouse this time and elect CHANGE!

The Republicans would love to run against Hillary. They have so much dirt in their Arsenal waiting to be Unleashed (movies, scandals, lawsuits, books) -- that is why Rush Limbaugh is Begging his listeners to vote for Hillary. If she is the nominee, we haven't seen nothing yet!

Don't worry bacaangel, the Canadian Embassy has issued a statement that supports the Obama campaign's version of the meeting. It is not in Cananda's interests to interfere in the
US primary process. The Clinton attack is therefore based on falsehood and spin. (see this morning's DRUDGE....this is HOT )

Don't get complacent. If Hillary gets the nomination, McCain wins the election. Nearly everyone I know is supporting Obama at this point. They all say the same thing: "If Obama doesn't get the nomination, McCain wouldn't be a bad second choice." I have not met ONE PERSON who has said that Hillary would be a good second choice. NOT ONE.

If Obama loses, the Democrats lose.

I'm hearing the same from Hillary supporters.

Personally, when all is said and done, I'll vote for the Democratic nominee because we someone to flush out of the Executive all those young GOP operatives that Bush and Rove put in place in the Department of Justice, Department of the Interior, Department of Education, etc.

I hope the nominee is Hillary, but if it's Obama, I'll vote for him. I'm not going to have a squalling fit because my candidate didn't win, vote for a Republican and take a crap on my country "just to show 'em."

Thoughts are very similar among my friends; however, it isn't so much that they'll vote for McCain as it is they'll simply sit out. I should mention that my friends include a large number of younger voters, people from the black community, and the antiwar crowd.

The way I see it, if Hillary wins the nomination, within a few months thereafter Bush/McCain will announce that due to "success in Iraq" they're announcing a phased withdrawal. It doesn't matter at all if they're serious or not. With that does the argument becomes about experience, Hillary's .. umm.. 6 years, and her high negatives. She's toast!

Good people of TX, OH, RI and Vermont our future is in your hands tomorrow. Let's make it loud and clear WE reject the old establishment and old politics of Washington it's time for a new day and a new way.

Obama 08

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:14 AM on 03/04/2008

Enough with the rejecting the old politics of washington and the establishment. Obama people are supposed to be educated, but I am afraid each and every single one of them failed American history class, or never bothered to show up. Every candidate running for president say that they are going to bring change to washington and most say that they will the unifier. Heck even Bush was elected twice on the premise that he would unify the country and change washington. If you don't believe me just check it out for yourself. People at Obama rallies act as if BARACK is the first guy who has ever said that Washington needed to be different. He is not the first and he won't be the last. IF he is elected (I doubt it) the guy that would be running against him 4 years from now will run on a platform that washington needs a change from Obama. Even the Russian picked up on the Obama phenomenon and did their own take on it. When Dmitri "campaign" started he ran on a slogan that says "Toghether We Will" Dmitri said that he would bring hope back to Russia and do a bunch of crap we all know won't happen. Politicians are politicians because they know what people want to hear. And right now people want to hear that "THEY" will change hundreds of years of ingrained culture on Capitol Hill by just elected Obama. They want to hear that Obama, with his liberal views that support abortion in the very late term of pregnancy, is somehow going to make Republicans who are pro-life come to the table and work with him on this divisive issue. He is going to get people who do not like to be taxed to see the light on why it is a good thing to be taxed to death to support stuff they don't care about. Republicans and Democrats have different philosophies on many things and that is not a bad thing. It is a very good thing. They're is no need to come together and unify our view points. Difference is a good thing. That is why this country is great. If people want the politicians to be in agreement with each other all the time and all matter that affect their country and for everyone to be unified on every issue then these people should move to Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Russia. They are as unified politically as you can get. As long as there are two parties, there will be conflict. That is the price of democracy.

I second that. Hillary represents the worst kind of old-school Washington politics. She's exactly the sort of status quo career politician we've been getting for years, and look where it's taken us. The status quo fought back hard this week. The right-wing Canadian government joined up with right-wingers like Rush Limbaugh in an attempt to defeat Barack Obama. He's been taking shots from all sides this week. And they're all trying to do the same thing: maintain the world they know. Prevent change from taking place. Protect the status quo.

Her comments on 60 minutes certainly confirmed what I thought all along about HC, she is calculating and manipulating. When ask did she think Sen. Obama was a Muslim, she first appeared she was debunking it, then says "well I've had to deal with rumors all my political life, I feel sorry for Sen. Obama. Then when asked the question again, she says ...."for what I know" he's not a Muslim. In other words, it could be true. The women doesn't have a ounce of integrity. Then she says to reporters today, well I have experience John McCain has experience, Sen. Obama has a speech. When did democrats start eating their own? The republicans I'm sure loved that comment. This women will do anything and take down this entire party so she and Bill can go back to the white house. Absolutely shameless.
