Bush Talking
John McCain came to the White House today to accept the endorsement of President Bush. While waiting for McCain to arrive, Bush stood on the North Portico and talked up a storm. However, his microphone wasn't turned on, so we'd like to ask our readers what they thought Bush was saying, especially when he chuckles and winks.

Post what you think Bush said in the comments below. And make sure to comment on Bush's soft-shoe routine towards the end of the video

HuffPost is moderating comments in this thread, just in case any of our dear members try to slip in simply nasty comments about Bush. Please try to exercise some self-restraint while pondering the silent language of our President.

Bush's microphone was not turned on, and so he appeared to be talking to himself as he waited for John McCain to arrive at the White House for lunch. Bush also did a tap dance at one point. http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1444170168http://www.brightcove.com/channel.jsp?channel=1178199204

More than likely he was shilling his ma's new movie. The movie poster can be viewed here:

I am quite certain that the endorsement of arguably the worst president in American history cannot be a plus.

I have a serious question, do you guys really believe Bush "stole" the 2004 election? I have heard zero compelling arguments for that point of view. And if Kerry had won without the popular vote would you be screaming he "stole" the election? No lefty has ever answered this question for me.

Yes, I believe that there was election fraud in 2004 which led to Bush's victory. When you say you've heard no compelling arguments for that point of view, I have to wonder what your sources of news are.

This was a great article (compelling even) from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (lefty).

Like most conservatives, you suffer from subscribing to belief without foundation. I would suggest that you try being empiric. Try actually researching the subject about which you're having questions:

http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/10432334/was_the_2004_election_stolen
http://www.harpers.org/archive/2005/08/0080696

Then google "election fraud" + Ohio + 2004. You're going to get an eyeful.

How many of you righties acknowleged Bush stole the 2000 election after saying Bill Clinton didn't really win the 1992 election because he didn't get a majority of popular votes? Seems it only matters if the other guy wins.

It had nothing to do with him losing the popular vote. It was how the elections were conducted and the amount of voters that were disenfranchised. The election was stolen for him both times, obviously and blatantly. On his own, I doubt he could steal a stick of bubble gum without getting caught, but he had a powerful machine behind him headed by Rove, Cheney and all the other scum who are loyal to him. I believe history will prove us "lefties" to be correct. I can wait.

McCain will continue selling this country to the big oil cartels like Bush & Dick have been doing for the past 7+ years. We the taxpayers will buy gas at a premium of $4 a gallon by this summer. We the taxpayers will foot the bill for this never ending war that was manifested my the lies of Bush, his bullies and “righteous” people like McCain. We the taxpayers are being squeezed into poverty for the few and the wealthy. McCain is just another liar like Bush.

I watched part of that... was Bush on something? He was loud, talked over people, answered questions directed to McCain, and yelling to a reporter "no followup!" Then as he pointed to certain reporters, he did a "No, no, not you, no. Where's Wolf!?"

I was shocked. He's either back on the drugs and beer or he's an obnoxious a-hole...

I think he was reacting to today's oil price increases!! Think of all the partying he will be doing with his industry pals.
Or else he was thinking, "great, I can turn this mess over to the democrat president and go hang out in crawford with my mega rich buddies."

THE RESIGNATION SPEECH BUSH GAVE:

Normally, I start these things out by saying "My Fellow Americans." Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer. I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: There's been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office. The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people. I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out. Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is in the tank. And that's despite record numbers of homeowners, including record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while we're mentioning minorities, I'll point out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton administration. I've mentioned all those things before, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in. Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security. We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this "blood for oil” thing. If I were trading blood for oil I would've already seized Iraq's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named 'Clinton' established that policy. Bet you didn't know that, did you.
The soldiers of our new enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you, and the bastards are all over the globe. You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you're not. That's because you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement, and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor.'
Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.
I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads. So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient for years. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall. Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there are just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008. So that's it. God bless what's left of America.
Some of you know what I mean. The rest of you, kiss off.

What is sad is that this is the "leader" of the free world, has created an economy falling into recession with a huge deficit, started a war that has no reasonable resolution, created a high level of international distrust and dislike for the US fueling the "war on terror", increased the distrust in the government, and divided the American people to new levels and here he is "in a good mood", tap dancing around, and joking. Contrary to many comments above about him anxious to leave, his current position fits right into his arrogance and narcissism.

We got exactly what was advertised - the president that would be good to sit down and have a beer with.
