Gas

Gas prices in California are at an all-time high. The statewide average price for a gallon of regular is now 58 cents more per gallon, than the same time last year.

But, there is one place on the Central Coast where you can expect to pay more than $5 a gallon. The Americo gas station in the tiny coastal town of Gorda, about 40 miles south of Big Sur, is selling gasoline for $5.19 a gallon for regular, and $5.39 for premium.

Despite high prices, the local gas stop grabs customers, without any competition. And according to locals, the pain at the pump isn't over yet... as they plan to raise the prices another 20 cents in the coming weeks.

You can expect prices at the pump to continue to climb. I'm predicting nationwide prices of $7 to $9 a gallon by summer.

Why? Why not. You'll pay it. You have to.

The United States of America ... as defined by the crooks who presently run it ... is determined to bring World War III to the rest of the world. The super-duper whiz bangs are targeted and loaded, the ships deployed, the troops prepared: "just sign that Petroleum Law right there on the dotted-line and back away real slow like."

Or else... the countries whom you have invaded with impunity and ever-increasing belligerence give you, and your currency, a swift kick in the stones, which by-the-way are entirely unprotected. The problem is not with the supply of the stuff but with the value that you pay for it IN UNITED-STATES DOLLARS. The final act will be to repudiate the treaty that links oil-purchases to this particular currency, imposing in its place a far-more-sensible "currency basket."

Suddenly, you're the ones carrying wheelbarrow-loads of worthless currency around, but instead of putting it into your cook-stove you're trying to put it in your car. Independent truckers simply stop by the side of the road and leave their rigs, their un-delivered cargoes still in them, and this happens nationwide. Supply of the most-basic goods stop because it costs too much to buy the bunker-fuel for the cargo ships and locomotives that bring them in from 10,000 miles away ... and domestic sources of supply simply do not exist because in the 70's and early 80's we dismantled them, being cocksure that "poor" countries would always be our oyster. Well, "now who's 'poor?'"

The Great Depression of 2008. A devastating but entirely self-inflicted wound on the United States of America. And most-ironically, a way to avert World War III without actually firing a shot.

What happens next?

Well, the good news is that the American People finally stop "drinking the kool-aid" of all those lies they've been told for all those years. As trillions of "dollars" start to change back into the leprechaun-straw that they always were, even the "rich" and the "comfortably retired" start to feel pain. The Federal Reserve chief keeps twisting his little knob until it breaks off in his hand.

The country, and the world, begin to look again at what safety and security, and value, really is. The prophetic words of Dwight D. Eisenhower are re-read, and this time, listened to.

A leader steps forth who is a combination of Uncle Sam and Rosie the Riveter, and the nation follows him or her.

The gang of thieves on "K" street catch their express-planes to Dubai, taking a good bit of the Congress and the Supreme Court with them. Good riddance.

The Government of Dubai complies with the extradition requests. Impeachment trials and criminal trials are held; convictions are handed down. In lieu of the rope, the convicted are subjected to what they fear more than death: humiliation and shame.

Factories begin to be reopened. Kids stop being fed drugs in school and begin to regain their senses. Someone looks back at what this country had and took-for-granted in the 1950's, wants it back and knows how to get it. And does so.

Thirty years hence, this country is a powerhouse once again, and a genuine TRADING partner. The country re-earns its trust, although neither the world community nor the American citizenry will ever permit another such lapse in vigilance.

And... amazingly... it all happened with a gallon of gas. Not with a bomb or a gun.

You are right. It's not that the value of a gallon of gas has gone up. As the dollar becomes less and less valuable, it make sense that it would take more of them to purchase a gallon of gas. You should look to the Government and ask why they are de-valueating the dollar. If the dollar where worth more, it would take fewer of the to obtain a gallon.

Smart marketing. Set your gas prices as the highest in the country and you will immediately get national coverage for your business. And it's free.

Wait for the price of beer to go up and then watch the rednecks go crazy.

ROFLMAO!

Indeed! And as memory serves me, that's exactly what happened when Bush I levied additional "(no) new taxes" on beer and tobacco products.

After which, Bill Clinton was elected Preznut...coincidence...hmmmmmm?

I shudder to think what the apologist trolls in here will be like when the price of crack starts climbing.
