A new Harris Interactive poll finds that over half of Americans -- 54 percent -- say they tend not to trust the press, "with only 30 percent tending to trust the press." More Americans (41 percent) trust "Internet news and information sites" than they do the mainstream media. Radio tends to do best among Americans as 44 percent say they tend to trust it.

No kidding. Why should they?

You have to read a lot of sources and see over time who's being honest and forthright.

Whenever selling advertising for great and essential products like stinky air fresheners, crap weight loss products, newer and more useless cell phones and moronic SUVs is the real name of the game do you really expect honesty to come along with it for free?

I agree! I told those frickin' moronic SUVs to get at least a GED, but would they listen? Nooooo!

After the lessons learned from Vietnam, the MIC has been investing in and learning how to intimidate the MSM. One way or the other, they are determined to not have their current 'endless' war threatened by showing US the bad news, like coffins arriving home and the many atrocities revealed, that we haven't heard about. Certainly, information available on the web is not exposed on the network news.

Only 54%? That still leaves 46% percent of our public vulnerable to media manipulation. That's way too many.

By the number of posts displayed on this article, isn't it obvious Americans are slowing waking up to the fact our government is evolving into a fascist state? Look at number eight on the list of ten steps towards fascism written by Naomi Wolf last year.

We're a small community here. Hardly a dent in the general public.

I think we are already there.

The past two "elections" and the one coming up looks more like a set-up.
Make the people think they have a choice.
Make sure someone defeats the candidate that would make a change and substitute for a candidate that is so similar to the opposition, people will not vote or vote for a candidate that offers nothing.

McCain and Clinton are one and the same. Terrifying.

I'M GUESSING THAT THE 30 PERCENT THAT TRUST THE PRESS ARE PROBABLY THE SAME PEOPLE THAT THINKS ELVIS IS STILL ALIVE AND O.J. IS INNOCENT.. IF I AM EVER CHARGED WITH A CRIME, I CAN ONLY HOPE I HAVE A FEW OF THESE PEOPLE ON THE JURY..

The media, as we used to know it, has been almost nonexistent during this sorry administration's existence. A case in point: Republican's returning from a visit to Iraq praise the surge and talk about how they freely and unprotected wander around Baghdad. The media should be following these supposedly these Congressional dignitaries on these safe excursions and taking photos of such excursions. I have not seen a one of these photos. It has been my experience that no Congressional dignitary, during my military tour of duty in England in the 1950's, went anywhere without a military escort. And mind you, this was in England!

The days of trusting the press are gone. They have to compete with the blogs and "E" tv. It also looks like the news organizations are also going to have to compete with the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, Hannity & Colmes, and Gleck Beck. That's why they have "bits and pieces" Anderson Cooper following Chelsea Clinton around.

Unfortunately this tells us nothing.

Some don't trust the press because there's not enough references to Jesus or the flag to suit them. Others don't trust the press because they cover-up all the important Elvis/9-11/Princess Di scandals. Others don't trust the press because its too dumbed-down for the watcher/listener/reader, while others think its too 'elite' and high-brow. Ther'es plenty of good reasons to not trust the press. There's also plenty of BAD reasons out there to not trust the press.

Fact: BBC and CNN reported the collapse of WTC7 before it happened.
How can we believe them

This is evidence of a different kind; it proves the collapse of WTC7 was not a natural result of damage inflicted by the collapse of the two towers. There was fore-knowledge. The media just repeated what they'd been told. It was ironic because at least in the case of the BBC, they did two reports saying it had collapsed when it was standing in the background behind them! If they'd only turned around and looked, they'd have seen the building had NOT collapsed, and THEN could have done a REAL story on how odd it was that a small fire had brought down this huge building when no steel framed building in history had ever been brought down by fire.

Furthermore, while on the subject, the now-claimed cause of the WT7 collapse is clearly bullshit because you can easily see in the footage that the building came straight down into its own footprint and did not collapse sideways as described in the recently released official report on the subject.
