PGA Tour golfer Tripp Isenhour was charged with killing a hawk on purpose with a golf shot because it was making noise as he videotaped a TV show. Isenhour was with a film crew for "Shoot Like A Pro" on Dec. 12 at the Grand Cypress Golf course. The 39-year-old golfer, whose real name is John Henry Isenhour III, was charged Wednesday with cruelty to animals and killing a migratory bird.

The charges carry a maximum penalty of 14 months in jail and $1,500 in fines.

According to court documents, Isenhour got upset when a red-shouldered hawk began making noise, forcing another take. He began hitting balls at the bird, then 300 yards away, but gave up.

Isenhour started again when the hawk moved within about 75 yards, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer Brian Baine indicated in a report.

Isenhour allegedly said "I'll get him now," and aimed for the hawk.

I'm worried about his poor wife.
She's got to be climbing the walls having married a boy like him.

He is from North Carolina, went to college in Georgia. I am willing to bet he is an Evangelical, on occasion.

This guy should be ashamed of himself and he should be punished. Maybe by a pack of hungry, angry hawks.

I bet this loser's man-tool is a tiny as his scoring pencil.
If I were his wife, I'd be ‘en guard.

I bet he's from one of the 'slow' states.
You know, one of the ‘states’ that thinks drivin' fast and turnin' left is an actual a sport!

We have an old man vice president who goes shooting farm raised quail while drunk. It will be nice when he is no longer a threat to tame quail, or drunk shooting buddies.

While I hate cruelty to animals as much as anyone, this looks like a case a a guy wanting to scare the bird away. Who thinks he can hit a bird at 225 feet away with a golf ball? Ironically, today is the day that eight school students were butchered in Jerusalem, and kids are being gunned down all over the USA.
When is violence and street crime going to be an issue in this campaign. Oops, I forgot, if you mention street crime that makes you are racist. So we can expect our candidates to have their lips closed except perhaps on the Hawk story. Getting upset about terrorist bombs=being a right wing nut. Sorry, I sometimes forget myself.

Not necessarily. But statements like this are usually a good indication.

I've never hurt an animal in my life and I never would, but I confess to being tempted once.

True story.

I was having a lousy round, taking lots of abuse from my buddies. Finally hit a good shot...put the ball about 10 feet from the pin from about 150 yards. Damn me if a seagull didn't swoop down when it had barely stopped rolling and bugger off with it. The three clowns I was golfing with have never let me forget it. The oft-told tale always starts out, "Have you heard about when a birdie got Dave at King's Forest?"

He is wearing Taylor Made cap. I bet/..they are going to dump him. Now, he would have to wear that bird around his neck for the rest of his pro career if he has any left.

This is going to be pretty expensive for him.

Tripp Isenhour sounds like James Dobson when James determined he was gonna show his dachshund who was boss and beat-the-dog-with-a-belt.

What kind of individual has to maim, hurt or kill little animals for any reason, much less the sake of a 'film take?' Tripp Isenhour is a real S.O.B. and I hope he is harassed off the tour by the gallery. I suggest bird calls when he lines up to shoot.

I'll take this opportunity to shoot my own bird at Tripp Isenhour.

Have the comparisons to Mike Vick started? He got kicked out of the NFL for killing dogs. I wonder what the PGA will do.

They will never do that, he's white and playing a rich man sport. Golf is a sport that destroys with impunity, indigenous landscape. I grew up in Tucson Arizona, we moved there in 1963 because my dad had a respiratory disease. Now that there are 35 golf courses in Tucson alone, the weather has changed and it's no longer healthy.
Why in the hell are golf courses in the desert? And why do they always take up lots of beautiful landscape that only benefits them and their obscene wealth?

If a guy can hit a moving bird from 75 yards he should be rushed to the top.

Actually, Vick was booted from the NFL for gambling.
