Hillary Clinton

London Telegraph:

Hillary Clinton had no direct role in bringing peace to Northern Ireland and is a "wee bit silly" for exaggerating the part she played, according to Lord Trimble of Lisnagarvey, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former First Minister of the province.

"I don't know there was much she did apart from accompanying Bill [Clinton] going around," he said. Her recent statements about being deeply involved were merely "the sort of thing people put in their canvassing leaflets" during elections. "She visited when things were happening, saw what was going on, she can certainly say it was part of her experience. I don't want to rain on the thing for her but being a cheerleader for something is slightly different from being a principal player."

Regarding Hillary & Foreign policy:

* Bill's trip to Kazakhstan with Canadian magnate, Frank Giustra, that netted Giustra $3 billion and Bill's foundation a $131 million contribution from Giustra?
* How powerful foreign donors to Bill's presidential library, such as the Saudis, may pose a serious conflict of interest to Hillary's foreign policy actions as president?
* How Bill's tangled ties to an investment concern of Clinton friend, Ron Burkle, and it's dealings with Dubai may yet, again, threaten to compromise Hillary Clinton's execution of foreign policy as president?
* The fact that the with all of these questionable financial dealings, the Clintons have been unwilling to release their tax returns, especially in light of Hillary Clinton claiming that the $5 million she lent the campaign was "her own money?"

I'm so tired of you asking this fricking false 1998 or 2008 question, I'll answer you...honestly. I am much better off now then I was then. Making about 10 times more money, have decent health insurance now, yadda, yadda, yadda.....My answer proved no more than your question? Why? Because without any context it doesn't MEAN anything. I'm 10 years older, now have a Masters, etc. By the same token, 2008 is NOT 1998. It's a ridiculous question.

No, it seems like Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels caused the MSM to completely flip their coverage and now Hillary can do no wrong. Obama has had a rough news week, and biased reporting partially contributes to this. (i.e. not setting the record straight on NAFTA gate, not reporting that Rezko's co-defendent cronies donated to the Clintons, not reporting Hillary's lying about her Mississippi women diss).

"The Women’s Coalition will think they were important. Other people beg to differ."

"So in a classic woman politicky sort of way I think she was active...She was certainly investing some time, no doubt about it. Whether she was involved on the issue side I think probably not."

I mean, doesn't everyone know women are useless, and incapable of achieving anything? Good lord, a *womans coalition* thinking they were important. Pee-shaw! Men are the only ones who can stop the fighting (that has been going on for decades - by men!)

(I think Lord Trimble has woman issues. Obviously the guy doesn't think women are capable of anything but serving tea.)

"I can state from firsthand experience that she played a positive role for over a decade in helping to bring peace to Northern Ireland. She visited Northern Ireland, met with very many people and gave very decisive support to the peace process.

"There is no doubt that the people of Northern Ireland think very positively of Hillary Clinton’s support for our peace process, due to her visits to Northern Ireland and her meetings with so many people. In private she made countless calls and contacts, speaking to leaders and opinion makers on all sides, urging them to keep moving forward."

But, as somebody actually involved in the Peace Process, do you not think he's in a good position to judge or was and who was not instrumental in it? And I think he has the right to call out somebody who's misrepresenting themself in that regard.

More than just involved; he received a Nobel Prize for his involvement. Can't get much better credentials than that. And what about the disconnect between Mrs. Clinton's own biography and her current claims? And all the other lines of evidence presented in this story? It's hard to dispute that HRC is exaggerating her foreign policy experience (and then launching duplicitous attacks on Obama for also being relatively inexperienced).

Yet, I am sure that many of Clinton's adherents will do just that. It's no coincidence that Clinton's base of support is among the uneducated: students in college learn how to think for themselves, to make decisions based on the evidence presented rather than the authority of the presenter.

