Cafeteria Workers

New York Times:

Hundreds of cafeteria and other food-service workers rallied in Lower Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon for higher wages and improved benefits as part of an ongoing battle between the Aramark Corporation and the union Unite Here, which represents about 20,000 Aramark employees, including about 4,000 in the New York region.

The workers rallied outside the headquarters of Bank of New York Mellon at One Wall Street before traveling to the Goldman Sachs headquarters headquarters at 85 Broad Street and then returning. Some changed slogans like, "Who's in the kitchen? We don't know. Aramark has got to go."

And all those big buck corporate types who frequent the cafeterias in their workplaces employed by these workers-be careful they might have spit, farted, sneezed, coughed and peed in your food just to get even.

It takes a lot of balls to walk a picket line on Wall St these days. There's no telling when the brokers will start tossing themselves out of windows.

The quote from Maldanada shows the union mentality at it's finest. " we don't care if you make 50mil, we care that you don't share it with the empoyees" he's getting his share when he gets paid what he agreed to work for. The 50 mil goes to the shareholers.

["The 50 mil goes to the shareholers."]

Hmm, I wasn't aware that their salaries and options went to the shareholders.

Well I'll be.

No, I just don't want their hair in my 401K profits.

If they are that unhappy with their pay, maybe they should look for a job that doesn't involve slopping mashed potatoes onto a tray.
