Bush And McCain:

Bush And McCain: "Not Interested In Change"

President Bush threw a Rose Garden endorsement of newly-minted GOP nominee John McCain this afternoon, and a press-conference broke out! The on-hand press corps passed on the opportunity to bask in the moment in order to fire a number of questions at the once and potentially future presidents, including: how will McCain "make the case that you'll provide the change that the voters seem to want both on Iraq and on the economy?" Bush's answer was, "Uhm, sort of we won't!"

BUSH: Let me start off by saying that in 2000, I said vote for me, I'm an agent of change. In 2004, I said, I'm not interested in change. I want to continue as president. Every candidate has to say change. That's what the American people expect. And the good news about our candidate is, he'll be a new president, a man of character and courage, but he's not going to change when it comes to taking on the enemy. He understands this is a dangerous world. And I understand we better have steadfast leadership who's got the courage and determination to pursue this enemy so as to protect America. John McCain will find out when he takes the oath of office, his most important responsibility is to protect the American people from harm. There's still an enemy that lurks. An enemy that wants to strike us. This country better have somebody in the Oval Office that understands the stakes and John McCain understands those stakes.

To which McCain replied, "I don't have anything to add." Future DNC talking point alert!

Is bush talking about McCain, or himself. That sounded like a rationalization to me.

Watch the clip and keep an eye on John McCain's face while GW was rambling on about this "no-change" nonsense..John Looks like he wants to slap Dubya in the back of the head to shut him up..I dont support McCain, but I don't envy his position of having to suck up to GW to keep the full support of his party, while at the same time trying to distance himself from him..Talk about no-win!!..

For McCain and Bush this election isn't about change as much as it is hypocrisy. The air was just dripping the the smiling lies they were pushing. To see what I'm talking about go here:

Keep running on that fear platform! It seems to keep the votes of the sheeple coming. They're going to try to play up the "change is bad" angle, and focus on the "success of the surge." They're going to try to make people believe that change means surrender and that taxes equal recession, even though all evidence points to the contrary.

Republicans have never been interested in change, they are reactionary. That is their platform.

IMO, the only change we've seen is that America is now enslaved to their ideals of prosperity and success. We work, they make money. The Republicans have stolen the American dream, and they want to keep it.

They're scared though. People have figured out their game. People are voting for Democrats by a 2:1 margin, even in Red strong holds (check out FreeRepublic.com if you want to see their fear).

If you have any friends thinking of voting for McCain, pass this to them: www.serveoutloud.blogspot.com

Allow me to paraphrase. "FEAR! FEAR! YOU HAVE MUCH TO FEAR AND DEMOCRATS WILL NOT PROTECT YOU!" Or something like that.

Not interested in change? No kidding. The Repubs have it set up EXACTLY the way they want. Veto pen in charge to nix anything the public wants. Courts stacked to give the correct outcome. Corporations beholden to them for big tax breaks and immunities from liability. The rich getting all the breaks. Talk Radio working for them 24/7 to dupe the public.
Why should they want a SINGLE THING changed??

IMHO, it does not matter who the President is, if congress and the house hates the President then they place their hatred before their love for their country. They need to cultivate an interest in the country and loose their interest in themselves--every one of them--both G O P and DEMOS should cut out the pork and under the table "gifts". If health care is so important then reappropriate the pork and waste to shore up the health care system.

Both the far right and the far left as well as the environmental wackcos remind me of religious cults in which there is not any middle ground, no discussion and no compromise, just hate and humiliation for other points of opinions....

Duh! If it's working for us, why change it?

What do the people know about anything?

All George and John have to do is say "BOO" to scare those suckers back into line!

McCain has no plan about getting the 50 million Americans health care, so PUKE on him and
it is likely everyone who saw the recent 60 minutes on the problem will agree. McCain and Co.
want to continue driveling away 3000 million a week, that is more than 400 million a week, on
IRAQ, while millions of Americans can't get health care. PUKE ON HIM.