They don't trust Obama because (aside from certain obvious reasons), in their minds, he doesn't have authority. Why? Simply because he hasn't been in power, in Washington, long enough. Competence, policy, logic, real accomplishments, experience: none of these matter. Just perceived authority.

Your bitter-felt defense of Senator Clinton is quite fruitless considering she has a continued history of lying, particularly attaching herself to momentous events and people. Even in Sir Edmund Hillery she had a two-fer, claiming she was named after him and by name extension identified with scaling that great peak. Good for Lord Trimble to again remind us what a pathalogical character we have in the "monstrous" (someone else's word) Hillary -- experience in solving the Irish problem, indeed! During this primary season we are flooded with nonsense about her co-presidency with the Immoral One, even inferring she has an ability to answer the 3am red phone, thus an inate "foreign policy" capability. How laughable..........that foreign policy exposure came after "co" President William Jefferson Clinton (yes, I dare to use his middle name -- sorry Barack Hussein Obama for the faux pas) had to ship her butt off on world wide tours with Chelsea to get his wife "co" president out of embarrassment's way. Uh, make that his "co" embarassment.
Seems if there is a desire to defend a woman's path and achievement of power we should turn to the Lady Margaret Thatcher as an example who, unfortunately, is in dangerously failing health as I type this. At her peak she was a tough-minded, cold, driven leader, similar to Senator Clinton........but with a difference. Prime Minister Thatcher ruthlessly cleaned out the entrenched socialism that had brought Great Britain to economic despair. She promulgated her country's recovery and it shares in Europe's economic miracle. Conversely, Senator Clinton's presidential program's run is awash with socialistic programs to further speed this country's already apparent declining. (And too bad a decent man like Obama also spouts socialism.)
Hopefully, Senators Barack Obama and John McCain will dispatch Senator Clinton back to the life tenured Senate where she will become a bit tolerable, more or less. Maybe then the other very capable women serving this country politically, militarily and economically, will assume political power all the way from the Presidency, sorta like Maggie Thatcher.

Oh, Casey Babes, read up on actual facts. You can vote for whom ever you want. But, be well informed and less easy to be swayed by headline hype. The facts are out there, but if you really want information and to make a sound judgement on who you want the nominee for, show yourself to be one of prudent research of facts.

And your sniveling whinning is fruitless too. Go back to what Barack supporters do best. Just continue the insults and name calling. Actual genuine thought is beyond you. Flash Quiz. Did you enjoy the 1990's better then the 00's? Simple question with a simple answer. Lets see, 1990's under Clinton. No endless wars (remember Kosovo?). Better jobs. The stock market doubled in value. More money in your pockets. Rising wages for everyone even the poor. Taxes on the rich. Gun Conrols. Hubble space telescope fixed. REAL efforts to end the fighting in the Middle East and a solution for Palestine. Low gas prices. etc. I guess all those "things" just don't do anything for you. Please stop with your dribble now.

Typical. Criticize Mrs. Clinton? Must be sexism.

Can't you open your eyes and examine the facts? YOU and those like you will be to blame when this goes to crap, just so you can blindly support a woman, any woman.

(PS. I would love to see a woman president, just not one who's main claim to fame is through marriage. Why doesn't that irk you so-called feminists? Especially when she plays it up with her myth-of-experience campaign. It is just so infuriating and degrading.)

You must not be old enough, or you were not paying much attention during the time Clintons were in the White House. Hillary broke the "mold" of many First Ladies in their actual roles.

Senator Hillary Clinton serves on the Arms of Denfense and went to Iraq 3 times herself.

Just to name a small bit of information, which it does not seem for you to realize that you can actually check the facts for yourself, instead play to headline hype.

