Hillary Clinton Daily Show

Hillary Clinton appeared (via satellite from Texas) on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on the eve of the crucial Texas and Ohio primaries. The segment began on a humorous note before turning to campaign themes. Stewart opened the interview by saying that "this election is about judgment, and tomorrow is perhaps one of the most important days of your life, and yet you've chosen to spend the night before talking to me." Clinton responded, "It is pretty pathetic." The interview then turned more serious and focused on the race for the Democratic nomination.

I will probably get pounced on for this by lame feminists and pro Clinton nuts, but is it must me or is she looking beat to hell? All it would take is some cold cream around the eyes and do her damn hair. I realize it's a hectic campaign, but she should be trying her best to look fresh faced and confident. Not like a beaten down hag.

So, you're saying we should elect a president the same way we choose a beauty queen? Now that's a brilliant idea. Jessica Simpson for president!!!!

No I didn't say that at all. But she should clean it up bit. An ice pack around the eyes and curling iron wouldn't kill her.

We'll suggest the cold cream if you suggest BO put down the crack pipe. How's that?

It's you. The woman is working considerably harder than you typing this crap out on the keyboard.

Is she working considerably harder than anyone else on this trail. Oh well if you mean harder at slinging the kitchen sink and dirty tactics then maybe thats acceptable. It's hard playing dirty and coming out clean on the other end.

What's funny is you think I am trying to take a cheap shot at Clinton and honestly I am not. It's important for her to look strong. Especially now when this could be the end for her. And we are seeing a worn out beaten down candidate right now. You personally may not think it matters but to the millions watching this it's something noticeable. Are we supposed to feel sorry for her or give her merits for working tirelessly? They are ALL working that hard and she seems to be wearing it. Sadly when it comes to her it can be seen as tactical. She just needs a minor touch up is all I am saying.

I mean Christ she went on Saturday Night Live looking beat the hell up. Don't they have hair and make up people? That's a real bad sign there too.

I thought it was pretty lame. I was pretty disgusted, actually, the way she kept saying she was thrilled to be in this historic race with Obama, she admires his idealism, blah blah blah.

I'm just not buying that crap anymore. I can't believe anyone is.

Hillary wouldn't know idealism if it bit her on her fat, pantsuit, old-lady ass.

Hillary campaigned for McGovern and I would call that idealism. I am not a Hillary supporter but a little less viciousness and ugly (and sexist) comments about her appearance and a little more fun would be useful here.

Is it just me or does Hillary appear to have 2 perfectly round circles for cheeks? Her cheeks look like perfectly round circles.

Hillary pretends that she is obsessed with healthcare, but she couldn’t last 5 minutes in a debate with Michael Moore. So why are politicians still calling for mandates? Forcing people to buy health insurance isn't universal healthcare. It just means more profits for the big insurers.

I couldn't last 5 minutes in a debate with Michael Moore, because I'd probably throw up looking at his fat, bloated self. For someone who's so concerned about health care, he doesn't seem to set a vey good example.

Michael Moore told everybody to vote for Ralph Nadar. That stupid decision had his sheep take away 97 thousand votes in Fla which handed GWB2 the White House in 2000. Do you think we would have gone to war if Gore would have been in president? Michael Moore needs to look at his own bloody hands before he starts talking about morality.

Obama has the big teeth and floppy ears.

Obama says he cares so much for Foreign Policy, is on the Foreign Relations Committee and chairs the Subcommittee on Europe that has jurisdiction over NATO which brings us to the mission on Afghanistan and he has done absolutely NOTHING on that front. The one place where he could evidence that he puts his money where his mouth is. And NOTHING.

Better yet, the reason he has given is that he has been too gosh darn busy with his campaign and running for President. Well, should be become President, everyone should pray that his attention span suddenly grows, and that he can multi-task, because as President, he will have plenty on his plate, and the buck stops with the President.

Well at least he showed up to vote when he was in Washington DC. So did McCain. Hillary was too busy I guess. She's full of it and will say anything to win.

You know what? I'm an Obama supporter, but I like Hil's appearance here. And of course she looks bad-- she's been working like crazy the past few weeks.

I think when you look at the way she's run her campaign and allowed advisers to run amok with her message, tone and integrity she doesn't have the sound judgment and consistency that Obama has, but I like her as a person. I wish she had run her campaign instead of letting Bill, Penn and Ickes turn it into an embarrassing and losing circus. I keep telling this to my Hil supporter friends-- you can't just be against the other person, you have to be for your candidate. Hillary never gave me a reason to vote for her, but I'm glad she's in politics.

Being fair to Hillary went out the door this last week with all her lies, innuendos and false accusations. She makes Bush/Cheney look ethical. The gloves are off!
If she's not sleeping it's because they can't find a casket for the vampire.

Whether you like her or hate her, you can't deny that her timing and delivery were impeccable on the "pathetic" line. Even Jon Stewart laughed his ass off. It was hilarious.

She paid $7000 to an acting coach. At least she got her money's worth on that one. Her timing and delivery and gestures are all very good now.

And they clearly covered Acting 101--"The key is sincerity. Once you can fake that, you can do anything."

Hey Arianna You guys are as bad as the Daily News and the New York Post , You try to find the one negative thing you can take form the interview and use it as a headline. Have you come out and endorsed Obama yet? Your post is the same old sleezy poltics which your bud is against. Why do you want your site to be so one sided?

If you're talking about the "pathetic" line as the one negative thing -- I thought just the opposite. I read the headline on the front page and I felt like I instantly got what it was about -- because that's very DS and YellerDawg is right; Hillary delivered that line all on her own and pretty well. I also agree with japhy1979 -- I'm an Obama supporter and my candidate appears to me to be grounded and willing to poke fun at himself. I think Clinton should be proud to say the same, as her appearances in SNL and TDS have shown.

'When this is all over one of these two candidates should reach out to the other and their camp and bring them into the fold -- because that's what Obama represents to me, and for all I admire in him, that talk has got to be put into action and the bridges built that will allow Americans to remake their government and their nation in a higher way. I think Obama can do that, and I think Clinton is capable as well.

Hillary isn't just using the Republican playbook, she's releasing her own edition.

After months of chameleon-like changes with her campaign strategies, Hillary Clinton has finally found her true voice. Surprise, surprise, it's Republican! With all the venom of a Karl Rove or the late Lee Atwater, who to his credit sought forgiveness for his actions, Hillary has unleashed a barrage of innuendos, record distortions, fear-mongering, race-baiting, and flat out lies aimed towards Barack Obama, that would make most right-winged Republicans recoil.

I am not sure whether Hillary appearing on The Daily Show helped or hurt her, but I am sure of one thing. She looked terrible. It was if she had so much Botox injected into her face that it finally fell to her cheeks and gave her the appearance of a chipmunk.
