Obama Darker

America Blog:

Via America Blog:

I went and got the original footage from the Clinton ad, and then compared it to 3 different video clips of the same debate from 3 different sources. I did this so as to take into account any editing, or quality issues, that might have accounted for Obama having darker skin in any particular video. None of the 3 video sources I found showed Obama nearly as black as the Hillary ad does. Click the image above to see a larger version. Look at his lips. Look at his eyebrows. Look at how the red MSNBC background has turned more purple. Clearly the image was darkened. The question is "why."

Make the comparison yourself:

One Kos diarist recalls the infamous O.J. Simpson cover on Time Magazine:

One of the first times I distinctly recall this issue being brought to the forefront was the Time Magazine cover picture of O.J. Simpson after his arrest. Time was heavily criticized for darkening the shade of Simpson's skin in the cover photograph.

Whether intentional or not, the message was that a darker skinned Mr. Simpson somehow was more threatening or frightening than a lighter skinned Juice.

Check out the original picture comparison:

Yes, I am an Obama supporter but first and foremost I am a DEMOCRAT. Apparently, Hillary has forgotten that she is running against a fellow Democrat. For her and her husband to use racist tactics to win a nomination along with fear-mongering is disrespectful to all who value and respect the party.

I have lost the ounce of respect I had for her and her husband.

let's look at your claim that the first half dozen times were written off and not called racist.

In NH Mr Shaheen talks about Obama's past drug use and how the repugs will use it against him. Wonders whether the repugs might even imply he sold drugs as a youth. Immediately called racist. The only wa this could be racist is if you think most drug users/dealers are black. I don't think they are . Or you assume that if Obama were white, no one would talk about his drug use. Was it racist when they talked about GW Bush's past drug use? Was the constant talk about Bill Clinton inhaling racist?

Bill Clinton says in a speech that Obams's claim to being consistently against the war was a 'fairytale'. The press and the Obama campaigh claim he said the entire Obama campaign was a 'fairytale' and immediately label it as racist. Of course they all took it out of context and misrepresented what he said. But, who cares about accuracy if you can start up a good conflict.

Bill Clinton says a vote for Obama would be a 'rolll of the dice' because of his inexperience. This is immediately called racist. I guess it is supposed to conjure up images on black men shooting dice in urban alleyways. Of course it is a standard everyday phrase and there is nothing racist about it.

Hillary talks about LBJ's role is getting cfivil right laws passed. She is immediately attacked as a racist for supposedly downplaying MLK's role in civil right. She didn't, but that is the claim that is made.

So, tell me again how the press and the Obama didn't make up the entire "racist" agenda themselves by misrepresenting what was said?

When I first saw this one, i thought maybe it was a bit paranoid. Until I saw this one:

This is pretty low. There are no excuses, it was deliberate and will work with the kind of person who is influenced by republican negative ads.

Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign, ready on the right, ready on the left, all ready on the firing line. Start smearing when your target appears.

This is some very sorry stuff and unworthy of Democrats.

The major networks are not touching it yet. I'm for flooding them with emails. You know, grass roots support. There's still time!

Does this suggest that a person with a darker shade of skin color is inferior to a lighter shade? I can't believe how tragically insane these accusations have become.

Obamaphiles continue to show their bigotry with offensive, insulting comments about the Muslim religion and now they display their racism by supporting judgments based on the color of one's skin.

And these comments are supposed to be from the elite educated ranks of the Democratic party?

By the way, MediaMatters.Org just debunked the attacks on Clinton's 60 Minutes remarks, which were cropped by the Hillary bashers. Here's the link: http://mediamatters.org/items/200803040002

This latest incident is about 5 times removed from the LAST straw for me. This garbage will eventually break the Clinton camel's race-baiting back. How can one possibly support this unscrupulous woman and not be ashamed?

Wow. This shouldn't surprise anyone though and actually, in comparison to other attacks, it's pretty tame. When you take all of the separate incidents into account you begin to see a larger pattern from the Clinton campaign that says simply and unequivocally "a win is a win is a win... by any means necessary". They're willing to go to any lengths to get Hillary the nomination, regardless what this may say about the candidate, her integrity or the ramifications it may have for the Democratic Party overall. I can't in good conscience support a candidate that would resort to these tactics and but also I cant support someone who in his own words would lock America into Iraq for another "100 years". If Clinton gets the nomination I'm most likely going to sit this one out. I DON'T want any part of it. I know Clinton's stated policies fall closer to where my values and goals for this country lie but at this point I don't trust her to not do what's best for her own interests as opposed to what's best for the common good.

Why are people so eager to give her the benefit of the doubt? This story should be on the front page of the NYTimes, WaPo etc. It's outrageous that something of this scope is only discussed 'underground' on progressive internet sites.
When I first saw the ad I thought - something is wrong here. I had a bad feeling about it, without knowing why, until reading the breaking article about it a couple of days ago.
Just another item on the list of things Obama needs to denounce. And reject. The sooner the better. Or perhaps it is already too late. He's beginning to remind me of Kerry's reluctance to "go negative" in the face of preposterous lies. The Tories in Canada and their helpers in the Chicago Embassy, the corruption trial in Chicago, Hillary's endorsement of McCain... the list is not getting any shorter.

Look at Huffpo's image of Hillary on the "skipped Afghanastan Vote' post. IT has been darkened. Do you suppose they did it deliberately to make it look more ominous and evil?

I didn't think my eyes were wrong but convinced myself that they "wouldn't dare go there". Turns out they did go there after all.

Just some overexcited Clintonite video editor lackey trying to overachieve on an attack ad. Nothing too sinister... but it once again goes to show you what a nasty example Clinton has set for those within her campaign.

Hillary is a disgrace to all Americans and especially women.
She needs to withdraw from the race and go home.
She doesn't know how to play fair or how to lose gracefully.

Obama - the candidate with integrity.

Here is the actual ad: http://blog.washingtonpost.com/thefix/2008..._with_mome.html

Here is the debate where it came from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjSEqh9zFTE

No doubt about it, they photoshopped it. Unfortunately, most Texans and Ohioans will not know of this until it is too late. Just another sleazy slimy Clinton trick.

And if that wasn't bad enough, she praises McCain over Obama and talks about her 8 years of White House experience that led her to vote to send our soldiers to their deaths in Iraq: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou4JnWQsxKw
