Glenn Beck Watch: 'Is Obama The Anti-Christ?'

While thousands of Americans went to the polls last night, flushed with the civic pride and enthusiasm that comes when careful consideration and a sense of responsibility culminates in the casting of a vote, CNN's Glenn Beck was honoring the day over at his eponymous Headline News show. There, he was brave enough to ask the tough questions - if, by "brave" we mean "obtuse" and by "tough" we mean "inane."

Yea, verily, last night, Glenn Beck hosted anti-Catholic bigot/fervent John McCain supporter John Hagee. And lo, there was a sound that arose from deep in Beck's wordhole. And those sounds formed a question that sounded out across the airwaves unto disbelieving ears. That question: "Is Barack Obama the anti-Christ."

We are not making this up. Glenn Beck, serious newsman, needed to find out if Barack Obama was the Devourer of Worlds, Son of Harlots, Bearer of the Mark of the Beast. John Hagee had to be thrilled by the question: somehow, Beck managed to make Hagee look reasonable.

Jesus wept. Watch for yourself:

BECK: Let me ask you, I get so much e-mail on this and I think a lot of people do, and I've got a couple of seconds. They say Glenn, you and the media, you got to wake up. Barack Obama's making people faint and cry and everything else. He's drawing people in. There are people -- they said this about Bill Clinton -- that actually believe he might be the anti-Christ. Odds that Barack Obama is the anti-Christ.

HAGEE: No chance. He has a lot of charisma. There's a media love affair with him right now. He is a very formidable political person. I believe the best leader for America in the future is John McCain.

BECK: Thank you very much, pastor. Back in just a second. That's good news, at least where I stand.

You notice Beck does not take responsibility for his crazy question, but simply says "I get emails that say." What if Hagee would have said "yes, Obama is the anti-Christ." Would then Beck and Hagee try to lure Obama to a church and stab him with daggers as in Omen IV.

I can not belief Beck works for CNN. You talk about the dumbing down of America and guys like Beck take much of the blame.

What scares me is that Hagee appears to be smart. I mean this guy knows what he wants and how to get it. I guess that's obvious. He's obviously wealthy, one would say obscenely so. He's very powerful. He's an egomanic.

Fortunately, he is so obviously awful that McCain's association with him will only hurt McCain's chances with moderates and independants. So, I hope the good reverend continues to sing his support through the airwaves. He makes such good fodder for the late night shows.

The difference between an attack by Beck and Republicans is that they are known for doing it out of desperation. But when Clinton attacks it is different Obama can't try to take her head of without offending women or dividing his party.

Glen Beck claims Obama is the anti-Christ, some unknown source is sending emails claiming he is a Muslim that hates America and won't wear a flag pin because of it.

I just received one of those fear mongering Muslim emails today myself and want to know what authorities I should forward it to so we can stop this as I think it's a hate crime.

Glenn Beck is reason enough to watch CNN. Hillary Clinton's "Vast Media Conspiracy" charge reminded me of how CNN and other media outlets caved when they were accused of having a liberal bias. The only bias the media has is a corporate one and because of that, they had to refute the charge they were left-leaning. The result is people like Glenn Beck and Tucker Carlson having shows of their own. It's a great strategy to accuse the media of bias everytime they attack you. They feel pressured to be "fair and balanced". Clinton has managed to successfully apply this tactic. She accused the media of being biased towards Obama and got them to start attacking him and leaving her alone.