Obviously if this crap keeps up the Republican's will win in 08. All of you sound worse than Rush Limbaugh (who if I hear his voice I get instant gas pains). I already know life long Democrats who voted in primaries who are going for McCain..The idea of Michigan and Florida not being counted (what if it was New York and California?). it is retarded. And the super delegates--that is retarded. The only fair thing is to get some sort of pledge from superdelegates that they will support whoever their delegates support and then have other primaries in Michigan and Florida. (Remember how we didn't win in Floriday before)? Duh. I am 59 and have never voted for even a local office for anyone that was not a Democrat--but if this race is not won fairly not by superdelegates and having Florida and Michigan counted by a new primary--than i wll never vote Democat again. Ralph Nadar or Green Party here I come.

Florida's election was moved up by the GOP dominated legislature over the objections of many Democrats. Michigan also broke party rules (this is a political party, you know) and moved up their election too. What if 20 other states decided to move theirs up? Where does it stop and how is anyone expected to develop a fair process in the midst of chaos? Moreover, all candidates agreed that the states had violated the rules and not to campaign in those states because of it, thereby implicitly admitting that the primaries were in violation of party rules. Obama and Edwards were not even on the ballot in Michigan. The idea that Hillary should now be able to seat delegates in violation of party rules is absurd. Either she plays by the rules or she doesn't and she should stop whining about it and play by the rules to which she agreed. It's that simple.

This link is correct for the Chicago Tribune piece, it's enlightening.

Considering Bill could have access to the White House again, shouldn't his financial ties, donations and corporate deals with foreign entities be brought out for public viewing?
If the Clinton's have nothing to hide then transparency should not be a problem.

Look, if HRC's experience is based upon the years she spent in the White House, the MONICA LEWINSKY has about the same experience for being in the Oval Office with Bill. I support the candidacy of Monica Lewinsky, she is just as qualified to be president as Hillary. Matter of fact, I have hear more stories of Monica in the Oval Office than Hillary, so she double qualified to be president.

Hillary has been padding her Resume for Years.
Unfortunately she has made far more outlandish claims than this, even ones that pull her Husbands Preisdential Legacy into Question. Once again Raising suspecion regarding Bill's spilling Confidenital Naitonal Security information to those without clearance. And we were so concerned about he spilt while with Monica. Knew that was ridiculous- perhaps it was a deversion from who he was sharing such Classified infor with. I would recommend she withdrawl, rebuke that claim to 'expereince' in Executive decisons making and Power!
Hillary not only puts more easily refuted claims of her Expereince out there to be verified, she Has Far More Serious 'errors' in her decisons than does Obama. Also the last 35 yrs are nothing to brag about- just look at MI we've been in the sink for decades (about 35 yrs), currently We are Circling the Drain. All thanks to Not only NAFTA, but from complicity by the Gov't to grant all Rights and priviledges granted to th ecitizens of this country to Inc's- Multi nat. conglomerate. Using our naitonal Identity with out National Allegience. For they wish to be a entity in an dof themselves while thriving in a parasitic state in any nation they infest. These are who hired Hillary, Mac, W. Cheney, rummy, Wolfie,Rice,Rove, Gonzales.....to be their 'operatives' in Public Office- they've reached the top. You can see evidence of Hillary's 'buy out' everytime she opens her mouth or places a vote, and even when she remains silent.
SHE IS THEIR GIRL!!!

The press is helping her destroy his chances. Period.

Nothing his team has done is significant compared to her rants and team Hillary's smears yet he is destroyed every time something minor happens while she continues to get away with dirty politics. I wonder if the msm will feel any shame when all is said and done. I hope someone writes a book about how this is all going. The Clintons own at least one person with connections to every network and paper and control the coverage..

Hillary is Machiavellian. Go look up the definition if you don't understand......

Then consider others on the main stage right now that Democrats hate that fill that description as well.

She's simply a Democratic version of everything we despise.

I think she would like to be but she engenders mostly dissent not loyalty.

Machiavellian shouldn't be a word of opprobrium, Il Principe is a pretty good treatise on how to govern under certain political conditions.

I doubt Hil could really negotiate the choppy political waters of 16C Florence, her campaign is lacking in cohesion as it is.
